Ukrainians of Polish ancestry in Lviv (formerly Lviv) are only about 1 percent of the population. Some racist Poles need to remember that this is not fascist Poland of 1939 --but democratic era Ukraine 2011.
Poles are no longer a significant minority in Lviv. There are at least a dozen Ukrainians of Russian ancestry for every Ukrainian of Polish ancestry now.
Ukrainians and Poles know that there are new challenges for both democracies, and that friendship and cooperation are the way to go.
