I know what you mean about faces, but i think he isjust TRYING ot act morserious, than he actually is (for the election). And he has to appear a serious person, at this time.
But when i look at McCain, i feel almost terror, as i see a sadist, who would probably hurt me, if he could (or even knew where i lived).
basically...i don't trust a person who has a misaligned face. this obama has charms and good speech on making people live on illusion. try driving a vehicle with a misaligned tires...thats obama's face.
Beel1813: You are very insensitive to say the words you said about bringing my son home in a body bag. It could be your neighbor, you co-worker a family member, it is a human being no matter what party what color or race. It is a heart beating who is there overseas looking after us. No matter if the war was 4 the right or wrong reason. Please respect the military mothers who's heart goes for our soldiers out there. God bless the US. I love you son and I miss you.
Vote however you like, but do it for good reason. To say you're voting Obama to see "rednecks squeal" is a racist comment and a lousy reason to vote for Obama. Don't call Republicans racists and immediately make a racist statement against them. Many Obama supporters are like you in that they don't think about why they're voting Obama- in fact they don't care or possibly even know why. They are voting for him, period. That's SCARY and reason enough to say they're not responsible enough to vote.
He's been muslim and even if it's a grave sin say that your not muslim when you are he wouldn't tell people, vote for me even though i'm muslim. plus he's democratic and democrats support gay marrige.
They also bombed US Embassys and US warships under a Democratic presidency. Clinton did jack shit when 2 US embassys in Africa were bombed, Clinton did shit when the USS cole was bombed, why dont you come over to my profile and look at the big list of al Qaeda and their allied attacks.
Congress can change this country, but the Democrats dont do jack shit ether, yeah blame the entire countrys failure on Bush when its the fucking Democratic controlled Congress thats just as iresponsible.
How to be a Good Democrat: Step 1: Open mouth. Step 2: Say something dumb. Step 3: Back track. Step 4: Deny you said it. Step 5: Blame the Republicans. Step 6: Go to Step 1.
So yeah, vote for Obama who also wants to take away your guns, hell when the nuclear bombs are falling on your house, who you going to blame? When al Qaeda sets off a nuclear bomb in this country, who you going to blame? The republicans? Just in case you forgot: DEMOCRAT CONTROLLED CONGRESS HAS LOWER APPROVAL RATINGS THEN BUSH.
I'd rather Senator Obama "flip-flop" on policies regarding the Iraq War rather than support a candidate who's economic adviser believes that we're in a "mental recession".
oh this pres race is so funny, mccn crying over bad media coverage but everytime i turn the channel it seems like barrack badgering time! birds of a feather flock together! liars it tell u liars!
Same old plan. Campaign to the far left to sew up your base, then move to the center to draw the other side in. Obama is a puppet of the DNC and hasn't the brains nor the experience to run this country. I take it back, he'll run it allright, right into the ground.
They did not do anything except dancing in the streets while the World Trade Center was burning.. they have their moment of celebration while 3,000 people are dying and their relatives and friends are crying in anguish and horror.
he wants to break the souvereignity ogf PAkistand, he says he would actif Musharaf would not. This is a war crime even against Osama Binladen. if the target value is high enough america acts. This is immoral and illegal. what would the mission look like aseal brigade or worse a predator drone will kill him. the collateral that will happen is murder. im am not a leftie.
i am pro justice. we cannozt break any countries souverinity to murder innocent bystanders or bin laden himself.
if the usa want to be the moral beacon you should play by the rules. and maybe you should have to read the rules. there are harvard and yale educated historians who do not know that the nuremberg principles are part of the un justice system.
stop the idea of preemptive strikes and state terror.play by the rules. make an international treaty with pakistan ensuring his arrestation. get pakistani police officers on board of the seal mission helicopters. that is strong principled leadership.
when america was the moral beacon of the world, you wnated to arrest hitler. you would have given him a fair proccess.
Haraldblum - screw the rules, they were broken on 9/11. This enemy has no uniform, no headquaters, no verifiable state or country. You can't play by the old rules, you have to hit them before they hit you and eliminate them like the cancer they are.
can you remember that any arab ever invited israel to be its new neighbour now but israel drove them out by the millions. israel
was from its start racist. we did not care we
vetoed the truth in the un.
we let israel kill hundreds civilains by rocket fire from the helicopters firing at terroristci leaders. this way israel killed 8 times the civilians they lost.
palestininas did not invite us and they stroke back on 9.11
the iraquis did not invite the usa and you shocked and awed them, yet they have they have torn your economy down (with the enormous waste of money in iraque)
do you really want to break the souverignity of pakistan. they are an atomic nation, they have long range missiles. and they are about to remove western friendly musharraf.
You've got a lot of good ideas here, haraldblum73, but the palestinians didn't take down the world trade centers, our support for Isreal did that. The iraqi people didn't destroy our economy- the Bush administrations War on oversight and accountability, coupled with the systematic deregulation of industries controlling our credit market did that. Essentially, the Republicans have made a mess of things. Why you're trying to make Iraqis responsible for that is beyond my understanding...
but you live on imports and you can continue to as long as the usa is the trusted world currency the more nations invests in dollar the more your dollar is worth.
but if your goverment wastes 1.5 billions in a mad war goverments and people loose trust in the usa and buy less dollars. this let the dollar sink.
this is the iraque war part of damage done to your economy.
if you prepare for the next mad wars the dollar will sink in advance
The Iraqi war has nothing to do with our economy. Our economy suffers from greed, both consumers and lenders who tried to make too much money in the real estate market. That along with idiots like Al Gore and the rest of the wacko environmentalists who corrupted the enrgy market and sent it into a tailspin, are the reasons our economy is suffereing. If democrats would just let us win this fricking war and drill for our own oil, we'd again be the greatest superpower this planet has ever seen.
I'm not sure you have realized this but we have already won. We won the war when we overthrew the regime, we instated a new one, and that is what our goal is. The U.S Government was hiring OIL FREIGHT DRIVERS IN IRAQ, THREE MONTHS BEFORE WE ANNOUNCED WAR. Explain that? Our job there is done, no more hand holding, bring our troops back for a rest before places like Korea bomb the hell out of us while we're not looking. We are not surrendering, we are passing the reigns to the new Iraqi Government
yaya52- How the HELL are Democrats keeping us from winning a war President Bush already said we won?. Remember? The Democrats have only had the Congress 19 months and they have NEVER turned down a request from Bush for more power nor money for this war of lies.
What happened to Republican belief in PERSONAL RESPONSIBLITY?!
Quit whining and blaming others for the weakness and mistakes of Bush/Cheaney.
America will only return to a TRUE superpower when we turn the page on the Bush war of lies.
First of all, lets not be stupid jorge - GW was referring to the end of the Hussein dictatorship. He had no expectation that Al Qaida would invade Iraq. Thats point one. The Democrats continually request removing the troops, as their success is becoming evident. The war will "end" when we win, plain and simple.
