I got a scolding from an Aha fan when I stated that "Living Daylights" was my favourite. The song just said something to me at a time, within a time and I s'pose stuck...regardless of all the critique.
Is nettle butterfly a translation of nässel fjäril? Remembering many a heavily stung shin sustained chasing these pretty little critters around in my short-panted early youth, it makes much more sense than small tortoiseshell.
I don't know their real english name.. but I gave them their "swinglish" name... if they are small tortoiseshell I really wouldn't be familar with that name.. but when Linné himself is responsible for most of the latin names of the animals around the world.. I figured I could do a little "swinglish".
and did you know that the yellow butterfly called the "sulfer" is known as "the cabage butterfly" in Sweden (kål fjäril)? So it was the input of Linné again with his observations of the insect's favoured environment. :) just woke up.. got a cold so I probably sound very stiff ;)
I think "tortoiseshell" comes from the appearance of the closed wings. I'm guessing similarly with "sulfer" - but there's no butterfly by that name in the UK. Your Kålfjäril is what we'd call a Large Cabbage White. (Our Small Cabbage White seems to be your Rovfjäril - what does that translate as? A machine translation of "rov" is giving me "loot/ill-gotten" ??)
Interesting when nations stick with Linnaeus and when they go their own way.
No stiffness noticed - thanks for replying. Sorry this followup is late - keeping the night watch at the moment. I somehow found my way here via your musical interests, so it's strange to be talking about lepidoptera. Cooper Clarke, DeVoto, etc... do you perhaps have some connection with 70s Manchester? Anyways, regards from that part of the world, and I hope the cold gets better soon. :)
the cold is definately on its way out.. finally.. still sleep though.. and yes I do have some strange connection to 70s-2000's Manchester concerning friendships I have created but started by the love of that time frame in music.. I see it allot like the fictional "renaissance" of Anthony Willson.. but more about friendships which still exist to this very day.
Aha are from Norway, a geographical neighbour here.. Aha had a few hits in the US, and I did see a documentary of something on VH1 where Henry Rolins said Black Flag and his other projects didn't get signed because they weren't Aha.. but Aha are rather misrepresented...still populare in the UK, to a point.
umm.. butterfly porn!!! I didn't really look at it like that.. more like two butterlflies sharing a meal... sadly the cooking videos take more effort..I'm eventually getting to it..
The funny thing about A-ha.. and I'm not a huge fan..but they have their charm, is that when I first moved to Sweden the single "Summer Moved On" was a hit for a few weeks..really nice moody song too, and then I went to London and it had left the charts when I got home. Last summer 7 years later, I went to Norway.. and I joked to myself.. I bet I will hear A-ha on the radio.. in the morning, in the restaurant for breakfast "Summer Moved On"....
Funny how band popularity moves around eh? They virtually gone in the US now as far as I know. Their newer stuff sounds more synth-pop (sort of like Depeche Mode) than their one-hit wonder - "Take On Me". Oh well. Nice work on the video anyway! :)
Funny that, I saw them on the telly a few months ago.. on a UK based program.. they have a new album it seems.. but I think that this demo tape session stuff I found (pre-Take On Me) really stands the test of time.. they had two albums full of work in it.. I have the studio version of this song.. I really like it but I think they really did like the band "Japan".
that was really well done, it looked like a simple vid of butterflies at first but then went all dream sequency, especially when your son walked past in slo mo..loved it, even Aha sounded okay( don't tell anyone i said that:))
Was it the slow motion? There is nothing that bad about Aha.. I have more against Henry Rolins now days for trying to re-write punk history and saying that they didn't get signed because they weren't "Aha" where as "Aha" weren't even really the image that was sold of "Aha"... but recently they used one of the same producers as Pete Shelley and PiL, but when I say recently that was 5 years ago ;)
I think its a good sign that I am either senile or this is a good video if you are watching it and the first impulse is to rate it!!!! damn it, its mine.. what a silly person I am
The root is the most active part...for colds and stuff..it comes up over winter, so it needs its roots.. I've been using the leaves, but they are not as strong, but there are active biochemicals in them too.
I don't know why it does something for me, but it does...I didn't want to do something just cheaply taking the music and pictures..because its not my music and I'm worried that the pictures rely too much on the music and the music could rely too much upon the pictures.. I don't know.. sort of emotionally charging the image...I didn't know if that could be wrong here. Thanks for your input!!!!
Great video ! 5 *****

You add such interesting music to your videos. Music I had never heard before. Are they famous groups from your country?

Nice! Too bad Aha didn't remain popular in the US after the New Wave era ended. They have some good tunes.

?? i dont get it. Are you comparing humans to butterflies? lol.

ah, not exactly, but if you put it all together, its not as sweet and sugary a message... the song sugests allot of deception in love anyway.

Then again, some butterflies live a long time, some do not.. just like "romance". But butterflies don't live for 10 years, just the memory of them.
