So the mask is evil because it has a nasty spirit to the one who wears it to do wicked things and the tribe died because of it's power was misused if the tribe were still alive they would have told link the legend that that mask is a great work of evil wearing that mask allows the character to make ghost spirits kill other characters.

I got Ocarina of time at an early age of 8, then I played it for 2 years! it was scary, funny and epic! then Majoras mask came, it was said to be a scary game, and at the age of 10 I putted it in my Nintendo 64 for the first time! it blown me away! it was a really hard game for a 10 years old boy, and damn scary! I still have nightmares about the moon falling down! Zelda OOT and MM Are game legends! Amen!
