Robotech is simply awsome, for those of us who saw it as children it still has the same things that made it special way-back-when. It may not look like the cartoons today, but it is still very cool

So what? This is how a whole generation of kids got exposed to anime. Without Carl Macek splicing together Robotech from Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada, anime fandom might not have taken off. Compare this to other U.S. animated shows from that same time period and then tell me how horrible it is.

you wouldn't even had heard of Southern Cross or Moespada if it wasn't for Robotech!those two other series,beside being visualy interesting,had no redemming qualities and died out with no following stories,unlike Macross or Gundam who spawn like rabbits.Robotech made them famous and don't get me started on the job of edditing out two moons or making 3 different storyline into something coesive and entertaining.
