I just watched this. Wasn't sure what I was getting into - but what an outstanding film. The way it was shot, the acting, it was terrific. I thought it did a good job of trying to get into the mind of killer where other movies failed like Matthew Bright's Ted Bundy.

Amazing and chilling movie. Jonas Ball was excellent as that deranged piece of shit. I also saw "Chapter 27" with Jared Leto and he looked and sounded just like the slime. I just watched this. Wasn't sure what I was getting into - but what an outstanding film. The way it was shot, the acting, it was terrific. I thought it did a good job of trying to get into the mind of killer where other movies failed like Matthew Bright's Ted Bundy.

This movie is shit.
The name "The Killing of John Lennon" shows it all, no class, no morals, and no respect. They just want to make a buck off John Lennons name. The reason people kill our great artists and leaders is movies like this. The story of Mark Champman isn't even an intresting one, to glorify a waste of breathe in this light is down right disgusting.

I really cannot whatsoever see how The Catcher in the Rye could've made him want to kill John Lennon. It is a great book that's sad and moving, but it's not like Holden ever kills someone in the book. He is someone who wants to get attention, I understand that, but he doesn't at any point attempt to get it in this sort of way. A great piece of literature, but not a reason for murder.

As for the films, I think that they are sick and disgusting, Chapman is being given what he wants, fame, the only reason that he killed Lennon. I know a lot of people are against this movie being released, but it's a horrible part of history like Charles Manson, Richard Speck, Dahmer, Sirhan etc. and films have been made about them as well. It's not glorifying the dirty son of a whore who killed Lennon, but showing him to be the lowlife piece of crud he really is.

Amazing and chilling movie. Jonas Ball was excellent as that deranged piece of shit. I also saw "Chapter 27" with Jared Leto and he looked and sounded just like the slime. They're both excellent films that should be seen, but I thought this one was a bit more riviting than "Chapter 27". I hope the parole board watched these films every other October right before Chapturd is brought before them. He'll NEVER get out of prison!

... Though I do realize there's been indi-movies based on people like Dahmer and Ted Bundy and there's a new movie being made on Charles Manson. For some reason, this one is something that bothers me most of all. Maybe it's just because of the fact that it really is giving the guy (who's still alive by the way) the romanticized, almost homage, that he was going for and most desiring in the first place, which had, before the production of this movie, been more-less denied.