Wow, just wow. To think that, that many people in this country don't know the definition of tactics. What he said, VERY PLAINLY if your educated enough to understand, is that he will issue the mission, "COME HOME" and then listen to the commanders on the ground on how to tactically complete that mission. Strategy is planning a succession of moves, tactics is the planning of the individual moves. There is a difference! If he says he will listen on tactics, it means the strategy is unchanged. Duh.
Thats the problem, you don't even as commander in cheif, command your generals to SURRENDER, while we're winning the war, and tell them to go F*&k them selves if they say, "no, wait, we're winning"!.
Obama is an idiot, plain and square. He's not fit to command the controls of a remote control car, let alone the greatest free country this planet has ever seen.
Obama has betrayed us on FISA and is now back peddling on Iraq... I think I'll just stay at home in November. It appears their are no saviors, no heros, no one with a backbone and our country is lost. So who do we vote for next?
It's ironic that democrats are still being trapped by Fox News which, invites them on only to play sound bites from their comments. Fox News simply offers the absolute worst journalism. It should be made law that news networks report the truth. The partisanship is so obvious at the network that dumb viewers can't notice it. All these geese are quacking in this clip just to convey one nonsensical claim: Barack flip-flops! What part of he wants out of Iraq "strategically" don't people understand?
No, what's ironic is that most of this isn't even Fox News and you made those comments, and even with the clips of Fox News, most of the comments were being made by the liberal commentators on the panel.
I agree, it is ironic of my part to attribute the entire clip to Fox News. Nonetheless, the statements made of Fox News in my paragraph remain true. In the comment, I alluded to many of the instances in which Fox News did just that, i. e. the Jesse Jackson blunder of late.
It's obvious to many that Fox News seems to be unaware that good journalism means showing a neutral position, rather than subliminally persuading partisan agendas.
A number of its pundits lack integrity, notably O'Reilly!
You have it backwards - Obama was the one stating it wouldn't work no matter what. Now he is changing positions now that the actual facts are becoming too overwhelming to ignore. Obama is moving toward Bush, not the other way around.
these are just talking heads bantering about the same thing but saying it in many ways to come off as "experts"...its soo annoying!
I think eraider21 is correct in his assessment of Obama's mission, which is to bring the troops back home. In that plan to bring the troops home, Obama will listen to the Chiefs of Staff on tactical routs, etc...in order to make the mission successful. It's not so complicated that 15 different channels and 100 different reporters have to comment on it!
The point is that Obama wants the troops out as quickly as possible just like the majority of the American people. He WILL remove them from Iraq in whatever amount of time he finds fit whereas Bush's third term will send more until all is blood and ash. So the dreaded "backtracking" is irrelevant. Also, open your eyes, we are not winning. The word "win" does not apply with our situation in Iraq. Don't let your American pride blind you. Everybody's losing until we get out.
Winning? We lost the day Bush/Mccain decided to invade Iraq.11.5 million an our spend on war in Iraq, 46.6 million doesn't have health insurance.Tuition cost more, Veteran benefits going down and some idiot says that we are winning in Iraq! Get a life. If you hate Obama just shut up and vote for someone else.
To add smear doesn't change my vote. Lets us debate on who flip flop the most!
What would history say about Obama if he withdrew all our troops just before we were set to win... Any commander in chief has to consider the latest information in reaching his decisions. So what if he changes his mind on the war... or on anything else... He is the candidate of change... so what if he changes his mind when he learns more... Changing you mind is what change is all about. Should he ignore new information and just stick with a plan that was based on old information. Change.
There is nothing wrong with changing his mind. He should refine his policies. Once he goes to Iraq he will know a lot more about the situation there. So of course he should adjust his thinking as he learns more about the situation. His mistake perhaps was in sounding like he had his mind made up to withdraw without really visiting Iraq and getting the latest information. Once he really understands what is going on there then he should decide what to do at that time. Not have his mind fixed
Off top 90% of black males don't abandon there kids and Id rather my pops not be there then beating on his wife like 65% of domestic violence cases are white...or the 60% of whites who get married an then divorce cause white men tend to can't stay away from spending hundreds on porn a week or there nose clean and sleeping with Spanish and Black prostitutes..see how ridiculous you sound with your stereotypes?
I worked in a factory in Canada. I had this suspicion that none of my black colleagues (paricularly these from the Carribean)born with fathers, so in a subtle way I asked each of them. Of the 21, only one (1) know his father and he is from Somalia. And this world is not populated by blacks and whites only. That Anerican idol Fantasia Barinio declared to the whole world that her son is a miracle. I nearly believed it. Here in the US, I don't have enough black co-workers for my little survey.
When did he become a Muslim? If you are a Muslim it is a Grave sin to say that you are not...So your position is invalid. Flag pins made in China(Communist) that you proudly wear.Thats a hypocrites coming from people who don't even go to church.
Truth is his position has not changed at all He has said that he as prez sets the mission. MaCains pos is to keep troops there indefinitely Obamas is to begin troop withdrawl from day one
"Operation Northwoods" in 1962 was a plan by governament to stage acts of real terrorism on US soil and against U.S. interests and then put the blame of these acts on Cuba in order to generate U.S. public support for military action against the Cuban government of Fidel Castro.Kennedy did not approve it in 1962.Bush did in 2001. 9/11 inside job.
It is in wikipedia!!! google "Operation Northwoods"
He is going to order the Joint Chiefs to end the war? Really? Does he know that they are not part of the operational chain-of-command? But his flip flop on Iraq is nothing compared to telling AIPAC that Jerusalem should be the undivided capital of Israel and then changing his mind and issuing a clarifying statement the next day after the Palestinian Authority complained.
I can tell your Avg..lol The Joints Chiefs are part of the Chain in Command..You support the war but have no Military knowledge other then that you would know what he is talking about...The president makes the final decision the Chiefs are the Chiefs of service whom are the heads of all branches of our military under the command of the prez.
I can tell you are still uninformed. The Joint Chiefs of Staff advise the President and the National Security Counsel but they are not part of the operational chain-of-command. For Iraq, the top of the chain starts with the President, then the Secretary of Defense and then goes directly to the head of U.S. Central Command. Perhaps someday liberals such as yourself will learn something about the military.
The President and Secretary of Defense together are the operational chain of command which runs from the President to the Secretary of Defense to the combatant commanders which is the Joint Chiefs Jack ass..As for being called a Liberal...lol thats funny in all matters of the political process Im sure im more radically to the right then you. But then again the founding fathers of this great nation where radical liberals against the queens army.
It is so easy to prove you wrong, no matter how many names you want to call me. DoD Directive 5100.1, para. 2.2.3 states that the chain of command is from the President, to the SECDEF to the Combatant Commanders. After the Goldwater-Nichols Act, the President can authorize that communications go through the Joint Chiefs but they are still not in the operation chain-of-command. FYI, the American Revolution was fought against England and it had a king at the time, not a queen.
