I want to know what you think about the MacBook Air. It is everything I need. I dont need USB ports or a DVD drive. Portability is what I need, but I've heard is very underpowered compared to the Pro. What do you think?

I find the Pro very very light, yet powerful at the same time. The MBA is EVEN more lighter. The MBA, to me, is all about the weight. Thats the bonus. I don't think its underpowered, its got a; SSD, decent processor, RAM etc. If you want the MBA, best to go down the refurbished route or student discount.

student loan for the win i guess lol. well for now anyway, wont be a few years down the line lol. to be honest, the only major thing that ive bought using my own money is the macbook and the iphone. the rest are just companies sending me stuff, which goes back to you guys ;)

Every Macbook has an isight - its standard across the board. Biggest reason would be that it works just out the box. The hardware and software controlled in order to give the end-user an experience of their lifetime - and I think this is why I prefer Apple's over standard Windows machines.

i think rebranding the macbook to macbook pro was stupid because it is a macbook and that is there best selling laptop and they added pro on the and made it sound not right because everyone knows is it a macbook but ,hope you like you purchase and enjoy using snow leopard

I think they are going to possibly extend the 'macbook' range and this is why they upgraded the unibodys to pro's.

I'm seriously considering selling my 1st gen iMac and replacing it with a 13 or 15" MBP. Where did you sell yours if you don't mind me asking?

I was considering eBay but the fees will be high.

although ebay has high fees, it has the most buyers on it. its a gamble worth taking if other alternatives (classified ads, craigslist) fail. i sold mines to a mate.

Plenty of reasons; better OS, better customer support (apple are well known in the industry for their customer service support), value for money (well it was for me anyway cause i took part in the student promo).

the reason why i am swaying towards the vaio is because of the screen size. 13 inchs seems too small and if i wanted a 15inch mac it would cost me alot of money

the 13" is perfectly fine, trust me. with the spaces feature (multiple desktops) - it works very fine indeed. i would suggest visiting an apple reseller/retailer and checking them out in person.

even our tech support guy at school who HATES Apple, and all things apple and thinks everyone who owns one are fanboys was surprised with the customer service.
