  • What was the point of this vid? A camera having its nose dragged along the ground has no real sense of speed if that's what the purpose of the video was. It might as well have been a movie showing the front suspension of a truck wobbling up and down on a journey to the Diner. I'm glad the conversion was successful but in Britain you'd be arrested for breaking the law on maximum speed of electric powered bicycles (15mph)

    Informative video no.

    Entertaining no.

    Waste of filming time yes.

  • All I see is asphalt.

  • My Izip Street Enlightened with the 200Wrear hub motor showed the same no-pedal speed results as this.

My model has a Pedal Torque Sensor, that will only allow the motor to operate when the rider pedals, and then only in proportion to the rider's effort (torque). To bypass this I rigged an override button, which connects the red and green sensor wires to the controller. I tend to use the PTS to get up to speed, then if I'm not battling a hill or headwind, I just engage the override!

  • hi.i have a 250w motor 24v.the controller it is a 24v 20 amp.if a add an 45 amp battery it will happen some thin whit the controller?

    tx

  • If I have a 36V battery pack, where do I plug the + and - wires in the three hole female plug which leads to the controller ?

  • look closer at the plug,it is marked with + and -

  • I just want to thank you dude...

after seeing this clip and noticing Canadian Tire had them on sale last week for $349.

    I bought an I-zip ... what a cool bike

  • I just finished making a 11 tooth for the schwinn e bike and installed it. Princess Auto sells an eleven tooth that has to be modified to fit. On a stock battery charge we got the bike to go 43km then the motor stops assisting. Next will be to up the voltage I guess.

  • Problem is the factory controller is a 24 volt 35 amp. That much load the batteries won't last very long at all

  • Hi Thanks, and another thank you for doing the work to crank this bike up

your vid are you pedaling? (LOL)

so here we go. going to check out a plug

to see first, if there is an adapter out there for the stock power wires that could be used to attach to a 36 Volt battery

how did you attach the battery. to the plug?

i wouldn't mind paying you to help create a cool adapter extension that would link to a 36volt battery, for those of us that think this bike is a cool bike to modify

    Larry

  • It's easy to do,and i'm sure you could find the plug somewhere.

I ran wires from the battery in my backpack to the plug, that's it.

  • how do you plugin a 36volt battery and what kind? I can't find a way to do it? Do you bypass the stock Battery? Got some simple instructions for a speed wanna be? Have to have a line up at the macdonalds take out....

    just nee some simple instructions..

    Many Many Many Thanks

  • I used an old plug from a computer power supply.Had to break off the top plug and turn it sideways and epoxy it back in(break the bracket, not the actually tooth of the plug).

Solder my power wires to it,

Then i just plugged it directly into the battery plug and left the Stock Izip battery at home.

  • great video!!!!!! did you just add another 12 volts?

  • I just plugged in a 36 volt battery had left over from last year to test it.

  • This must be in canada, the Mcdonalds was slow as shit.

  • May I ask. Is this an external 24 volt geared motor running @ 36 volts instead. I have a 24 volt motor just like that I think. Is it safe to run 36 volts through it without destroying the motor? I just don't wanna ruin mine. Thanks for any feedback. Your right, ebiking is definitely an effective way to get around.

  • It's the stock motor and controller that came on the bike.

The motor does get a bit warmer but they are so cheap,it won't hurt to upgrade if this one dies after a year.

    The speed is 28kmh max @ with the stock 24volt battery,and 38kmh @36 volts

  • How cheap? define cheap? where do YOU get them cheap? TIA - great demo!