macain and obama SUCK so MUCH, .. american you are screwed, .. you can't vote ralph nader cuz youre to dumb, and these two guys are just, .. they are just the WORSE:... c ya don'w wanna be ya.. greetings from EU
You must be sniffing glue or huffing paint... McInsane is still fighting wars from the sixties.
What good all the Republican leadership did on our foreign policy today. These phuckers are too busy lining the pockets of their friends and the oil industry.
You are stupid if you think Barack is soft on war. If you don't know, black men don't take no shit. Barack will talk to them but if it came down to it, he pimp slap Iran and whoever like a little biotch. So get ur thinking right.
McCain knows how to admit to America's war crimes so he can get better treatment as a POW.You all need to read what McCain agreed to as a POW.Other POW's refused to sign anything. The bottom line is that we have people that voted for Bush twice and now they want to tell everyone how to select a qualified President. You Bush voters should be quiet and apologize for our troops being killed for a bogus war and for de-regulating the energy markets, which has created these gas hikes
maxi(pad)- What if Brit Hume turned the tables on you, and kicked the shit out of your ass? He's a master of muai thay and MMA, so I'm sure he'd have no problem with you. hahaha
I'm sure I can phuck up Brit Hume's pompas ass, fucker walks around like his own shit doesn't stink ...but if it came down to it ... just bust a cap in his ass... just like i'd do to u jerk...lol...no laugh about that...
maxi(pad)- you sound like a typical brother Obama supporter talking about capping people. You, like Obama, are one clueless "phucker!" Now go clean out your double-wide.
I don't understand.. only the first quarter of this video are clips obama speaking and the rest is of pundits speaking and asking questions.. and so hes backtracking?
now im not an obama supporter, i voted for ron paul, but i dont hear any actual backtracking because he still spoke about withdrawling, only this time he mentions listening to commanders on the ground.. which is what a president should..
Let's all vote for McCain. He wants to stay in Iraq for the next 100 years. The war only costs 11. 5 million dollars per hour!
The foreclosure crisis is not real. The gas prices are not real! Jobs being shift overseas is not real.
Vote for McCain 08 so that we can continue the war on terror!
Al Qaida got so much stronger during the last 7 years. Bin Laden is so happy! He loves to see how America is going down! Vote McCain! I mean he was a POW. He knows what he's talking about. Right?
All I know is that every time I hear the term "timetable" now, I want to puke and simultaneously strangle the asshole who said it. They're not serious and never will be, because if they were, they'd say "Alright, start loading up the planes and ships RIGHT NOW, and don't stop until all of our men and (salvagable) equipment is back in the US."
As for the new spokesmouth for Judaefied Hegemony, it doesn't matter who it is. He WILL play ball with this country's real masters or he WILL be killed.
sorry guys. the troops are stuck. at this point in time things are just taking a turn for the worst. the real question is when will things start getting better. ad 10 years to that and thats when the troops will start coming back. i've been in the gulf for 15 years. right now is the calm before the storm. Obama is a bit too optimistic. if it was possible bush would have done it. instead their pumping troops. anyway mccains gonna win. he will be the worst pres ever. comedy fodder.
now here something eles we have to consider. The irqais want a date on when our troops are gonna leave. McCain is going to have some troble on this becausce he wants to stay. i think Obama plan is going to work because he wants to pull them out wisely, not all at once. The media and these politions are just trying to make it sound complicated. A 1st grader could understand what Obama is trying to do. Obama has a good plan and McCain is going to have a hard time with this.
1. 'refine' means "to improve by inserting finer distinctions, precise elements". The Republicans are so desperate to attack Obama on anything that they managed to change the meaning of the word 'refine' to 'to change.' WOW.
2. Even if refine meant 'to change', why would that be bad? If Obama becomes president and his generals say there is no way we can leave Iraq in 16 months, changing his strategy would be a bad thing? GW won't change his strategy no matter what the facts are.
It's not that he's decided to change his strategy on Iraq, it's his timing- coming off his party's nomination. This guy was lying, when he said he would start withdrawing troops immediately just weeks ago, now he's suddenly had an epiphany- he's so phony.
that's just it. that's not what 'refine' means. He still has yet to say that he would he change his 16-month withdrawl plan. And I doubt he will ever say that. Because he thinks, like most of the country thinks, that it continues to be a good idea.
Since when is a change of position a lie? and if so John McCain is the biggest liar in the world because he has flipflopped on twice as many issues that Barack.
He hasnt officialy changed or refined his position on Iraq.He has reaffirmed it.The only one who needs to have an epiphany is John McCain. If you werent aware the Prime Minister of Iraq just requested that the U.S. establish a timetable for withdrawl not to mention the fact that 72% of the Iraqi people DISSAPROVE of US presence there.
In my opinion, the only people that are phony are John McCain the flip-flopper and the the lying Bush administration.
John McCain is the one that looks like an ass right now.Not only is Barack's immeadiate withdrawl position backed by the majority of Americans but also 72% of the Iraqi people and thier Prime Minister.
McCain has run his campaign on the basis of his "foriegn policy expertise" and he cant even get that right. John McCain is a joke.
Unlike Brobama, McCain moved to the right to win his party's nomination, Barack, moved to the right on many issues after he won his party's nomination. This fucker will say anything to get elected, he's Backtrack Barack!
Im sorry to tell you this but McCain moved to the right in order to court the right wing conservatives within his party who thought he was to liberal for a republican AND he has also changed positions on issues after his nomination. Have you forgotten about his change of heart when it comes to off-shore drilling? His position is preety conservative now. He did this to gain the aproval of dissilusioned republicans who believe drilling will solve our energy crisis.
At least McCain moved right and not to the left. Barack moved right- if the right is all wrong, why is he moving that way? He obviously thinks he needs to seem more conservative to win- he's a phony.
John McCain doesnt need to move to the left anymore than he is. Republicans already thinks hes too liberal.
In order to win Barack has to appeal to liderals and conservatives. Both candidates are too liberal therfore they both are going to make efforts to lean more to the right. I dont know about you but I want a pres. who is flexible and is willing to adjust his positions in accordance to the general mood of society.
Yes he DOES need to move to right to win. And so does John McCain. By moving more to the right Obama can gain some Hillary Clinton supporters who shifted towards McCain and he could also grab some dissatisfied Republicans. Its a smart strategy in my opinion as long as he doest get to conservative (and he wont) he'll be fine.
Zing- Face it, Barack's a flip-flopper and he's dishonest to boot. Go back to the primaries and listen to him on FISA, NAFTA, Iraq, campaign public funding, flag on the lapel, gun owner's rights, late term abortion, and his stance on countries like Syria, and Iran. These are big issues, and he's changed his stance on all of these. He can't be trusted. Hell no you can't, Obama!
I will admit that he has changed his position on FISA, campaign funding, gun owner's rights and late term abortion but as for NAFTA, Iraq and "countries like Syria and Iran" he HAS NOT changed his position and you damn well know it. And as for "flag on the lapel" thing he has always said that it was an artificial form of patriotism and second of all its insignificant and no one (but simple minded Reps.) care about it.
