  • Very well done. Congratulations. It's a fantastic introduction to Jarman's aesthetics and likes. Thank you!

  • Well done - nuff said.

  • I was just googling "Derek Jarman" and I found this one image of what looks to be a film that he made called "Angelic Conversation." Are these films shown above just the ones that he is most recognized for? Thanks

  • @pockeyboi — It's been many years since I've seen The Angelic Conversation, though I'd rank it among the top five of Jarman's creative outpourings. Gorgeous imagery, a fluidity of language in lieu of a linear narrative... Even Coil's accompanying soundtrack to the feature is a sliver of perfection.

Insofar as the "fan clip"/montage presented above, I'm not certain if the omission of The Angelic Conversation was merely an oversight (Jarman was, after all, staggeringly prolific)—

  • The lover of the stylization. Likes it only may have been ...

  • Jarman... R.I.P.

    Amazing...

  • LEGEND... Derek Jarman, one of the greatest film-makers ever, a true artist. Awesome tribute, saltysugarcube.

(But Suede always deserve more credit too, they were amazing, gotta be my favourite ever band, so thanks for including them as well!)

  • One of the great openings to any modern piece of music. I am a smiths fan but I didn't hear this until 24th Dec of that year. it blew me away as did the rest of TQOD.

Now where's the film that went with this- it's gone from youtube.
