  • awww lucky! nothing like that here in Southern California. :-(

  • that's the first time ive seen the crackers added...how was it? I used to get these all the time in china when i lived there.

  • this looks very tasty and I'll try and get some of the ingredients thanks for posting!

  • If only we had these kinds of people in America.

  • @IAmSuchANerdLol LOL ever been to a big city? there are venders everywhere....you must live in a small town, just like in small town china vendors are hard to find...

  • This (Jian Bing) is the Chinese remake of the famous Indian food 'DOSA' !!!!!!

  • well, what can i say, again: this video is very good. i would like to taste that food:)

  • Salty soy paste or Plum sauce? i wanna eat that famous " Jian Bing "

  • Please someone answer my questions... Where do i get those fried large noodle or fried wonton? and the batter? Thanks to all.

  • want to eat some!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • chinese Peter Griffin : l

  • love chinese food! esp this one! except that cracker...

  • Hi!

What is the batter made of?

  • @LacerdaPT It's a mix of flour(but it's like a normal crepe recipes :P

The only thing that changes from european crepes is that is filled with chinese stuff :D

  • yumeeeeeeee but its so hot xD

  • yum yum

  • YUP!I am come from Hong Kong,China .I like this dish too . Lt is very tasty!! I like Hong Kong , Chinese local food!!!!!!!!!=D

  • jian bing guo zi

  • damn, looks tasty...but id have to add some bacon or sausage

  • Damn, that was epic street food.

  • now thats a BREAK fast :D

  • That actually looks REALLY good and healthy...cilantro, cabbage...

The only "non-healthy" thinks might be the whole eggs (which includes the yolk and cholesterol) and the sodium-laden plum sauce.

Other than than those two things - yumm!

But what is the base batter made up of??? And what, exactly, are those crackers? They don't look like any Western cracker.

I'm hoping somebody will advise on my two questions.

  • Less greasy version of Blini. The fermented bean curd sauce and the cilantro generate a sharp taste and the egg and the cripsy biscuit as the filling makes it very comforting and satisfying. Dirt cheap too. No better street food in Beijing.

  • @trent8002003 actually, it's not so good if it's in Beijing. The best and is in Tianjin which the city next to Beijing.

  • It certainly looks tasty, but why the plastic bags for a hot crepe? Won't the plastic melt or sth? It's better to use paper bags instead...

  • @Seranevi Don't worry, it won't melt. Paper bags you can only hold it while it's still hot and burn your hands. But with these tiny plastic bags you can hold it on its handles/ears and not get burned.

  • Looks similar to the East Indian Dosa. Thanks for posting this. Now I'm curious to try it.

  • hmm...never try that before but it looks yummy :)

  • I dunno if its just my speakers, but the music drowned your dialogue a little bit.

  • OMGG !! I WANT THIS!! ( i'm chinese! ) AND IT'S SOOOOOOO DELISCIOUS!!!! since i was a kid, every sunday morning, my parents and i would go to this kind of place.. and buy three big bing.. and eat with wonton soup!! AHHH <3 <3 <3 LUV THIS!!

  • oh you got that in 上海 eh i always thought it was just in 北京

  • sooo unhealthy...

  • @konsom04 What do you think is healthier ? A home made Jian Bing or some fucking McMuffin with coke ?

  • @WarrenAch The healthier thing to do in this planet is to WIPE OUT THE DISGUSTING CHINKS FROM THE SURFACE OF THIS PLANET

The yellow slith eyes monkeys from SHIT CHINA are an obstacle to HUMANITY

    GAS THE FUCKING CHINKS :)

    HAHAHA

  • @DemocracynowChina now this is why it's so difficult to live in this world. it's because of people like you.. insensitive ignorant dickheads like you..

please just die in a hole why dont you..

  • @rakistah16 You are locked in a room with Adolf HItler, Staline and a Chinese and you have a 9mm pistol with 2 bullets, what do you do?

Answer: You should the Chink twice in the head to make sure he is dead :)

  • @DemocracynowChina you know what, im not even gonna argue with you cause its useless.. but youre "answer" just shows that youre as evil and as ignorant as hitler and stalin.. now, if i had a 9mm pistol with 2 bullets, i would shoot you instead, cause our society dont need a piece of shit like you..

  • @rakistah16 There is a CHinese guy and a black guy in the back of car, who is driving?

    Answer: A cop :)

  • @rakistah16 What is a good Communist?

    A dead Communist :)

  • @DemocracynowChina If you and Hitler were standing in front of me and I had two bullets I would shoot you. Twice.