Zing- Barack Obama on CNN's televised debate in July 2007: Asked by a memeber of the audience if he would be willing to meet with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, and Noth Korea without preconditions, Barack said "I would." During the Ohio primaries, Barack told the voters of Ohio he would opt out of NAFTA, then a day later the Canadians protested, so Obama got his economic advisor Austan Goolsbee to call the Canadian ambassador to say this-opting out- was only campaign rhetoric.
Barack has always said he would opt out of NAFTA if Canada and Mexico did not agree to renegotiate the agreement. And as for this alleged phone call, the Obama campaign and the Canadian Embassy denies that it ever took place. That was a hoax created by Hillary Clinton supporters.
What does it matter if there are preconditions or no preconditions?Diplomacy is diplomacy. Establishing preconditions defeats the purpose of sitting down and talking to the leaders of those countries.
On NAFTA Obama told to the voters of Ohio one thing and the authorities in Canada another. Austan Goolsbee, the economic advisor who called the Canadians and told them that Barack's "opting out" comment to the voters of Ohio was just campaign rhetoric, was removed from public interviews after this debacle. Ol' Austan used to be on CNBC all the time, but after this incident, he was no where to be found. I'm still waiting for him to appear on CNBC again. Bottom line- Barack lied.
The fact that Austan doesnt apear on CNBC doesnt prove anything. Barack Obama didnt lie to anyone. If this alleged phone call was made (which I highy doubt) it was at the discretion of Austan Goolsbee NOT Barack Obama.
These type of hings happen within both campaigns. Just today McCain's top economic advisor Phil Gramm said that America was a nation of whinners and that Americans are experiencing a "mental recession". Would it be reasonble for me to assume that McCain was lying to or misleading voters when he said that "Americans are facing difficult times"?
Yeah, McCain is a thosand times older than Barack. He could die of natural causes any day now.
My comments are accurate and make perfect sense. While you throw your supprot behind an old man that is on the brink of alztimers, that is extremly out of touch with the American people, and completely unfit to be the leader of the free world, I'll actually support a candidate that has a chance of winning this election.
What does McCain's urine taste like today? Amonia?
His religion has no basis on him being president. If so then are so called democracy is no different then the Saudis or Iran basing or politics off of religion. Is that what you want? If so then are troops in Iraq have died in vain, an ethnic cleansing that Sadam was doing was ok because it was religiously based. some of you people need to fully think out ur positions b4 u comment.
This is a pesidential election you fool and as a candidate in this race Barack Obama has the right to change his postions in a way that will give him an advantage in the general election.
...."Oh, and did I mention he's black" -Obama Imagine a 'victim' race baiter using bring us together as a theme for his campaign. We'll see change alright, millions of 'victims' to victors without ever even getting a job. How do you cut taxes to those who don't pay any? Just start sending them checks. What about JFK's 'Ask not' speech? Michelle's 'whitey' video will be out soon. This Iraq thing is more of the say anything to get elected. vote NObama !
I completely agree with Obama end the war doesn't mean to win it but to america out of iraq we are to involved in this pointless war which has happened before
"On the ground" ... can we please stop saying this? It's a stupid phrase that's obviously intended to carry weight but doesn't mean anything. "the generals on the ground" ... where the hell else would they be? On skateboards? I guess it's supposed to make the war sound firm and sensible ... "boots on the ground" as opposed to "boots in the sky with diamonds" which is more like the truth.
if youknow your history on iraq and iran you need to rethink a withdrawl, if we pull out now total chaos will ensue, iran will invade and we will be back in a fight against iran in 30 days, think about it.
FISA already allowed instant wire taps and only required that the Administration go to a judge within 72 hours of initiating it. Or, would you prefer to have Obama be able to bug Rove's phones at will? We need to encourage moderate muslims to police their own zealots. We can't just profile 1 billion muslims....
Like I said I know what your not for, I just want to know what you are for to fight these Terrorists because there not going away no matter what we do
I'm for a greater understanding in this country that Bush & Co. has used 9/11 as an excuse to to funnel hundreds of $billions to military and oil corporations while breaking Constitutional Law and NOT CAPTURING OBL. Terrorists can only be successful if people get terrorized. Bush and Fox and OBL want the same thing-Americans too scared to protect themselves from oppression.
So "Terrorists can only be successful if people get terrorized" But you forgot in order to terrorize People must Be murdered. Do you think we have a right to protect ourself's? Or should we just pretent there not killing our people. Also You people think Bush is the Dunbest man alive one moment then he is at the center of a complex paln. I don't understand where your comeing from
what does victory mean? The surge worked, the Iraqis have asked for a timeline for withdrawal, the oil companies have their leases back....what exactly are you talking about?
The liberal media is drowning us with Obama 24/7 in a blatantly desperate attempt at getting him elected. The backfire effect on this is already in progress as people turn off on Obama's Messiah-like promises that have no basis in reality, let alone common sense!
NICE TO SEE FIXNEWS AT WORK, Do they really think the American people are the stupid? You know...they do make us read 1984 and Animal Farm in Grade School - oh...is that where they got this brilliant smear tactic? lol
"and the stability of Iraq" = "I've converted to Satan Worshiping and Bush is my new Idol" ....er....NOT! Try again FixNews
11.5 million spend an hour on war in Iraq, Tuisyen cost more, 46.6 million doesn't have health insurance, Veteran benefits going down and your saying we're winning?
Obama wants to bring back the money back to where it should be and with so many ignorants in our country who's voted for Bush before and now going for Mccain and expected different result, well I called it INSANITY!
Well the media were BS from the start.
Who sell WAR on IRAQ? The media did and now IRAN.ERRRRRRGGGGGG!Pathetic!
I don't know where you "new guys"/"drive by's" get that Obama is not flip-flopping and caving here?? This is a massive shift!!! Obama's entire push in the early primaries was getting the troops out now!!!! Now that the surge is working, Obama is proving to be a lousy politician! No Core at all!
You and the rest of these conservative political analysts have just put your foot in your mouth because (if you were'nt aware) the Prime Minister of Iraq has reitterated today that America needs to establish a timetable for withdrawl from Iraq, futher justifying Barack's stance on this withdrawl issue.
Youve got to be kidding me. John McCain has flip-flopped on way more issues than Barack. You must be in denile.
What Im trying to say is that JOHN MCCAIN WAS WRONG. He was the owho wants to stay there for 1 million years (or is it 1,000? Im not sure). He has run this campaign on the basis of his "foriegn policy experience" and he cant even get that right.
This is about Obama. Obama is a lier with very little experience. Obama is flip-flopping all over the place and one day to the next!! Obama does not even rise to the level to be talked about at the same time as McCain. Obama won't even agree to simple town hall meetings!
HELLO! He hasnt changed his position on Iraq. Has he made a statement officially declaring a change of poosition?NO! Please dont make assumptions. You just end up making an ass of yourself.
Like I said in my previous, after this request from the prime minister I dont think he will change his position. Not only is it backed by thousands of democrats but the Iraqi people AND thier prime minister THAT WAS APPOINTED BY GEORGE BUSH!
He hasnt changed his policy on the Iraq war ,you fool. You just assume that he will but after this request from the prime minister I dont think hes going to change a thing.

