Test Catrol Edge with Titanium. If it does not improve over the standard Edge, I will swith to Mobil 1 because I can buy it at Walmart. Not much difference in the top 3 oils. Thanks for the testing.
My hat off to the mechanic for doing dyno test , Thank you ! I will stick with mobil 1 oil its always on sale at walmart And My last car was Acura TL Type-S ran perfect when sold with 302,000 miles on it!
Yeah it was a good test but it was somewhat biased because you should have done each test with the engine at the same temperature... But anyhow I saw your other video with the lancer and nulon was first so I know what to buy now lol
Tony Rigioli Performance has some orsum drag cars i remember when they had the fastest WRX wagon in Australia and alot of other titles.. they dont joke around.
@PooManchoo2 well i think that dyno is more acurrate in the fact that use force direct on wheels/tires so it the closest test u can have for real time driving... dynapack don't show number from ur (diameter) wheels but ur brakes center fitting ,
keep that in mind alot people i know hate dynapack for that fact , the WHP is the most important accurate number u can have so...
@GrUnGe567 Dynapacks must have the wheel diameter plugged in so they can calculate the effective diameter. They don't give tq/hp results of the center fitting. Also, the tire/roller friction will be completely different to tire bitumen.
I used a roller-dyno with some M/T ET Streets and almost destroyed them with slippage. We had to completely abort.
Meaning, even a tire you may expect is good may mislead you.
Id prefer knowing max hp is capable from the wheel, then choose tires for the track.
Since the second point all the other brands(marks) have his(her, your) better formula of lubricant while motul not if it(he,she) wants to do a royal(real) test(proof) the motul uses 300 v 5w30 and I bet(station) him q if the horses of power do not raise 270 am not at all
Looking at the video there is a series of factors that do not give him(her) veracity to the video as the first measure, of 5 lubricants only 1 is 5w40 which is the motul what gives him(her) a great disadvantage
I would be happier with the test if he was not able to see the output screen and drove the engine to its rev limiter, not because it would or would not produce more power, but would standardise the test.
Tell me everyone who posted comments didn't fall for this sham. It's rigged. He is placing the cooling fan at different distances to control the outcome. The cooling fan is moved the closest to the radiator during the Nulon oil run. Cooler engine, more horsepower....it's that simple. He does this in all of his video tests when he puts Nulon oil in the engine.
Crap, look again! First run on nulon maybe 2 inch's closer if that, you have got to be dumb buddy, second run it's further away than all the rest, are you in competition with nulon ???
Who fucking cares? I've never even heard of "Nulon" bullshit.
Royal Purple is the best oil hands down, i've read so many articles, and seen so many demonstrations done by so many different testers. If Royal Purple comes out on top or comes 2nd in 13/15 tests..then guess what? I'm using RP.
Average it out yourself, you're not a retard. Think for yourself.
thats an interesting outcome, I wouldnt have thought oils would make that much difference. Is it possible to do a similar test after the oils are say 5,000kms old, to see if the brands stand the real-world test of time
Oh come on!.... the Motul was a 5W40 for goodness sake!

Why does the nulon test have the fan closer. They do that on the evo as well? Did nulon sponser this test or something?

have u try wz this oil...?
Syntium 5000 SM/ILSAC GF-4, SAE 0W30
or
Syntium 5000 SM/ILSAC GF-4, SAE 0W40
from:- Petronas
utaypt 1 year ago
Not enouth data to be conclusive:
1- All the brands MUST HAVE THE SAME VISCOSITY GRADE, 5w30.
2- All the brands MUST HAVE THE SAME SAE CLASSIFICATION, like SL or SJ.
Otherwise this an apropriat comparacion Test.
3-For the Dyno Test, all oil must be in the same engine inicialTemperature (T0).

it would be nice if u make a video testing greddy oil, amsoil, castrol syntec, and o'Reilly full synthetic....

I have a sbf that revs tp 9000rpm.
I`ve used mobil 1 5w30 & Royal Purple racing 21 ( 5w30 )
Mobil 1 was the cheaper oil of the 2 but the Royal Purple is the only oil I will be using !

No way you can get accurate and consistant results with a tire to roller interface when you can make or loose 20 hp with a tire change as well.
Get a Dynapack dyno if you want to start splitting hairs.
PooManchoo2 1 year ago
@PooManchoo2 Uh. Dude. The tire wheel combo was the same for each run. The only thing changed was the oil. You're an idiot.

@Bombardier131 And if they did the tests 1 at a time, one per day. Engines will perform differently as they heat up.

They should have tested Amsoil in their comparison. Amsoil is a PURE synthetic being a ester based synthetic. The others are PAO ones.
GranFury440 2 years ago
No point saying what they should or should not have used. These oils are the ones they used and thats what the results are for the oils tested.
Interestingly, since these lubricants are PAO, the test results are even more relevant as they truly compare "apples with apples"
loopism 2 years ago
Actually Amsoil is PAO...the only ester based I know of is Redline
grometsc 2 years ago
Ye AMSOIL get their performance through their "additive package".
RedLine and Motul 300V are the only POE oils. But from what iv heard from experts..... AMSOIL seems to perform better than RL and Motul. o_O
marek0086 2 years ago
No.
1. Amsoil are big fans of PAOs and make extensive use of them.
2. PAOs are just as synthetic as esters.
