Ablett I think (taking nothing away from him, fantastic player) isn't as good at kicking those kinds of goals ALL THE TIME as someone like Akermanis is. Love him or hate him, that man is probably the games best goalsneak.

Also, I believe Chris Judd is a better player than Gary Ablett because he breaks the lines and on average gains more metres per game, which too me is the most important statistic of all - it's really preference whether you prefer a genius ball magnet or a magic line breaker.

this particular pocket at skilled stadium is particularly hard for goals to be kicked from. always has been

in a match between brisbane lions and geelong at the gabba in 2007 i think akermanis kicked a goal EXACTLY the same from the SAME pocket. i know its different grounds but still in their prime these guys are unstoppable! too bad for the rest of us that gary abletts in his prime now :( (essendon supporter)

dw man. I go for carlton and we are being pretty big let downs so far this season. Hopefully we can turn it around though. but i don't think ablett's goal was even that good he was trying to centre it not kick a goal and the wind passed it through the goals. Akers goal wasn't wind assisted and cleary wasn't a fluke (done it twice) so yeah. Ablett is a wanker for cheering after that but who can blame him.

at least one of akers was wind assisted...becoz he is a right footer and snapped it from the right boundary which means it wood have been curving away from the goals....either way they are both awesome, and as for ablett cheering, thats what you are sposed to do with a goal.........btw aker not a fluke? lol who says lightning doesnt strike twice