That's SCARY and reason enough to say they're not responsible enough to vote.

haraldblum73 3 years ago
You've got a lot of good ideas here, haraldblum73, but the palestinians didn't take down the world trade centers, our support for Isreal did that. The iraqi people didn't destroy our economy- the Bush administrations War on oversight and accountability, coupled with the systematic deregulation of industries controlling our credit market did that. Essentially, the Republicans have made a mess of things. Why you're trying to make Iraqis responsible for that is beyond my understanding...

this is the iraque war part of damage done to your economy.
if you prepare for the next mad wars the dollar will sink in advance
haraldblum73 3 years ago
The Iraqi war has nothing to do with our economy. Our economy suffers from greed, both consumers and lenders who tried to make too much money in the real estate market. That along with idiots like Al Gore and the rest of the wacko environmentalists who corrupted the enrgy market and sent it into a tailspin, are the reasons our economy is suffereing. If democrats would just let us win this fricking war and drill for our own oil, we'd again be the greatest superpower this planet has ever seen.
yaya52 3 years ago
I'm not sure you have realized this but we have already won. We won the war when we overthrew the regime, we instated a new one, and that is what our goal is. The U.S Government was hiring OIL FREIGHT DRIVERS IN IRAQ, THREE MONTHS BEFORE WE ANNOUNCED WAR. Explain that? Our job there is done, no more hand holding, bring our troops back for a rest before places like Korea bomb the hell out of us while we're not looking. We are not surrendering, we are passing the reigns to the new Iraqi Government

