Robie Lester 1925-2005: One of her most famous roles was "Miss Jessica", the schoolteacher who becomes Mrs. Kris Kringle in the 1970 Rankin-Bass TV special Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town. She sings a powerful ballad entitled "My World Is Beginning Today" . Arthur Rankin Jr., described it as the most wonderful modern song of its time to be used on a television special, & the marionettes closely depicted the actual actors, Fred Astaire, Mickey Rooney, Keenan Wynn, and the beauty of Robie Lester.

What a wonderful creation! This song was indeed beautiful, sun by Robie Lester for this 1970 production. I am going to cut and paste some information about this special and her most memorable song which is this one. Brings back happy memories of when I saw this as a child when it was new.

Man, i love this song. It's so early 70s. The sound if fantastic. I hated it when they showed it on television and they shorten the song as if it wasn't important. That song made the show to me. I believe they brought it back, I hope. This was not a drug trip song. it was mind blowingly beautiful.
