i had this phone for over 2 years. all keys got broken (i dunno what it depends on) but had absolutely no problem for that. i only had a problem with opening/closing it for the last 6 months.

until it got completely broken (kinda my fault).

other than that, it was a great phone, i already miss it. no touch phone could beat it.

its fast, elegant, really easy to use, awesome quality of music. but i guess its time to move on

it's ok I have it for almost 4 years now… hum this phone is not as good as we think.

issues with the cameras, memory only up to 2 gb. I actually do have a 4 gb memory card and it's working but not as well as I was expecting…

I did like it at the beginning… but the litlle issues above are pissing me off so bad now lol…

sorry to tell you that but you should get another phone… probably the Walkman model which is almost the same as the s500i

dis has an m2 slot.+buttons not breaking ive had mine for about 2 years. only a few scratches. u can get yahoo and shit man. ive dowloaded free msn for it. if u a bit of searching u can find epic websisted dat have over 300 games for dis beauty. u can customize the buttons at the front in the circle to any shortcuts. like left music right messaagin up photo down contacts it a great phone and if i rated it i would rate it 8 but i would add a half to it cos its got a good price.

this is very similar to the sony ericsson w580i - which is a good fone for the price. however buttons break and fall of pretty easily. i had w580i for like 18 months, and only recently a button came of and screen got wrecked. so....ye its ok.

but it seems like it could break easily,

the number buttons are flimsy its confusing for awhile but later its easy and my cousin had it for 1 or two years it didnt break yet but one of the button you cannot see the design on it,but i guess its not that easy to break unless you are a constant phone dropper

Ugh the phone keys break on this phone </3 And the battery lid is IMPOSSIBLE to open and the top sd card slot too is IMPOSSIBLE to open. I bought it awhile ago. Its nice and cheap. Don't know if its still selling.

I tried opening my battery cover but i pressed to hard on the bottom bit of my phone. It made the bit a tad bit wobbly.

Now i just use my nails to lift up the cover and it comes off easily =D Same with the sd slot.

Another problem this phone has is the short ringing time. When someone calls me they only hear the "ring ring" about 5 times and then my voice mail comes up =/

I bought the Sony Ericsson S500i (Silver) yesterday and I yesterday and today was watching all the time videos and other things about the S500i.. and I was a bit angry because the menu was a regular one as used in almost every Sonic Ericsson.. so yeah and I also saw comments saying that after a short period of time the keys will start cracking and that scared me much more.. so today (before 2 hours) I send my phone back to the mobile shop and I got the Nokia N73 (ofc I payed a bit more)..ILIKEIT

I've had this phone since December 2007 and they keys HAVE NOT cracked once. I barely ever have problems with it. Once the speaker didn't work. I resterted the phone and it never happened again.

Mmkay, so for the people who are asking, I've had this phone for about 1 and a half years and the keys ARE cracked, but I think that's only because I text every day a LOT. I charged it with the slider down, and I did that for about a year (which is the time approx. of which the keys weren't cracked) and they seemed comepletely fine. The cracks don't actually make any difference to the usability of the phone.

Also, his menu interface may be different since they have different versions.

cos the keys on each row are connected so when you press one it moves the others so therefore, they will snap real easy if you push a button on each side at the same time if they are on the same row

I love this phone because the sounds at AWSOME! When you play music, the souds are perfect. If you want to put music on the phone you will have to get a memory because it only holds a little bit of MB. And songs are about 3-4 MB. I bought mine and got my money riped off... I got it for about 300 dollars when it was sapose to be way cheaper. NEVER GET IT AT WASHINGTON EDEN!

the only reason the buttons crack is beacause people charge their phone with the slider down. The battery heats up the buttons making them brittle so they snap easily. if you charge it with the slider up then it should be fine. my friend got her buttons replaced and charges it with it up, and they are fine now, shes had the new buttons for over 6 months.

it seems a good phone at first but it turns out to be crap.

2. it doesn't play music/videos out loud. you have to put heaphones in

3. it doesn't recieve songs off other phones so i have to download all my songs from my computer despite having about 3GB memory.
