@Thejoshualoler101 Those are actually just more buttons on your window. If you go to the in-gmae menu (esc), under the interface options, there is the option of showing "right action bar" 1 and 2. These are actually the other action bars you get by alt+up in your main bar, but just displayed on the side of your screen to make it easier to access. Message me if you can't find the options, and I'll try to give better directions.

How would you go about creating a coordinate macro in the game without actually installing the addon that gives you coords? i see people on thottbot talking about beeing able to make a macro for this often but never known how to do so. would greatly appreciate any help on how to make a coordinate macro.

@Cfknight13 there may be a script function to do that (you can google around for /script functions; they're a derivitive of LUA I believe) but /script commands can get very technical and hairy. I think an addon is the easiest and simplest way to get coordinates (many do coordinates as a secondary function), but if you feel up for a challenge, good luck!

hey i made a few macros a while ago that i dont use anymore. when i delete em they will go away, but when i log out and back in they are still there! and if i make a NEW macro, when i log out and back in its not there! can anybody tellme whats wrong???

i know how to basically escape the character limit. just make a lot of macros then make one macro that is told to open up each one of the other macros. i havent tried it, but could somebody verify if that even works

This is indeed possible, but if you're running out of space in your macro, you may want to check and see if you need a macro or if you really just need an addon.

If it's a text-spamming macro, you may want to shorten it to fit inside the macro (it's rather impolite to spam trade chat with 3 paragraphs of text... and nobody will read all of it anyways)

yea scantace1 u can do more than 1 spell in single macro. just do /cast (spell name), (spell name), (spell name) etc..

@Gaul99 just keep in mind that you can't chain spells in a macro. For example, you can presence of mind/nature'sswiftness/use a trinket or other cooldown and then cast a spell, but you can't chain cast fireballs by stringing a bunch of /cast commands in a macro.

The same applies to melee attacks; once the macro activates the global cooldown it's done.

@naruto0589 castsequence will let you line up a series of spells to hit in a n order, but it won't cast them all for you (which is what some people think it will). You will still need to hit the macro every time you want to cast the next spell in the sequence, which is not what most new macroers are expecting.

Thanks! I use one macro all the time when I'm looking for named people to kill (especially when they're small and hard to find). I just /target their exact name and I can see if they're close to me if I manage to target them or not. Saves me a ton of time

actually, that's a new spell that shaman got a few patches ago. You'll get a bar kind of like the druid shapeshifting bar that will let you drop 4 totems at once. You'll get the first one (Call of the Elements) at level 30.

if you go into the interface menu under the main menu (ESC), go to the "actionbar" section and click the "enable right actionbar 1, right actionbar 2, left actionbar 1, and left actionbar 2.

you can drag it onto your action bar just like any other spell in your spellbook and then bind it to a key using the keybinding interface in the game menu (ESC)

as I said in the video, macros cannot activate multiple abilities that trigger the global cooldown. You can create a castsequence macro that will turn one button into a series of buttons each time you press it, but it can get complicated, and it won't help you manage your shot rotations.

if you want to target a specific person, it would be /target [insert name here]; such as /target Astrael would target me. You have to have a specific target in order for the macro to work, you can't target randomly (that's what tab is for)

there are a few features to help out with that; you can /focus a person to bring up a special targeting frame for them even if you're attacking/healing something else (I use it a lot for polymorphs). There are also some addons out there that will list enemies within a certain range to make them easier to target. Just take a look around; addons can add a lot of functionality macros can't do

There is a command to switch to another action bar, specifically:

/changeactionbar [number]

Which will change your action bar to the specified number. Remember that you'll need a macro to switch you back to your other action bar when you come out of stealth, or you can use:

/swapactionbar 1 2

which will swap between action bars 1 and 2 every time you click it. Hope that helps!

you could probably find the amount of time it takes to cast x amount of arcane explosions then type it in like /castsequence Cone of Cold, Arcane Explosion, Arcane Explosion, Arcane Explosion, or however many times it takes. hope it helps!

as I pointed out in the video, you can not make a macro (or an addon) that will auto-cast spells for you. It is just not possible. Blizzard has blocked any functions that would let you do this so that you have to push the buttons yourself.

absolutely. As I posted in the video, there us a very simple command to cast a single spell with /cast (name of spell). Though to make the most use of your macro, I would recommend having a apwcifix target. for example, mages commonly use this to target and destroy totems:

/target totem

/cast ice lance

If you are the "macro master", why did you type /wave over and over at the end instead of making a macro?

a few things...

1) If you paid attention, you would know that a macro cannot do a sequence of commands requiring a pause (such as waiting for the wave animation to be over before waving again) so there would be no point.

2) if you look closely, the whole waving goodbye was an after thought. I just copied/pasted the earlier /wave segment.

3) I am by no means a 'macro master' there are far better and more qualified people then I. I am simply filling the need for a good introductery video.
