At the computer shop I work at we use a small leaf blower to clean out pc's. I was shocked at first that this was the method, but after having done many times, I don't think I would ever use anything else lol.
@gemgem92 no not really it can over spin the fans in ur computer causing the bearings to over spin faster then what they were designed for and will cause them to burnt out quicker
Just done this with my electric lower and it worked perfectly. My Pc is even quieter now. I think my fans was a bit dusty also. Another tip is to use a pen or pencil in your moving fans to stop them. The fans spin at enormous speeds, I don't think that is good.
Why do you think I am showing video and after video of this process? How else can I prove its safe? Just don't use a gas powered leaf blower and use a very inexpensive electric leaf blower only set on its lowest setting (if offered) Try it and see for yourself.
Thats a lot of work that the leaf blower can do for you (unless you're a smoker and its tar-covered dust which must be wiped clean). The amount of voltage created by the fan spinning as a result of the leaf blower is negliable at best and does not pose a voltage threat to your motherboard or its components.
i'm not a smoker thats nasty, my house is from the 1950s so its dusty. I have this blower fan from an old hair dryer and I rigged it to a 12V car lighter cord and it works great I use that and my modified Shark Vac its like a dustbuster but also with a 12V car lighter cord on it.
I use my commercial grade air compressor with an inline water filter hooked up to it, 150 psi works wonders for blowing computers, TV's VCR's and stuff like that out, the leaf blower is a new one though, never heard of a leaf blower being used on one, interesting.
That thing is soooo dirty i wouldnt even let that on my table!!! Just the other day i used an air compressor instead,and i found that it works 4x BETTTER! The only thing is when you use an air compressor there is a little bit of moisture!

the Fan on my CPU is also an AVC fan. and sometimes I take the fan off my CPU when the computer is off and unplugged and I clean that.
Dust = heat
Heat = the enemy of computers.
