  • he's a bit sharp

  • @rangerxx345 but he's heaven

  • is there somewhere i can buy this? because i cant seem to find it.

  • you are the best man!

  • I admire you.

  • Beautifully played. Too bad the arrangement for piano is a little disappointing, lacking enough weight and missing some special harmonies, e.g. the chromatic bass movement that should be there at 0:59 . Miss Ko herself is brilliant and sensitive (and beautiful) as always.

  • 20 people are just jealous.

  • 1:30 amazing

  • wonderful! a blessing from hong kong....

    god bless. ^_^

  • Hi, I was wondering what arrangement you are using??

  • молодец!!!! good !!!!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWW!!

  • good

  • Wow, you're gifted. Beautiful, dark, melancholy tone. Don't ever stop.

  • Hmm, an eleven-year old kid playing a sad song. His youth broke through the inherent sadness of this piece without sounding too overjoyed. I can't say I like it but he's someone I really admire now :)

  • good job :D

  • ES PRODIGIO , NO SE VALE JIJIJIJIJ

  • where did you find this arrangement?

  • where did you find this arrangement?

  • hey boy, you are nice!! I love you emotion.

  • the fast bit spoles it pluss this isent oblivion music

  • When i heard first note, i knew i'm going to subscribe. This is very beautiful.

  • what's mouthpiece, reeds, and ligature are you playing?

  • where can I find this peice omg I love it!!!! way to go man!!!

  • Han im 24 years old Clarinetist and a teacher, i wanted to tell you that you have depth in your playing more then your age which is great and not many can do that,

    Brava!

can you please tell where i can get the score maybe? i think that peace is a great encore

  • You are awesome. You play with the ease of a sesoned player and with the accuracy of a dedicated musician. Get even better, get to be the best. Be the best. Challenge thrown.

  • Where can I buy this sheet music I cant find it in america

  • Great performance. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

    Very nice sound perfect intonation.

I am clarinetist from Armenia, and would so much like to have the score of Oblivion by Pizzolla.

  • wow,it's amazing ! OO

  • WOW, u are a monster! continue like that.

  • simply awesome

  • amazing player, but this type of music needs to have more feeling behind it. this performance is too structured, even the fast runs...while they are very clean and great-sounding, they're too technical sounding. i prefer andy miles' video. check it out.

  • What arrangement is this?

  • Your playing; and the arrangement, are wonderful.

I think Piazzola would be pleased!

  • just... woow! you're impressive!

  • Stunning!

  • this is beautiful!!

  • So this makes my 7 years of making region band and area meaningless. lol

  • you were just amazing! i've watched others interpret Astor's works and it doesn't sound nearly as awesome as u did it little man!!! BRAVO!

  • no way!he is only a kid but already a great clarinetist.i am choked.great sound, great pitch.its wonderfull

  • Beautiful...every day J watsching your videos..for me you are the best..one question do you thins on pdf..j need that pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • I think he altered the piece. If anyone can find changed versions please send it to me.

  • o.O amazing, the sound...was marvelous, epic!

  • behind every great player, is a parent forcing them to practice.

  • That is simply not true. Behind SOME of the great players there is a parent forcing them to practice.

  • haha true but think of it this way. Without parents, nothing would be possible.

  • Quite true.

  • I play calrinet too

you are a good clarinet player !

can you send me the sheet music?

    PLEAS !!!!!!!!!!

    and the piano sheet ?

    thank you very much !!!!

    From the netherlands

  • I want the musich sheet also~~

  • you have to pass the spelling test first.

  • @Talis64 yo can you stop being a fucking racist and listen to the goddamn music? That would be much appreciated.

  • You sound great! Wow, so young and so talented. Amazing!

I was wondering if anyone knew where to find the sheet music for this piece, its so beautiful.

  • um, let's just say he's a little bit better than me.

  • Im a freshman at Troy University. I've been a percussionist for 4 years now. but i love music and am doing music education and hope to eventually get a masters in music composition. I just started clarinet yesterday because im going to pick it up as a secondary instrument. This is so beautiful and i hope to have such a pure sound one day.. if you compared my sound to this you would think i was playing a different instrument lol!

  • Respect from The Netherlands!

  • WOW

  • so beautiful. u inspiireee me. :)

  • wow

    thats impressive

    he memorized it too

    and 11!

    wow

  • Esperamo ve-lo um dia aqui no Brasil!

    Bravo!!!!!!!!!!

  • The most impressive part is that he memorized the whole thing o.o

  • ...and not "just" this piece, but the whole concert !!!

  • but that's common for a lot of musicians. especially solo artists.

  • really amazing!

  • piazzola music is for play it a bit more fast, but I like your sound.

  • Starting is not tht impressive but in the middle~ That shows how good you are. But would it mind that the rhythm go slower abit?

