  • Music has no color, and neither does Johnny! I do find it interesting that the blues has a predominately white fanbase. African-Americans these days don't seem to care that much about it, preferring hip-hop and R&B...and those genres themselves are huge among young whites! It's like the blacks invent, and the whites adopt, styles of music. I'm not saying good or bad, just observing a pattern...

  • @pogomole

I think you are right about that, black people a lot times seem more innovative in music, and I think history proves this point.

  • wooo fucking great!!!

  • this is "If I had Possession over Judgment Day" by Robert Johnson who has the first recording of this jig ..... Muddy Waters did another version called "Rollin and Tumblin" that was very similar .... but this one is definitely a Robert Johnson version

  • Johnny and Edgar are the MEN! Such talent

  • In an interview I had with B.B. King in Tampa a long time ago B.B. King told me he didn't resent Johnny Winter, but he did resent Capitol Records for making Winter their blues man. B.B. said that he and his guitar Lucile were the ones that paid their dues, Johnny hadn't lived the life like he had.

  • @MrFritz136 Hey give the guy a break, hes an albino ;)

  • @MrFritz136 i think he definately paid his dues. dude had a pretty brutal life

  • One of thee best

  • the real deal

  • One of my all time faves. Incredible talent.

  • very good

  • hes the best blues player ive ever seen.its a shame tht alot of people dont know about him

  • white people and blues do not mix

  • @chalino19 idiot

  • @chalino19 assholes on youtube and blues dont mix either.

  • @chalino19 I have pity for you,if you believe what you have typed on this page,,truely,,what a shame,

  • Originally written by Hambone Willie Newbern, however 1st verse here sings "If I had possession over judgement day", which makes it Robert Johnson

  • So perfect, the dobro is amazing guitar !! Johnny is a legend !!

  • Only one word. Unintelligible.

  • This guy is so often overlooked as one of the blues greats. I know SRV was amazing, but JW was doin' it long before.

  • @fngrpkn06 Amen to that! He's in my top five greatest guitar slingers of all time. He was playing like this when SRV was still in diapers. SRV was great, but Johnny was a pioneer.

  • @fngrpkn06 Over looked by whom?? TRUE Blues fans know who JW is!!! If they dont they are

    pretend blues fans.

  • actually, this was written by robert johnson and the title is if i had posession over judgement day.

  • Ahhhh shit!

  • J.W. owns this old standard now, imo. In fact, he did as soon as he started playing it years ago.

  • There are some artists who are so good that they completely absorb you into their work. They play to your emotion, rather than to just to your ear. Johnny does this...doesn't he?

    Great post!

  • He definitely has the blues thing going on!.....You are all right...this isnt' Rollin and a Tumblin.........nevertheless it's great!

  • God i just want to drink , listen and have good time when i hear this.

  • This guy always had the goods.

  • @JohnnyBuff My friend, you nailed it. Fan since '68 or'69

  • Only one word. Authentic.

  • what a insanely great voice and the guitar is perfectly picked

  • Johnny is GREAT!!!!!

  • Isn't this Preachin' blues?

  • It's actually from "If I Had Possession Over Judgment Day", but it kind of turned into "Rollin' and Tumblin'" somewhere along the line.

  • @Bigbud61 nope,not even close

  • That was one amazing show and a fun day!

  • Great song and I first heard it on the Progressive Blues Experiment. I've been a Winter fan ever since!

    Thanks for sharing.
