I like the gameplay, alot. It seems really smooth and the fact that you can move before the round starts (In M.U.G.E.N made games, you can't do this D: ) Makes it even better for me. The animation's pretty smooth too.
Now if only the in-game graphics looked as good as the promo video. I'm not a huge fan of pixelized chibi characters (Just looks lazy to me. Hi-def chibi characters are a different matter).
Gameplay looks fast and smooth though. Animations are pretty good.
The whip girl looks as if they've copied frames from Whip from KOF at times though. Or is that just me? Maybe there's just not that many ways to animate whip usage.
@Mutant1988 LOL, I basically thought the same thing and figured there's but so many ways to use a whip. They probably chose the more chibi style because the resolution of FM2nd isn't that great by today's standards. They've even talked about Mugen a few times on their forum due to its support of HD res, but are probably too far in development to make the switch now. (having worked on it for at least two years as far as I know).
@Mutant1988 Certainly. A lot can be done with the resolution of the engine, but they kept it simple for their first game to have no regrets down the line. There were talks that they would have no problems utilizing Mugen's higher res to expand upon the game visually, but it was at this point that they probably felt they were too far into development to adjust it.
Good to see more Kakuge released in these times.
Even if i'm not really in the chibi thing (for kaku)
Thanks Vyse

I have got this game earlier, but it don't have player files and stuff alike to rip, they're protected somehow.

Well, I'll probably DL and try this later.

I'm thinking the chibi style was a stylistic choice, rather than something forced by the limitations on the engine.
I mean, look at Vanguard Princess. That's definite proof that there's nothing stopping FM2 games from looking gorgeous.
But I shouldn't complain too much. It's their game, so they're free to go with whatever art style they want.