Quit whining and blaming others for the weakness and mistakes of Bush/Cheaney.

jorge0214 3 years ago
First of all, lets not be stupid jorge - GW was referring to the end of the Hussein dictatorship. He had no expectation that Al Qaida would invade Iraq. Thats point one. The Democrats continually request removing the troops, as their success is becoming evident. The war will "end" when we win, plain and simple.
yaya52 3 years ago
Wow, just wow. To think that, that many people in this country don't know the definition of tactics. What he said, VERY PLAINLY if your educated enough to understand, is that he will issue the mission, "COME HOME" and then listen to the commanders on the ground on how to tactically complete that mission. Strategy is planning a succession of moves, tactics is the planning of the individual moves. There is a difference! If he says he will listen on tactics, it means the strategy is unchanged. Duh.

TrueVerdict 3 years ago
No, what's ironic is that most of this isn't even Fox News and you made those comments, and even with the clips of Fox News, most of the comments were being made by the liberal commentators on the panel.
ReuWil 3 years ago
I agree, it is ironic of my part to attribute the entire clip to Fox News. Nonetheless, the statements made of Fox News in my paragraph remain true. In the comment, I alluded to many of the instances in which Fox News did just that, i. e. the Jesse Jackson blunder of late.
It's obvious to many that Fox News seems to be unaware that good journalism means showing a neutral position, rather than subliminally persuading partisan agendas.
A number of its pundits lack integrity, notably O'Reilly!

these are just talking heads bantering about the same thing but saying it in many ways to come off as "experts"...its soo annoying!
I think eraider21 is correct in his assessment of Obama's mission, which is to bring the troops back home. In that plan to bring the troops home, Obama will listen to the Chiefs of Staff on tactical routs, etc...in order to make the mission successful. It's not so complicated that 15 different channels and 100 different reporters have to comment on it!
tbizone2002 3 years ago
The point is that Obama wants the troops out as quickly as possible just like the majority of the American people. He WILL remove them from Iraq in whatever amount of time he finds fit whereas Bush's third term will send more until all is blood and ash. So the dreaded "backtracking" is irrelevant. Also, open your eyes, we are not winning. The word "win" does not apply with our situation in Iraq. Don't let your American pride blind you. Everybody's losing until we get out.
eraider21 3 years ago
"as quickly as possible = whatever amount of time he finds fit"

Get a life. If you hate Obama just shut up and vote for someone else.

cungilez 3 years ago
What would history say about Obama if he withdrew all our troops just before we were set to win... Any commander in chief has to consider the latest information in reaching his decisions. So what if he changes his mind on the war... or on anything else... He is the candidate of change... so what if he changes his mind when he learns more... Changing you mind is what change is all about. Should he ignore new information and just stick with a plan that was based on old information. Change.
Dogwarrior 3 years ago
There is nothing wrong with changing his mind. He should refine his policies. Once he goes to Iraq he will know a lot more about the situation there. So of course he should adjust his thinking as he learns more about the situation. His mistake perhaps was in sounding like he had his mind made up to withdraw without really visiting Iraq and getting the latest information. Once he really understands what is going on there then he should decide what to do at that time. Not have his mind fixed

AverageVoter 3 years ago
I can tell your Avg..lol The Joints Chiefs are part of the Chain in Command..You support the war but have no Military knowledge other then that you would know what he is talking about...The president makes the final decision the Chiefs are the Chiefs of service whom are the heads of all branches of our military under the command of the prez.
Phonex360 3 years ago
Phoenx360
I can tell you are still uninformed. The Joint Chiefs of Staff advise the President and the National Security Counsel but they are not part of the operational chain-of-command. For Iraq, the top of the chain starts with the President, then the Secretary of Defense and then goes directly to the head of U.S. Central Command. Perhaps someday liberals such as yourself will learn something about the military.
AverageVoter 3 years ago

GW won't change his strategy no matter what the facts are.
bmdude7 3 years ago
It's not that he's decided to change his strategy on Iraq, it's his timing- coming off his party's nomination. This guy was lying, when he said he would start withdrawing troops immediately just weeks ago, now he's suddenly had an epiphany- he's so phony.
Mlfuder1970 3 years ago
that's just it. that's not what 'refine' means. He still has yet to say that he would he change his 16-month withdrawl plan. And I doubt he will ever say that. Because he thinks, like most of the country thinks, that it continues to be a good idea.
bmdude7 3 years ago
He may not say it in exactly those words, but I bet he does not stick to his timetable for withdrawing troops. He's fuckin lying!
Mlfuder1970 3 years ago
Since when is a change of position a lie? and if so John McCain is the biggest liar in the world because he has flipflopped on twice as many issues that Barack.
He hasnt officialy changed or refined his position on Iraq.He has reaffirmed it.The only one who needs to have an epiphany is John McCain. If you werent aware the Prime Minister of Iraq just requested that the U.S. establish a timetable for withdrawl not to mention the fact that 72% of the Iraqi people DISSAPROVE of US presence there.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
In my opinion, the only people that are phony are John McCain the flip-flopper and the the lying Bush administration.
John McCain is the one that looks like an ass right now.Not only is Barack's immeadiate withdrawl position backed by the majority of Americans but also 72% of the Iraqi people and thier Prime Minister.
McCain has run his campaign on the basis of his "foriegn policy expertise" and he cant even get that right. John McCain is a joke.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
Unlike Brobama, McCain moved to the right to win his party's nomination, Barack, moved to the right on many issues after he won his party's nomination. This fucker will say anything to get elected, he's Backtrack Barack!
Mlfuder1970 3 years ago

