@supersoul8 its universal, we had it tapped into the factory subwoofer for that. We completely disconnected the factory sub and ran the speaker wires to the LOC.

nah, this is my third system, just my first install. i got may parts from Frys Electronics so i have the lifetime warranty. my other two systems were in older cars, so im just trying to prepare to work on a 2011.

@bradpost13 Word of advice from experience (if this is your first system):

1:Save up and buy good shit (you end up spending more money replacing crap than getting it right the first time)

2: Buying from places like Best Buy is great because for $20-50 you can get a 4 year warranty that will replace the stuff you blow up.

3: Dont buy cheap power cables! The crap you buy for half the cost of the reputable cables is because they are really arent the gauge they claim, its mostly insulation.

@bradpost13 Waste of money. Only reason I added one in my car was because I got it practically free. Check out The12Volt site there is a good discussion as to why capacitors do not work the way people think they do.

@bradpost13 Correct. Thats where I connected the Line ouput converter. Check out my newer vids I have upgraded the sub and amp, put in a double din and changed the speakers.

did you run a seperate power line? and were did you run your ground?

@bradpost13 yup you gotta run a nice power cable, I always use at least 4ga for any of my installs. I grounded it to some bolt in the trunk near the seats just sand and grind around it to get a nice clean ground.

@moneyjwc777 Yes. 500 RMS per coil. At the time the speakers were stock infinity sound package. I have since upgraded everything, check out my newer vids.

how many watts do the speakers need to match up with the sub? if your pushing all of 1000 watts ofcourse. im going to get 4 6 1/2s and im wondering how many watts each speaker needs (rms)

@moneyjwc777 whatever the RMS is on the speakers you choose. Each speaker is different.. I sell speakers and have listened to many many different speakers and the best sounding are Kicker and Infinity for regular door speakers. At least thats as far as regular old mainstream brands that you can walk into a store and buy.
