The original tribes was originally supposed to be like any other shooter, but the "Skiing" was invented when people began to exploit a glitched loophole in the programming which allowed the players to build up speed when moving downhill, and then jumping when they started to go back uphill. Halo's actually not bad. In fact, IMO it's the best modern shooter out there (Plays like a retro shooter while keeping modern influences). What do you think?

Anyone who thinks Tribes is a ripoff of Halo has either: A) Never played Halo or B) Never played Trives. Either way it's a shame, both of these are great games in their own right.
Why are people talking about Halo with this? Seriously. As a fan of both games I see no similarities past the fact that they're both futuristic Sci-Fi shooters. Quake, Unreal Tournament, and Halo have just as much in common with Tribes as Star Wars does to Star Trek. Probably even less. If you actually played these games you would know this. Ascend looks to play just like the old Tribes games and I'm hard pressed to find anything that seems as though it has blended in with any of those games.
Guys don't be discouraged with all the new weapons, loadouts, etc. The game still plays the same like another tribes game. If your really good with spinfusor, mortar, sniper and can get midairs all the time (like me) then you won't even notice the power of some of the new weapons. Also, you guys don't have to by loadouts. Yep, don't have to. You can either buy them or win them through gameplay.
The game looks pretty. I just cant fathom the gameplay as intense as T1. Go watch the legacy video for those of you have never played Tribes. Remember this was in 1998. Before most people were even playing online games.

Why are people talking about Halo with this? Seriously. As a fan of both games I see no similarities past the fact that they're both futuristic Sci-Fi shooters. Quake, Unreal Tournament, and Halo have just as much in common with Tribes as Star Wars does to Star Trek. Probably even less. If you actually played these games you would know this. Ascend looks to play just like the old Tribes games and I'm hard pressed to find anything that seems as though it has blended in with any of those games.

Guys don't be discouraged with all the new weapons, loadouts, etc. The game still plays the same like another tribes game. If your really good with spinfusor, mortar, sniper and can get midairs all the time (like me) then you won't even notice the power of some of the new weapons. Also, you guys don't have to by loadouts. Yep, don't have to. You can either buy them or win them through gameplay.

The game looks pretty. I just cant fathom the gameplay as intense as T1. Go watch the legacy video for those of you have never played Tribes. Remember this was in 1998. Before most people were even playing online games.
