  • @0414locos 07:22 Love can move mountains, Celine Dion (1992), live in "A new day...", Las Vegas,

09:19 warm-up for "Let's talk about love" recording sessions, the second one, I cannot understand in which song it it, an the last one, is also "Love can move mountains", also Vegas....

  • @christoscel Thank You SO MUCH :D

  • Singers as Celine Dion, Lara Fabian, Whithney Houston make singing be singing! They show how to sing almost effortlessly! The sound comes from inside so naturaly and they don't need to push the voice too much ) Thanks for this an amazing video!

  • G5 to B5 total scream... C6 is head voice not chest.

  • @ChariceBillboard Celine doesn't have a head voice. According to French soprano, Regine Crespin, Dion's voice is "comparable to oboe, because of its nasal and fruity timbre and it is mordant in high notes."

Crespin is also circumspect about Dion's highest notes, stating, "She doesn't have a head voice," further remarking, "she uses falsetto," which is "disconnected to the normal voice body."

  • It's funny: at D5 I had still 7 minutes to go!:P

But what an incredible voice, totally admirable!!!:D:D

  • Celine Dion is not the best singer ever!

  • fantastic singer, she always touches my heart thanks Celine

  • JAY LENO CHIN!

  • To be honest ... for an professional soprano no hard work ;-)

  • the best voice in the world and exactly she dont need a whistle note to amaze audience she did it without that for over 30 yrs and she still amze audience .....i thought she had a 5 octave vocal range

  • that note @8:08 is so easy for her...as far as pipes go nobody matches Celine!

  • I'm a singer (check out my page please) there is so much we can all learn from Celine!

  • celine dion has a 5 octave vocal range not 3.4

  • @MrDeo0527 Please. LMAO.

  • ATENTION!!!!! CELINE DION HAS MORE RANGE TO SEE IT:/watch?v=xrTSbbaBhus&feature=channel_video_title AT:7.59 MIN I THINK MORE RANGE :p

  • i like her A5 for some reason

  • what is that song at 5:45 (F#5) ??

  • @matryoshka22 IS ALL BY MYSELF LIVE IN TAKING CHACES TOUR :D

  • adore her

  • she screams

  • This can only be topped by Barbra Streisand's vocal range when she was young

  • this is phenomenal but at 3:51 there's obvious strain in that note because it's THAT high

  • I loved the first C5, what's that song?

  • WHAT SONG IS SHE SINGING AT 6:25 - 6:29

  • @manolapix I think it is ''Love can move mountains'' !

  • WHAT SONG IS SHE SINGING AT 6:25 - 6:29

  • WHAT SONG IS SHE SINGING AT 6:25 - 6:29

  • Two questions.... what song is she singing at 0:54-0:58. second question what is the very first instrumental that's playing when the video opens

  • @Astronomical117

    it's "alone"

and the opening instrumental is "i surrender in vegas"

  • she makes it look so simple, lol.

  • @almendrawr HAHAH, yes but it's not simple. I'm a singer :P

  • Dear Westvoice, G5-E6 are not head voice. They are falsetto. A lot of people don't know that head voice and falsetto are different.

  • @link1991hain I know, Thanks. The video was made a long time ago so yeah... I apologize :P

  • @WestVoice so does that still count? is her VR the same?

  • @WestVoice Also, what bit of her voice is her head voice?

  • Actually they are one & the same, you can research this; with the distinction that FALSETTO is a given TONE of HEAD VOICE, so in essence, it is: HEAD VOICE, because Falsetto is produced via MODAL REGISTER, which constitutes: chest/mixed-or-middle/head/falsetto. the other polar EXTREMES: FRY and WHISTLE are NOT modal, produced by the false cords/edges. Plus, falsetto in females is debated by experts to this day because in their voices it's virtually seamless or can be of similar timbre/tone, etc.

  • @whistlenotelover Falsetto is a different register - it has it's own mechanism. The term head voice is used by voice teachers, when in reality it is the top end of the modal register. You can not crescendo from head voice to falsetto, there is a break. So it makes more sense to dub them as different registers.

