Can you tell me, what kind of Brownchurch roof rack you have for your Freelander, cause I just found some for Defender and Discovery. Do you have a type number or was it specially modificated for your car?
hi there, nice car. how did you lift it? I am researchiing about those 2" lift kits, but I am hearing about that the cv join wont last long because the new angle. have you had any problem with that? I am starting my camel trophy replica and I will post some photos about the progress. cheers
That is a myth mate look up the court case details the 1.8 K engine is one of the best performing engines on the market. It was just a bit underpowered in this vehicle, but is great in the Lotus Elise. All court proceedings where stopped against Land Rover ove the gasket blowout, as they where able to prove that other engines had a much higer failure rate than the 1.8 K Series.
@denisjcilliers I spent over 3000 Euro in one year with two blown gaskets, and the repairs were done at the dealer... It's a myth because it didn't happen to you yet.

I own a Freelander registered in March, 2000. They were available in Europe at least since late 1997. The Freelander was used in the last Camel Trophy in 1998. When I look at this video I wonder how soon the viscous coupling failed, the IRD (intermediate reduction differential) broke up and the rear axles got destroyed. The Freelander was never meant to be that "extreme". This guy never actually said how and why it all ended. But I still like this car, it's ok for light offroad adventures.

I can't realy see the frrelnder taking 5 years to be made available in Canda when it was readily available throughout the rest of the world in 1997.

i could well be wrong but the my date of first reg is 18/03/1998 i didn't have it then but there,s it got recipts going back to not long after then for servicing and parts

i have got a 2" lift kit on mine, have you had any problems with the track rods because mine some times bottom out!!!!!!!!! any ideas???????? cheers
