The only reason songs like this cop flak from fans is that at their peak they were even better. If this record were released by any other band it would probably be hailed as their magnum opus, but Iron Maiden just set the bar too high for themselves. Up the Irons!!!!

i will admit.. it's good,, but not maiden great, the proof is they don't use it on their own tours anymore.. but those songs had to get out of there system,, they wouldn't be as good as they are now if they hadn't got the bad stuff out of the way.. now they know what works and which direction to head.. it's like a family with 15 kids.. that 13th kid will be president,, but not untill the first 12 are out of the way.

Good song from a poor album. If they had taken the good songs from NPFTD and FOTD and made one album it would have been great.

Three problems with your theory: 1. This album is recorded very differently that FOTD, it would not fit sound wise. 2. These two albums have very different styles both musically and vocal wise. 3. The lyrical content and musical themes are very different to each other.

The point is that Maiden makes Albums and not hit singles. You should be able to identify the album by just hearing one song, this song definitely comes from NPFTD.

Been a Maiden for 15 years, and think this whole album is brilliant. Also, I've never understood why people come and watch a video and then use their comments to slag it off. I don't like Take That, so I don't watch their videos or listen to their songs. Would be a complete waste of time to watch something you don't like.

A decent song. What's so incredible about this track? In my opinion nothing. It has a similar bridge from 'the evil that men do' and the same refrain of 'the clairvoyant'! Is the time to live...is the time to die..After listening an album like Seventh Son it's very hard to describe this as a masterpiece...please...

You're kinda right. Even though No Prayer for the Dying is an overall good album, the last GREAT album by Maiden was in 1988. You cannot compare any album after SSOTSS to any of the albums released between 1980-1988.

Ok, everyone has the right to its own opinion. I just dont dig totally the Iron Maiden with 7-6 minutes long songs. That doesnt means I dont think is good. But hey, a guy who learned to play bass from and because of Iron Maiden, who by the age of 16 knew roughly all Maidens lyrics, that went to all their concerts in the country I lived (Brazil) back then - even the concert with Blaze Bailey ;-) -, is not a Maiden fan? Wrong! You can not like the full discography of a band but still be a fan.