  • in a way you are right because falsetto does tend to sound as more monotonous in color/dynamic but the thing is properly trained operatic female singers are known to produce pianissimos with the help of falsetto, and they actually know how to 'blend' or even out the passagio so there is no break and instead sounds seamless in tone production.

  • a gifted singer is capable of opening a given tone in falsetto but if they need to "swell" the sustained vocal line, in order to apply vibrato or ring it out powerfully [over an orchestra] then the mechanism would resort back into modal where you can hear more timbre color suddenly come back, as opposed to the thinner/whiter tone falsetto tends to have. Soprano Patricia Petibon transitions from falsetto into true head/modal SEAMLESSLY, at 0:47, in this link: youtube.com/watch?v=LUBZn6G_pd0

  • @link1991hain could u plz explain difference between the two, if u don't mind me asking

  • Good range... for a woman.

  • what is the title of the song at 5:52 minutes?

  • @paoloilsolitario it is a transition of "the power of the dream" (olympic games Atlanta 1996) and high note of "alone" (taking chances tour)

  • qual'è il titolo della canzone al minuto 05:52 ? thankss

  • Celine Dion is a technical singer and obviously very well trained vocally, but she also emotes and that's why she's a legend and someone people's always gonna remember for being one of the best singer to ever grace earth.

  • @CDionLive I've never heard a purely chested F# from her, always sounds very mixed to me. Even her F# in the studio of "Alone"...but yeah, there's an Eb6 I saw her do in a vocal warmup on here, you should update this vid with it.

  • @mellynumerounoo Pure chest ends around F#4 for females, anyway, so Celine (or anyone else) couldn't do it if she wanted.

  • @Chimier I know this, but it's still different from the actual TECHNIQUE of mixing.

  • @Chimier Where does pure chest stop for men???

  • @stardusth2o LOL you really expect me to ever answer a question from you? Funny.

  • @Chimier Wow bitter much? I'm the one who actually has something to be bitter about. OH and you don't watch Celine currently? From your comment to @mellynumerounoo that you left a WEEK ago...seems preeetty recent :/

  • @stardusth2o Bitter? LOL I don't even know you. I just don't care to answer you, that's all.

Commenting on a video and watching one are two different things. I don't necessarily have to watch this to comment on it.

  • @Chimier But still, you took the time to look it up and click on it just to comment? Even though you don't like her. IDK how things go over on your side, but here on Earth, when we don't like something we tend to stay away from it.

  • @stardusth2o Who said I looked it up? It could have been sent to me by a friend or I could have been cruising and saw it, then clicked on it.

I don't know Celine, so my "dislike" for her is purely musical. Ever heard of the mute button?

  • @stardusth2o Anyway, if you want to know the answer to your question, either ask someone else or go and read a book/do research.

  • @Chimier Thanks.

  • @stardusth2o No problem :)

  • @stardusth2o

Lol that's funny 'cuz you went to comment negative stuff to Charice's vocal range video... So ironic.

  • @lilontiv1 Negative stuff? Try constructive criticism. Saying Charice sounds unnatural is not hating in any way. And I never said I didn't like Charice, I just said that I don't particularly like her singing. But I have said on many occasions that I think she has talent and is actually a good singer. I'm not a big fan, but that doesn't mean that I hate her. Don't start making accusations and slurs when you don't even know what you're talking about. :/

  • @Chimier "Oops!"

  • @stardusth2o Ooops? Got that right lol

  • @CDionLive she doesn't do F5 or F#5 in chest...

  • What's the song at 4:10?

  • WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE SONG AT 7:23 C6 PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

  • @esteban55200 The song is "Love Can Move Mountains" she performed it live while she was doing her 5-year long Las Vegas show! Isn't it incredible? She's the only one I've heard who can hit a C6 without sounded like they're screaming.

  • what's the name of the song at 7:05

  • @stardusth2o RIVER DEEP MOUNTAIN HIGH CONCERT LIVE 2008

  • 4:13 is her larynx high there?

  • @stardusth2o Yes, at 4:13 the larynx is raised. The held note is strained and unstable indeed.

  • @Stefano94x Thanks :)

  • @Stefano94x Is it high at 4:41 too?