Mlfuder1970 3 years ago
John McCain doesnt need to move to the left anymore than he is. Republicans already thinks hes too liberal.
In order to win Barack has to appeal to liderals and conservatives. Both candidates are too liberal therfore they both are going to make efforts to lean more to the right. I dont know about you but I want a pres. who is flexible and is willing to adjust his positions in accordance to the general mood of society.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
Yes he DOES need to move to right to win. And so does John McCain. By moving more to the right Obama can gain some Hillary Clinton supporters who shifted towards McCain and he could also grab some dissatisfied Republicans. Its a smart strategy in my opinion as long as he doest get to conservative (and he wont) he'll be fine.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
Zing- Face it, Barack's a flip-flopper and he's dishonest to boot. Go back to the primaries and listen to him on FISA, NAFTA, Iraq, campaign public funding, flag on the lapel, gun owner's rights, late term abortion, and his stance on countries like Syria, and Iran. These are big issues, and he's changed his stance on all of these. He can't be trusted. Hell no you can't, Obama!
Mlfuder1970 3 years ago
I will admit that he has changed his position on FISA, campaign funding, gun owner's rights and late term abortion but as for NAFTA, Iraq and "countries like Syria and Iran" he HAS NOT changed his position and you damn well know it. And as for "flag on the lapel" thing he has always said that it was an artificial form of patriotism and second of all its insignificant and no one (but simple minded Reps.) care about it.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
Zing- Barack Obama on CNN's televised debate in July 2007: Asked by a memeber of the audience if he would be willing to meet with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, and Noth Korea without preconditions, Barack said "I would." During the Ohio primaries, Barack told the voters of Ohio he would opt out of NAFTA, then a day later the Canadians protested, so Obama got his economic advisor Austan Goolsbee to call the Canadian ambassador to say this-opting out- was only campaign rhetoric.
Mlfuder1970 3 years ago
Barack has always said he would opt out of NAFTA if Canada and Mexico did not agree to renegotiate the agreement. And as for this alleged phone call, the Obama campaign and the Canadian Embassy denies that it ever took place. That was a hoax created by Hillary Clinton supporters.
What does it matter if there are preconditions or no preconditions?Diplomacy is diplomacy. Establishing preconditions defeats the purpose of sitting down and talking to the leaders of those countries.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
On NAFTA Obama told to the voters of Ohio one thing and the authorities in Canada another. Austan Goolsbee, the economic advisor who called the Canadians and told them that Barack's "opting out" comment to the voters of Ohio was just campaign rhetoric, was removed from public interviews after this debacle. Ol' Austan used to be on CNBC all the time, but after this incident, he was no where to be found. I'm still waiting for him to appear on CNBC again. Bottom line- Barack lied.
Mlfuder1970 3 years ago
The fact that Austan doesnt apear on CNBC doesnt prove anything. Barack Obama didnt lie to anyone. If this alleged phone call was made (which I highy doubt) it was at the discretion of Austan Goolsbee NOT Barack Obama.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
These type of hings happen within both campaigns. Just today McCain's top economic advisor Phil Gramm said that America was a nation of whinners and that Americans are experiencing a "mental recession". Would it be reasonble for me to assume that McCain was lying to or misleading voters when he said that "Americans are facing difficult times"?
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
McCain's flip-flop list is unparalled and I can give you some examples:
McCain has changed his position on:
*Social Security Privitization
*Raising and slashing defense spending
*First term balanced budget pledge
*FISA
*Restoring the everglades
*Fighting job losses in Mich
*Opposing Hurricane Katrina investigations.
All these flip-flops occured AFTER he won the nomination.

flip-flops don't huh? Keep drinking your
kool-aid and grow a brain.
spokeshole 3 years ago
LOL, I'll drink my Obama kool-aid a you can keep drinking the piss that McCain is serving up, alright?
Which one of my comments are you responding to anyway because I have no idea what you're reffering to.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
ZingZee----------It dosen't really matter which comment i'm refering to as they all
suck.
McCain is a thousand times the man that HusseinObamba is.
Which flavor of kool-aid are you drinking today?
spokeshole 3 years ago
Yeah, McCain is a thosand times older than Barack. He could die of natural causes any day now.
My comments are accurate and make perfect sense. While you throw your supprot behind an old man that is on the brink of alztimers, that is extremly out of touch with the American people, and completely unfit to be the leader of the free world, I'll actually support a candidate that has a chance of winning this election.
What does McCain's urine taste like today? Amonia?
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
His religion has no basis on him being president. If so then are so called democracy is no different then the Saudis or Iran basing or politics off of religion. Is that what you want? If so then are troops in Iraq have died in vain, an ethnic cleansing that Sadam was doing was ok because it was religiously based. some of you people need to fully think out ur positions b4 u comment.

This is a pesidential election you fool and as a candidate in this race Barack Obama has the right to change his postions in a way that will give him an advantage in the general election.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
...."Oh, and did I mention he's black" -Obama Imagine a 'victim' race baiter using bring us together as a theme for his campaign.