  • how is it not that impressive at the start? just the first note was impressive with the excellent sound quality he had.

  • the beginning is about the only thing i think is good about this recording. oblivion by piazzolla is certainly NOT about ramming notes.

  • @fitzgerald1337x okay first of all...HE WAS ELEVEN! give him a break..like you could play this when you were eleven...you're just criticizing him because you're insecure about your own talent and you're jealous...

  • Bravissimo!

  • Han Kim, who is your fine pianist? Don't you feel the pianist is important enough to mention?! Without her you would have half a performance.

  • thats perty kewl ummm im in 7th and ur probably just as good as me if not better

  • shutup u kno this kid is better than u and u know it.

  • Beautiful!!

That's all i can say, beautiful!!

  • THATS TALENT! He has nice tone but what would really help is if he learned how to do circulatory breathing, instead of taking large breaths that ruin the tone and tend to make you go flat as well as taking breaths during solos usually interrupts the flow and length of notes

  • Do every clarinetist learn cirlcular breathing? That's funny is u uses circular breathing for this piece... atleast i think like tht... hmm

  • Comment removed

  • No, circular breathing is not that difficult or rare, especially on the clarinet.

And no, he is not using it in this piece.

  • This is nice, and well done overall, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they were watching "Reefer Madness" in the green room before reappearing on the stage...

"Faster! Play it faster! Faster!", etc...

  • Very nice!

  • Correction: "It's NOT how many years"*

    lol.

  • Jesus! I've been playing the clarinet for 6 years! And I'm in no way shape or form as good as this youg fellow... I'm more of a violinst though, rofl. Amazing talent, this goes to show, it's how many years you played but the effort!

    Great vid!,

    Much love, Grace~

  • breathtaking, grats!

  • That was meat to be a reply to canuscksfan816

  • This is a brilliant piece of music and also played very good!! Congratulations! I searched the internet for this arrangement but I can't find. Can someone let me know where I can get this arrangement? Thanks!

  • me too !

  • Oblivion that I played in this video is transposed and re-arranged by my teacher from the original piece for oboe and piano.

The score I have is "Astor Piazzolla, Oblivion aus dem Film HEINRICH IV, fur Oboe und Klavier" published by "TONOS Musikverlags GmbH Holzhofallee 15, D-64295 Darmstadt", and I bought this in Korea. Maybe you can find it in your country. :)

  • thank you for the answer ! I´m from Germany so maybe I can find it in Darmstadt :-)

    Have a nice week end!

  • This performance I listen over ten times.

    Great~

  • hey um i reallly really wanna play this song is ther any way you could like send me a copy of this transposed and rearranged version to me. like stick it in a scanner and email it to me? i really like this song! i think itd b fun for me to play :)

  • Wow, Han, your an amazing clarinet player. Don't ever stop playing no matter what, and by the way:

The glisses and jazzy style go well VERY MUCH wtih your piece: Keep using them in that fashion ^^

i'm a Korean - American, but i was born in America so I can't say Korean that well :)

I like playing clarinet but dang...you are one heck of a musician Mr. Kim ^^

    Nice Job overall

I listened to everything you've done and posted so far :)

  • Thx for comment and I'm glad that you like :)

  • Sei stato bravissimo ciao dall'italia

  • very good!

maybe, can you comment my flight of the bumble bee video?

he Fligt of the Bumble Bee,clarinet:

thnks you very mach for this beautiful video !!

  • hy...you are a very good clarinetist....sorry because i dont speck englesh very good....bat brao.....i'm from romania....;)

  • You have a high level of musicality for your age.

  • this is cool, but on my clarinet sometimes when i play and get to the high notes like G or A it feels like something is blocking the sound. sometimes the sound is clear. do you know why??

  • the problem may be that ur blocking air with ur tounge.......notes in the upper register require fast air....

  • oh thanks :)

  • You need to put more pressure on the reed- i get that too and my clarint teacher says all the notes need a different amount of pressure applied to them.

  • very cool,a alos play the clarinet, how much you play clarinet at one day???my english is wery bad, sorry, please answer

  • I study clarinet too. and i hope i will learn that piece too..

  • wow... you will be "big" clarinetist... good luck! :)

  • Thx, I'm glad that you like~

  • bravo!!!!!

  • Bravo!

    I like Piazzolla music

You perform this music very beautifully.

  • wow... I play alto sax not clarinet so I dont know how hard it is but... an 11 year old? This good?

    Next Mozart anyone?

  • you are great! i have learnt the clarinet for 6 years with my school's band but im no where near your standard. what do you normally do for warm ups before you practise?

  • wow you have a beautiful tone!

  • You truly are a prodigy child Michael :D

Keep on playing and learning clarinet, because outstanding musicians like you, we don´t see everyday. I wish every single good thing for you Han Kim and I wish that you have success in life. Keep on Michael!

