@MyWhiteandblack They can't climb straight up plastic like that, probably because they need to dig in a little. Wood (cabinets) is no problem for them.
@DCstewieG cheers man. just going home now to check did the traps do the business. i kind of hope not now,after realising i catch him alive and set him free in a field.
easiest one ever if i get the little bleeders come back here again i am going to do this at least then i can let it loose in the woods for the foxes to eat

Good!! I think this idea is the best.
If you add a hinge & a little weight to the pipe for automatic reset.
And putting peanut butter upper side of the other end , then you will be able to continue to catch many mice.
