I have seen this Lillee Gavaskar episode time and again there was a thick edge........ Australian TV showed it in the evening. Although Gavaskar's behaviour is poor, I think Lillee's is also less than impressive.
a) You shouldn't taunt a batsman when you know very well you've gotten a wicket from a bad decision. I'm all for sledging and aggression - I think it makes the game interesting -but doing it when you know the decision was wrong is poor form.
b) Lillee could've seen the decision was wrong. In all the commotion of Gavaskar's dummy-spit, Lillee should've admitted this to the umpire, who could change the decision

But neither you, nor I have seen the entire series, for both of us were probably unborn then, so if we are to take Gavaskar's word to be true, as I read in his autobiographical book 'Idols', the umpires had been giving horrible decisions against the Indians all through the series, insofar as the entire Indian team was annoyed. This one was an extreme, I reckon. Having said that, he shouldn't have walked out, as he himself admitted later.