  • @stardusth2o Yes, and the emission was as throaty as at 4:13

  • It is ridiculous about how many of these celine stans will say she has a 4 to 6 octave range. I cant believe the ignorance of people and how they just act like they know everything. Nice video, great notes!

  • @ benladeenful,if you watch that performance of knock on wood, you ll see that she actually hit 2 E6s,the first one is hit after a belted Eb/E5.she jumped one octave higher.

  • @CDionLive

I'd love to hear that, the color of her voice is soprano and I think she probably has the normal extension of a lyric soprano, up to E6 perhaps, but never used it

  • You can certainly tell after she took her break in the late 90's she got voice lessons from Seth Riggs and learned how to use a mix, suddenly when she came back she had a whole new major third in her upper register she didn't have before.

  • I Love Celine Dion, but I just dislike how she mixes...it sounds more heady than chesty...

  • actually i really confius about her E6 note.because there are 2 voices in E6 video. After the another girl said ''i ammm...'' head voice sound was heard.after that, one head voice heard again.so,which one the celine's E6 note between them?

  • Can u link me

    4:07

  • I still don't get the all by myself phenomena. When she hits that E5 it's not actually E5, it's somewhere in between E5 and Eb5 (closer to Eb - esp. in the grammys performance), yet it's not out of pitch...Judging by the key it's supposed to be Eb.

  • whats the song at 1:12?

  • what's the song at 6:56 please :)

  • whats the song at 6:14 ?

  • that E6 is a simple exclamation, she never did a D6....

    her highest note is C#6..

  • I've watched videos of Beyonce's and Celine Dion's vocal ranges and both of their E6's were simple 1 second exclamations but you should hear Miley Cyrus' E6 live Driveway Berlin. It's amazing and I can honestly say better than both of Beyonce's and Celine's shouts...I'm not bashing them but you gotta check it out.

    watch?v=4I5ZdFnkeIc

    It's at 3:37.

  • @ColoradoFtw75 oh please don't even mention here Mailey Cyrus... I'm begging you for a mother of God! -,-

  • I don't really enjoy Celine's singing...but I will admit technically she's pretty decent.

The best part of her range is F3 - D5 (chest/belting). Her first C5 sounds beautiful...as does her Imagine D5. Also her head voice sounds quite nice below Bb5....but overall it's small in sound.

    Nice job WestVoice ^^.

  • @KyoHanjin HAHAHAH HATER! shove it!

  • @parachuteboi

How am I hating? Is this thought coming from someone who lacks reading comprehension skills?

  • @KyoHanjin are you a girl? all you do is about you tube. i bet ur a fat girl who sits at home without a date.

  • @parachuteboi

Actually I'm a guy...and trust me...I do many things besides go on youtube.

    Now stop bothering people.

  • @KyoHanjin ur the one who needs to stop bothering people with ur fake subtle posts. we all know what ur stupid agenda is. ur dismissed bitch.

  • @parachuteboi

Umm...what's fake about my post? I stated what is true...

Vocally Celine is good....musical value is another story.

    You fail child ^^.

  • @KyoHanjin yea keep going . ur on track with ur agenda.. chip away at Celine little by little, keep going.

  • @KyoHanjin Thank You! And ignore those stans, they should effing get a life.

  • @WestVoice

No problem and what you said is very true ^^.

  • @KyoHanjin Apparently Celine fans are just as crazy as Regine fans *shrugs*

  • @Breniznit

Hahaha all stans are like that ^^.

  • @KyoHanjin I'm sure celine will be thrilled to discover that such a vocal expert declares her voice "pretty decent"

  • @chimorshipahnlgo

Her voice and amount of talent is great...no one can deny that.. Technique wise..yes she's decent ^^.

Btw..I never claimed to be an expert lol.

  • @KyoHanjin she's a coloratura, they have smaller sound but they gain elsewhere ;)

  • @alexdeltaceline

Celine is definitely NOT a coloratura voice type. They have an ample amount of agility...and Celine's voice isn't very agile. Not to mention her timing is poor....

  • Comment removed

  • @KyoHanjin watch?v=f63RKg-S77Y with that said I don't think she's a coloratura personally, she's said she's a mezzo-soprano

  • @reginetan3903

Yeah she's a mezzo...has more weight and comfort in her mid-register than any other area....from the lightness of her voice...most likely a lyric mezzo.

