  • nice video, but you should have shown how to rub the skis after you scrape the wax.

  • In addition, you can always take your board or skis in for a wax at your local REI if you don't want to take on the task yourself. Watch for the free wax we offer to members before the winter begins!

  • The temperature should be lower for softer/warmer wax and higher for harder/colder wax. The approximate iron temperature is often printed on the wax box. Check out the article on our Expert Advice section of REI's site called "Glide Waxing Your Skis or Snowboard" for even more info!

    Cheers!

  • How hot should the iron be?

  • What wax can u use

  • Good video.

Listen to the info, its all very informative.

    Thank you.

  • I don't secure my ski on the vise while ironing since ski will try to reverse camber.

  • you can use a metal scraper as long as you dont prees to hard as it can scrape the base of your board it is the same as a plastic scraper it kinda depends on the sharpness

  • Nice job. I never new about scraping it down to get to the wax in the base. I would only take a couple passes and thought I was done.

  • how long do you let it cool for a base wax?

  • about 30 minutes, depending on the wax. But the best time IMO would be one entire night.