I completely agree with Obama end the war doesn't mean to win it but to america out of iraq we are to involved in this pointless war which has happened before
TeamRBB 3 years ago
"On the ground" ... can we please stop saying this? It's a stupid phrase that's obviously intended to carry weight but doesn't mean anything. "the generals on the ground" ... where the hell else would they be? On skateboards? I guess it's supposed to make the war sound firm and sensible ... "boots on the ground" as opposed to "boots in the sky with diamonds" which is more like the truth.
patriciaredstone 3 years ago
if youknow your history on iraq and iran you need to rethink a withdrawl, if we pull out now total chaos will ensue, iran will invade and we will be back in a fight against iran in 30 days, think about it.

Ending this war while on the verge of voctory is assinine. Obama is dangerous. Wake up, folks.

You don't want us to intarograte them, You don't want wire tapping Profiling. Tell me what way are you for?
blrenx 3 years ago
FISA already allowed instant wire taps and only required that the Administration go to a judge within 72 hours of initiating it. Or, would you prefer to have Obama be able to bug Rove's phones at will? We need to encourage moderate muslims to police their own zealots. We can't just profile 1 billion muslims....

Like I said I know what your not for, I just want to know what you are for to fight these Terrorists because there not going away no matter what we do
blrenx 3 years ago
I'm for a greater understanding in this country that Bush & Co. has used 9/11 as an excuse to to funnel hundreds of $billions to military and oil corporations while breaking Constitutional Law and NOT CAPTURING OBL. Terrorists can only be successful if people get terrorized. Bush and Fox and OBL want the same thing-Americans too scared to protect themselves from oppression.
jrubin22 3 years ago
So "Terrorists can only be successful if people get terrorized" But you forgot in order to terrorize People must Be murdered. Do you think we have a right to protect ourself's? Or should we just pretent there not killing our people. Also You people think Bush is the Dunbest man alive one moment then he is at the center of a complex paln. I don't understand where your comeing from
blrenx 3 years ago
But you say we need to pull out of Iraq and Afgan you think we should shut down Gitmo then let killers of US troop's have our legal right's,

The liberal media is drowning us with Obama 24/7 in a blatantly desperate attempt at getting him elected. The backfire effect on this is already in progress as people turn off on Obama's Messiah-like promises that have no basis in reality, let alone common sense!

Minuteman091112 3 years ago
I don't know where you "new guys"/"drive by's" get that Obama is not flip-flopping and caving here?? This is a massive shift!!! Obama's entire push in the early primaries was getting the troops out now!!!! Now that the surge is working, Obama is proving to be a lousy politician! No Core at all!
Minuteman091112 3 years ago
Try as hard as you can... Obama is NOT a flip flopper.
t4ac3y1 3 years ago
Obama has redefined the idea of a flip-flopper to the point that "flip-flopper" no longer means anything!! Now, we're talking "lier" and "no core"
Minuteman091112 3 years ago
You and the rest of these conservative political analysts have just put your foot in your mouth because (if you were'nt aware) the Prime Minister of Iraq has reitterated today that America needs to establish a timetable for withdrawl from Iraq, futher justifying Barack's stance on this withdrawl issue.
Youve got to be kidding me. John McCain has flip-flopped on way more issues than Barack. You must be in denile.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
So what? ZingZee. If the Iraqi government votes us out and the U.N. resolution runs out, we're out anyway. That's not Obama!!
Minuteman091112 3 years ago
What Im trying to say is that JOHN MCCAIN WAS WRONG. He was the owho wants to stay there for 1 million years (or is it 1,000? Im not sure). He has run this campaign on the basis of his "foriegn policy experience" and he cant even get that right.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
This is about Obama. Obama is a lier with very little experience. Obama is flip-flopping all over the place and one day to the next!! Obama does not even rise to the level to be talked about at the same time as McCain. Obama won't even agree to simple town hall meetings!
Minuteman091112 3 years ago
Please give me ONE EXAMPLE of an Obama flip flop other than his change of mind on campaign finance?
You cant becaus there are none. I can give you a few flip-flops of John McCain but I dont want to shove that foot up your mouth even further.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
One major Flip-Flop is contained in this very video.
Obama ran on pulling the troops out now!
Now, Obama is adopting the very same policy as George Bush and McCain.
Who is McBush and who is the lier??
Minuteman091112 3 years ago
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
Obama hasn't changed his position in Iraq??? What is this video and why are we here??
The second half of your comment makes zero sense. Huh??
Minuteman091112 3 years ago
The only "change" here is Obama's policy!! Suck up the Kool Aid now!!
Minuteman091112 3 years ago
He hasnt changed his policy on the Iraq war ,you fool. You just assume that he will but after this request from the prime minister I dont think hes going to change a thing.
John Mcsame must feel like an ass. This is the last thing he needs.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
Where were you during the primaries ZingZee?? What are you even talking about? Do you even know?
Minuteman091112 3 years ago
This is the biggest shift (lie) ever seen in history! If Obama is so confident, why not agree to the town hall meetings proposed by McCain??
Minuteman091112 3 years ago
If this is the only "flip-flop" you can come up with thats preety sad.
He said he would would attend to hall meetings with John McCain and I am sure he will. The general election hasnt even officially began so he shouldnt even be doing any debating yet. Futhermore, I dont know why McCain supporter want Barack to debate with McCain. Obama would mop the floor with McCain's old saggy ass.
ZingZee123456789 3 years ago
Give it up Zingzee. You're clearly drunk on the Kool Aid.
This is not the only flip-flop.(lie) Yes, lie because there's about twelve to fifteen issues that have "shifted"
This issue is #1 and Obama dumped his stance! Failed the CINC test on the job!
Minuteman091112 3 years ago
McCain had a town hall meeting today. Where was Obama? Oh yea, Obama refused to show up!
