If Bush and Cheny represent Sulter and Credy than the world has nothing to fear. We'd do better to fear politicans that know their views are wrong but continue to push them anyways rather than die-hards.
@SickBritKid "Like Barry O, mirite?" - Yeah actually yet people who KNOW very well of his failings wont take responsibility and disown him as a rational peson would do and try to make up schemes on how he did a good job, he hasnt, not in anything but theory anyways. People dont want to take responsibility.
I've noticed that there are about 5 different scenes from this film on youtube that are described as the best scene in the movie. I think that's the sign of a great film =)
this story brings to mind the bilderburg group and the central bank power that is trying to globalize our world. and in the process they are using instead a virus to do it. they are using the economy as their vehicle to spead fear panic and divide the people. it is through this they are putting their agenda into place. it is we as good citizens that must prepare and inform ourselves of this. and put a stop to it.
@TheSundown2010 The probelm is why does it take it so long for your "evil" men to rise to power? It seems unlikeley that they want more power than they already posess. It's like waiting for the second comming. It's a more flexible system of control to have evrey one becoming perverts. Look at publicity, sex is used as to empower objects in the name of free entreprise. So does perversion.
Yes, indeed, but how can we tell it was not the director's intention? Do we know for sure that he wanted to criticize dictatorship generally, and not just Bush? The movie did not strictly follow the plot of the comic and its anti-Thatcher idea.
Par example, Orwell wrote "The Animal Farm" as the critic of Stalin's oppressive regime, but later on it turned up that it can be easily applied on any other.
Is that v's true face, thought he's a burn victim?
This politician is Bush. Deeply religious, fake terrorism.
Jack Grimes, thinks Bush will start a pandemic around the time of the election, to become a latter day Stalin. The last link to make the films reality complete.
@Jackalman99 not just bush. in the past and the present, many politians use the same trick to achieve their objective because most people vote with their hearts, not their heads.
@Jackalman99 "This politician is Bush. Deeply religious, fake terrorism" -Fake? Really? "The last link to make the films reality complete" - Only to mad conspiracy theoriests
@ToxinalX "One shouldn't be surprised of such a comment with the shit that IS going in the United States." - I'm not saying you cant draw paralels to the US government through this movie, or any government anywhere in the world for that matter, but to say that Bush and Cheny (Represented as Sutler and Credy) are the THESIS of this movie is simply incorrect.
@ToxinalX "Not that you in any way should TRUST your goverment, because you truly are a fool if you do that." - I'd have to disagree. The problem is the people who trust their government rarely want to be accountible when that government goes agaisnt their interests. Thats a problem on BOTH sides of the political spectrum these days.
@GermanConquistador08 The exrtreme would, be if you truly trusted in your government, you would be fine with giving it any powers and all of your money without restrictions. Yet, I would be surprised if you were that naive.
@T3ISS "be if you truly trusted in your government, you would be fine with giving it any powers and all of your money without restrictions." -No because I can trust my government without giving it unlimited power. People should see the government as THEIR child, not the other way around. You give the government what it needs but limits must be in place that have been set beyond the collective, in the US's case its the constitution and its time we took back our credit card.
@SickBritKid Sweden, Holland etc. There is not a president with seemingly unlimited powers and elected officials are restricted. Some things are punnished hard however, like minor possession of drugs etc.
What could have been good is that the party had not created the virus.

It can be applied yes, but Jackalman99 was saying that IT IS about Bush, not that it can be applied to his presidency / his actions.

I just love the fact that V has a northern accent as he does this story. Hugo Weaving really is brilliant as V.

You know that it was originally a book written in the 80s? Norsefire was meant to represent Thatcher's Britain, it had nothing to do with the USA.

@Boico101 Agreed, mate, but the plot and its main characters are generally recognizable in many regimes.

@GermanConquistador08 I at least almost and mostly agree with you.
However, after all, this is a movie intended to encourage goverment critical thinking...

@GermanConquistador08 Sure. But I never said that. This movie is a fiction of an English Dystopia.
Not that you in any way should TRUST your goverment, because you truly are a fool if you do that.
Most countries can consider themselves freer these days, than the United States.

Suckling government teats =/= freedom. That's dependency on entitlements.
