Very sentimental for me too. When I was a very young Mother, I would put long pieces of freezer paper on the wall and let me three children (now grown) draw secret cities with Commander Mark. The truth is, I loved the show as much as they did.
love the girl dragon0 i wish that they would put back the girl dragon name cindy the dragon back mark `s tv show is she nessie of the loch ness monster? iwish show her full body and face so see what her face looklike and her dragon tail
Does anyone know which episodes are the ones where he STARTS working on the Secret City? culturaldetritusnyc's first upload about the actual fantasy land Secret City is THIS video. Clearly, you can see almost the entire city is drawn. I would love to see the videos of the beginnings of this Secret City again.
I used to watch this program on sunday mornings after a night of playing music and being half hungover, and for some reason, watching this show, concentrating on what kistler was doing threw off the hangover, plus I actually learned something. Excellent show, and thanks for bringing back the memories!
Commander Mark was one of my heros back when i was in elementry school. I've learned a lot from watching this guy and his ways of teaching allowed myself to open i new door to my imagination. Seeing this today is awesome!!
i love this guys drawings it reminds me of dr.seuss--didnt this come on after great space coaster?--i remeber this kid in like 6th grade who had a commander mark outfit hed wear to school and he had a big crush on joe from that show with tootie and the fat cvhick--always tripped me out how he had a crush on joe--i mean blair was the hottie
Facts of Life, dude! Jo wasn't too shabby, she was just gruff. She cleans up really nicely, enough that Blair would get jealous and mean-spirited. Well, even moreso than she usually was, hah.
Commander Mark is awesome. But late eighties to early nineties doesn't sound right. I first saw this show in middle school, which would have been closer to 1981.
I grew up watching this man and he is the reason I got into art as a child. I remember looking forward to watching him all day at school, I couldn't wait to get home. I would watch him every chance I got with my Mother and we would draw together. This also brings tears to my eyes as well, I have so many good memories of the times I spent watching this show and drawing with my Mother. Thank you Mark Kistler.
Yeah, this brought me to tears also. This is someone who shaped one of the biggest parts of my life. I used to RUN home from school to watch this. And record it and re-watch it. Over and over. And over.

If it wasn't for youtube awsome shows like this would be but a distant memory in my mind.
Anyone remember "The Great Space Coaster"? Another great lost relic.