  • @konsom04 how is that unhealthy?? lol

  • @konsom04 Compaired to what?

  • I enjoy your video. it s the best about crepes on yt...

  • looks yummy.

  • that looks good :)

  • @hypomyces, the music is "muito quente" by daude

  • Hey man, love the music-who is it, and can I buy it on iTunes?

    Thanks for the help

  • it did taste reli good~tried it be4.....miss d wonderful n how delicious is it!!!<3

  • The Jian bing starts here if you want to skip the talking 0:43

  • Yer luky besterd, wish we had any street food in my island

  • O.M.G .....jajjajajajajajajajaaja....WTF....

  • we don't need a 30 sec intro with your face in it

  • actually, people in northern part of china have this, many people in southern part of china probably dun know what is this!

  • i'd like the recipe for the batter

  • @1982FMJ millet and mung bean...at least how it's normally done, though I don't know if they do it the same way in shanghai though. It's not a shanghai food, and plus, the batter here looks thicker than normal. Jianbing originates in northern China, so you can't eat the original unless you go north.

  • what, no bangers or beans on toast? phtttt

  • The Jian Bing vid starts at 0:45

  • i'd rather the world be full of places like this than mcdonalds. its so much more skilled

  • @1982FMJ And it tastes(spelling) alot better

  • Yummy, what song did you use?

  • Is this in shanghai or beijing?

  • oh my god this is SOOOO AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ARGHHH I CANT HOLD MYYSELFLFLLFLFL.

  • that 炸酱 (zha jiang) not plum sauce.. plum sauce r sweeter

  • i had one of those.... tasteeee soooo goood =D

  • This is a weird question but what does plum sauce taste like?

  • @MixMeAdrink as someone pointed out, it's not plum sauce they put on it, (which tastes like jam made out of a prune). instead it's a salty soy paste, with a dark smokey taste

  • @jpv206 is it "hoy seen jerng"? this sweetish saltyish sauce?

  • @jpv206 more simpler it's sweet and sour...... with a dark in riched orange colour.

  • @jpv206 that sounds rly good

  • Comment removed

  • @jpv206 It's Tian mian jiang, which is a sweet and salty sauce similar to Hoisin sauce (Wikipedia both!)

  • lol ikr i never tasted one eveither

  • i always want to eat that the first thing when i go back to china :D

  • WHts is the crushy fried item they put on your breakfast how those these jianbing taste like ???:)

  • @lababydoll123 it tastes like a crunchy fried cracker. not a lot of flavor, but a lot of crunch.

  • @lababydoll123 i think its deep fried octopus or some inda dried crunchy seafood

  • @lababydoll123

It's called a fried wonton, it's a deep fried large noodle, essentially.

  • Haha the guy learned a beijing accent :P

  • the onions and the hot sauce wouldnt work in a breakfast for me

  • no plum sauce in it, it should be Cantonese sweet sauce( also name Hoisin sauce/ Chinese barbeque-like sauce).

  • "the sweet plumbs dipped in caramel"

northern chinese street food? what's that?

  • in mandarin the fried crunchy stick is "you zha gui" while the more frequently used name is "you tiao" (literally "oily stick")

  • mistake: no plum sauce (it should be some bean paste) in it. It's salty crepe.

BTW, there should be no cabbage but chopped green onion.

Of course the fried cracker is wonderful:)

  • wow looks good, how much did it cost?

  • 2 Chinese yuan ($0.3), sth like that..

  • what, no bacon, or sausage??

  • We're Asian Lol

  • at least eggs:)

  • That looks so tasleful!

  • it's even tastier than it looks!

  • I always wonder what they put in those pancake and none of other video show the ingredients. Now I knew the ingredients from watching your video. Thank you for posting this video.

  • I spent 6 months in Guangzhou. I did not see this. I did see and get a small crepe' already made with eggs scallions plum and hot spread. Folded. Much smaller. I will have to look for this. I'm going back in 2 weeks!

  • this is a northern street food, originally from the coastal city of Tian Jin (天津)。 no wonder people in the south never had it!

  • good !!

  • can i know the song in this video please

  • The chinese charakters are wrong. The correct ones are:

    煎饼

  • those are the characters he has in the very beginning.

the other characters he used are preceded by jp, which i assume means they are the japanese characters....

(although assumptions make an ass out of u and me....lol)

  • omg i want that now

  • ohhh....looks really REALLY good !!

  • why do they always 4get the fake sausages?!?!?!?