  • Thank you very much for your appreciation on my playing and I'll keep on working:)

  • I love your tone it sounds so pure :)

By the way, what kind of Clarinet do you use?

  • Thanks for comment and I'm using Buffet Festival with Vandoren M30 mouthpiece and Eddie daniels' Rovner ligature.:)

  • where do u get sheet music for this?

plus u got amazing sound.. keep it up =P

  • This piece is based on oboe version but transposed and re-arranged by my teacher, Mr.YongGen Lee.:)

  • well, I think you are really fantastic in playing the clarinet... And youre 12 years old.. I mean, im 17 and have just started to play some songs that you also played..

But what Im wondering about is that you have to practise a lot, really a lot, like 5 hours a day..

    But, nice job. really.

And you can speak english also quite well as i can see.. youre a really over-talented guy :D

but the world needs that sort of people :)

    love your music.

  • Thx for comment. I just practice 1~2 hours day usually except a month before performance.:)

  • I think the scoops sound fabulous and that you should keep doing them. Wonderful job!

  • You are good to take it the right way. It is very hard for classical guys to not scoop because they really want to feel the music, especially if there is some "jazz" feeling to it. But if you not used to scoop the way jazz guys do it because they have been doing it all the time for years, it won't sound good. It will sound hokey, immature. I'm trying to get the classical guys not to scoop on the Artie Shaw concerto.

  • play a bit louder and don't stick your bell out so much. that's my advice. i don't like this song. it's sort of weird.

  • You are a very talented young player. Some advice. DO NOT Scoop on the clarinet. It is not jazzy or good in anyway. The classical guys scoop different then the jazz guys. Please take this the right way. Do NOT scoop. It does not sound the way you think. I am sure some jokers on here will give me crap for this but don't listen the them. When the classically trained guy scoops on clarinet it ruins all the music you have built up. Ignoring this advice will be harmful to your playing.

  • Thanks for your advice and I won't ignore it.:)

  • Michael -

You have a beautiful sound, thanks for posting this and other pieces. Where did this arrangement come from? I've seen a version of Oblivion for piano/oboe in a catalog, but not clarinet. Is this the transposed oboe part, or something else?

  • Thanks for comment. Yes, this piece is based on transposed oboe version but re-arranged by my teacher, Mr.YongGen Lee.:)

  • My God...how old are u??, Congratulations.. u're Perfect. ^^

  • I was 11 at that time and I'm 12 now. :)

  • Oh God..very young. u playy veryy well.,congratulations again ^^!

  • bravo. Clap Clap Clap Clap

  • I am intrigued by your style. :D

I know I couldn't shuffle my feet back and forth like that. :O

anyway, it was lovely. i envy your beautiful soft notes.

  • I'm happy that you like my tone. Thanks :)

  • Definitely. I would love to hear more from you.

  • Though I do not like this intepretation of a piece (which was supposed to carry itself with poignancy and dignity), denying that he is a fantastic player for his age would be a lie. Good job!

  • Thanks for your comment :)

  • interpretas muy bien eeh¡¡¡

  • I really like how you end your final tone. It's as important to finish the note beautifully as it is to start it beautifully.

  • omg this sounds so pretty!!

    good work :3

  • Darn you oriental kids!! xD

I am jealous all of you have talents!

I am a darn American lol

    xD

that is if he is oriental....

Anyways, nothing bas towards them I am just...So amazed by the talent all of them show in one thing or another!

  • You play as a great musician...so young and so good musicien....i play also Clarinet in one band...can you send the partiture for me or maybe you know some web site...

    thanks a lot

    keep working so hard!

  • Thx for comment. But unfortunately I don't have soft copy of partiture that I can send you because this piece is arranged by my teacher...

  • whoehoe!

  • very good execution and technique. try listening without looking at the video, you'll even feel more amazed by this 11yrs old!!![from own experience] :]

  • He's leaving out all the cool sixteenth notes that are in between the whole notes... he may be good but he has ameateur lungs...

  • He is also leaving out anything approaching mature dynamic and musical interpretation. Ya know back in the day of child prodigies (read mozart's time) they had a sense of propriety. While the wunderkind would play flashy, cute, or sweet pieces...the idea of having a 4 year old play an intensely dark/emotion piece would be considered tacky. We see to have lost all sense of tasteful....

Boludo.

  • OMG 11!!!!!! Ive seen professionals who cant play this good! man youre amazing! Good Luck!;-)

    Take Care!,

    -Anish

  • Beautiful!

    He's a very talented kid.

I hope he grows up to play professionally,

    he definatly should

  • wow thats beautiful i wish i was him

  • wow! i wish i could play my clarinet half as good as that! well done! :D beautiful

  • Love your tone, beautiful!
