Beautifully played. Too bad the arrangement for piano is a little disappointing, lacking enough weight and missing some special harmonies, e.g. the chromatic bass movement that should be there at 0:59 . Miss Ko herself is brilliant and sensitive (and beautiful) as always.
Hmm, an eleven-year old kid playing a sad song. His youth broke through the inherent sadness of this piece without sounding too overjoyed. I can't say I like it but he's someone I really admire now :)
Han im 24 years old Clarinetist and a teacher, i wanted to tell you that you have depth in your playing more then your age which is great and not many can do that,
Brava!

You are awesome. You play with the ease of a sesoned player and with the accuracy of a dedicated musician. Get even better, get to be the best. Be the best. Challenge thrown.
amazing player, but this type of music needs to have more feeling behind it. this performance is too structured, even the fast runs...while they are very clean and great-sounding, they're too technical sounding. i prefer andy miles' video. check it out.
Im a freshman at Troy University. I've been a percussionist for 4 years now. but i love music and am doing music education and hope to eventually get a masters in music composition. I just started clarinet yesterday because im going to pick it up as a secondary instrument. This is so beautiful and i hope to have such a pure sound one day.. if you compared my sound to this you would think i was playing a different instrument lol!
@fitzgerald1337x okay first of all...HE WAS ELEVEN! give him a break..like you could play this when you were eleven...you're just criticizing him because you're insecure about your own talent and you're jealous...
THATS TALENT! He has nice tone but what would really help is if he learned how to do circulatory breathing, instead of taking large breaths that ruin the tone and tend to make you go flat as well as taking breaths during solos usually interrupts the flow and length of notes

This is a brilliant piece of music and also played very good!! Congratulations! I searched the internet for this arrangement but I can't find. Can someone let me know where I can get this arrangement? Thanks!
Oblivion that I played in this video is transposed and re-arranged by my teacher from the original piece for oboe and piano.
The score I have is "Astor Piazzolla, Oblivion aus dem Film HEINRICH IV, fur Oboe und Klavier" published by "TONOS Musikverlags GmbH Holzhofallee 15, D-64295 Darmstadt", and I bought this in Korea. Maybe you can find it in your country. :)
hey um i reallly really wanna play this song is ther any way you could like send me a copy of this transposed and rearranged version to me. like stick it in a scanner and email it to me? i really like this song! i think itd b fun for me to play :)
this is cool, but on my clarinet sometimes when i play and get to the high notes like G or A it feels like something is blocking the sound. sometimes the sound is clear. do you know why??
You need to put more pressure on the reed- i get that too and my clarint teacher says all the notes need a different amount of pressure applied to them.
you are great! i have learnt the clarinet for 6 years with my school's band but im no where near your standard. what do you normally do for warm ups before you practise?
Keep on playing and learning clarinet, because outstanding musicians like you, we don´t see everyday. I wish every single good thing for you Han Kim and I wish that you have success in life. Keep on Michael!

But what Im wondering about is that you have to practise a lot, really a lot, like 5 hours a day..
But, nice job. really.

You are good to take it the right way. It is very hard for classical guys to not scoop because they really want to feel the music, especially if there is some "jazz" feeling to it. But if you not used to scoop the way jazz guys do it because they have been doing it all the time for years, it won't sound good. It will sound hokey, immature. I'm trying to get the classical guys not to scoop on the Artie Shaw concerto.
You are a very talented young player. Some advice. DO NOT Scoop on the clarinet. It is not jazzy or good in anyway. The classical guys scoop different then the jazz guys. Please take this the right way. Do NOT scoop. It does not sound the way you think. I am sure some jokers on here will give me crap for this but don't listen the them. When the classically trained guy scoops on clarinet it ruins all the music you have built up. Ignoring this advice will be harmful to your playing.
You have a beautiful sound, thanks for posting this and other pieces. Where did this arrangement come from? I've seen a version of Oblivion for piano/oboe in a catalog, but not clarinet. Is this the transposed oboe part, or something else?
Though I do not like this intepretation of a piece (which was supposed to carry itself with poignancy and dignity), denying that he is a fantastic player for his age would be a lie. Good job!
You play as a great musician...so young and so good musicien....i play also Clarinet in one band...can you send the partiture for me or maybe you know some web site...
very good execution and technique. try listening without looking at the video, you'll even feel more amazed by this 11yrs old!!![from own experience] :]
He is also leaving out anything approaching mature dynamic and musical interpretation. Ya know back in the day of child prodigies (read mozart's time) they had a sense of propriety. While the wunderkind would play flashy, cute, or sweet pieces...the idea of having a 4 year old play an intensely dark/emotion piece would be considered tacky. We see to have lost all sense of tasteful....
Boludo.

He's leaving out all the cool sixteenth notes that are in between the whole notes... he may be good but he has ameateur lungs...
Tech502 3 years ago
He is also leaving out anything approaching mature dynamic and musical interpretation. Ya know back in the day of child prodigies (read mozart's time) they had a sense of propriety. While the wunderkind would play flashy, cute, or sweet pieces...the idea of having a 4 year old play an intensely dark/emotion piece would be considered tacky. We see to have lost all sense of tasteful....

takeo1969 3 years ago
Boludo.