  • @alexdeltaceline she's been called a coloratura but many professionals. its probably the range (and way) she uses her voice that u don't see it

  • @KyoHanjin Technically pretty decent? She is incredible.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos

I wouldn't call her incredible...but she is talented.

  • @KyoHanjin Listen to her F5 (high F) in "All By Myself": she sustains the note immensely long for such an extreme high note and also blends it really well and adds intense amount of chestiness into it. Truly a fantastic vocalist.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos

That note is extremely throaty. A lot of Celine's upper belts (above E5) are pushed, thin and poorly produced. Not to mention even when she performs All By Myself live 1 or 2 keys down.

Her River Deep, Mountain High would have been a MUCH better example of her executing a belted F5.

  • @KyoHanjin She puts a lot of power behind it, throaty or not. Also, performing few steps down is wise choice to preserve her voice.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos

To have true vocal power....the sound should be properly placed and free to resonate. There's none of that in that note. It's just loud and thin.

I never condemned her for lowering the key...however..live her production of the all by myself climatic belt is overall poor.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos I think she's incredible too :) her performances of songs like "le blues du businessman" show her insane mid range belting power

  • @KyoHanjin she used to belt better in the early 90's. there were a lot of rare clips from the late 80's and early 90's that impressed me, I'm waiting for cdionlive to make the vid :P I would say though that her technique has improved dramatically with this new show after she started getting lessons for a few months again, maybe there's hope yet

  • damn, i grew up listening to celine and love her very much, but leona's whistle notes are way better

  • Celine has a very nice mid range (C5 and D5) but a very ugly and strained F and G note and a horrid head voice. Her low notes are very average as well.

  • wht's the song at 6:13 ?

  • I would like to point out that her range according to this video is 4.4 octaves, not 3.4. I think you counted the notes and not the numbers of the octaves.

  • @Nick5206011215 Ummm no... B2-B5 is 3 octaves... E6 is 5 semitones away from B5... One octave has 12 semitones.. And by the way, the next note after B5 is C6... so it's B5, C6, C#6, D6, Eb6, E6...

  • @Nick5206011215 i agree Celine is like 4.4. to 5

  • @WestVoice

Why does it say that she has 5 octaves on her Wikipedia page? (Scroll Down to Voice)

  • @ZakrazakOfTheXMen Because wikipedia is unreliable, and a lot of internet articles are unreliable also. I remember that a couple of years ago, the site said that Mariah has an 8 octave vocal range and Jennifer Hudson has a 5 octave vocal range.

  • @WestVoice

I swear one day it also said Celine was an Opera singer LOL!

  • @WhitneyElizabethH LOL! Really? That's weird.

  • @WhitneyElizabethH U seem jealous to me. U look on Celines wiki page and ur not a fan? hmm strange!

  • Comment removed

  • @yoshisuniverse I am convinced of the same thing.

  • what's the song at 6:48

  • @stardusth2o Love Can Move Mountains :)

  • @WestVoice THANK YOU!!!!

P.S. I love this video. I watch it every day lol

  • @yoshisuniverse Excuses....she can't go higher than a D6 or E6.

  • what's the song at 7:11

  • 2:55

    Her best belt ever

  • SO Celine has more Range then Whitney? I thought Whitney did :(

  • @WhitneyElizabethH Well whitney obviously has a stronger and better voice though ;) Celine is good, but whitney destroys her on almost every belting not, and not to mention whitneys amazing head voice!

  • @musicguy713 eek, guess you haven't heard whitney sing in the pas couple years...

  • @scramasboy past*

  • @scramasboy I was not talking about the whitney of today i was refering to her in her prime.

  • @scramasboy whitney soiunded awefull lol

  • oh my.. i didn't know she could do those A5

  • Celine is the queen of C#5's She rocks that note like nobody's business!!! She can really sing!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @CDionLive thank you so much :)

  • what sogn in chest voice B5 and C6 in 7:18 and 7:23?please

i know that song now.that's ''love can move mountain''.

  • @benladeenful Love can move mountains

  • @CDionLive thank you!
