You can, however, copy the HTML address which points to your calendar and email the link a Gmail group (or a group created in any other email client, for that matter). As logical as it would seem to be able to share directly to a Gmail contacts group, that doesn't seem possible at this time, at least not according to my research.
Very nice tutorials. Just wondering, in the case of sharing the calendar with specific people, is it possible to still share it with everyone and then give specific people the allowance to change the calendar?
Is it possible to have a "group email list" so you don't have to type in all the emails each time you want to share the calendar?

@powermikertje Yes, you can make the calendar public, but then give specific people edit rights (make changes to events).
