Through documentaries on German TV about the Nazis and their work I have learned that when they did sterilize or the person died /killed intentionally they sent a letter informing family of the death and requiring a burial fee! I've worked at schools with special needs children, and what I notice that Neurotypicals have difficulty considering especially Autistic children even human.
I don't have trouble siding more often with the kids, as I went on for 26 years of my life with an undiagnosed autism spectrum disorder hampering me.

Actually, morgandrim, you've made me realise that 'artificial' evolution may well be part evolution itself - after all artificial evolution is a product of the human mind/will, itself a product of evolution. Eugenics might be a 'logical' extension of Darwinism, but it still stinks, and trust me:there's a direct line from Galton to the Nazis via the Americans. I know you didn't mean wrong as in morally wrong, but i just can't get morals out of my head with Eugenics, Racial Hygiene and genocide...

I think we have - more or less - a consensus ad idem, edmoriarty. I have to confess I am no expert in the social and moral ( and political ) history of Europe during the last 150 years. But what you say is most interesting : "...but it still stinks." ( ie Galtonism ). Yes it does. But I think there has to be a case for examining why it stinks. Particularly here and now, in our country today.

Poor jews they had to suffer. But I do believe Eugenics is the key to success in the future. We must sterilize the poor populations they can't help themselves but breed to much. It's better to be sterilized than to be killed I think all would agree on this.

Ironically, the opposite is currently happening in Western Countries - Dysgenics (see Richard Lynn's book 'Dysgenics: Genetic Deterioration in Modern Populations').
People of above average IQ tend to have fewer children than those with below average IQ. Intelligence is considered between 50%-70% inherited (shown by twin- and adoption-studies).

Voluntary positive eugenics still exist when intelligent people chose to have many children. Involuntary negative eugenics still exist when mentally ill inmates are incarcerated or executed in prisons and thus have a reduced chance at reproduction.

indeed. even the genomes of flies and humans are 75% identical. i think that most of the genome is just a basis on with the other code can operate. like in the java programming language there are a few megabytes of basic classes and a usual java program has just around 100 kB.

Harriman, heir to the Union Pacific Railroad fortune created Eugenics Records Office which funded the work of Harry Laughlin (who was also involved in the Johnson act) wrote the Model Sterilisation Law which Heidelburg University Awarded him for and Nazi eugenicists used as a model for their 1933 Sterilisation Act

I`m jumping in on this conversation without reading much of the debate, 1schwererziehbar1, but what you say may be interesting. There may be race specific bioweapons, to my mind. there are certain types of anaemias present - particularly in W. Africa - that confer some resistance to malaria. This could be exploited.

Claiming that eugenics is wrong because hitler beleived in it is like claiming that gravity is wrong because hitler beleived in it. Before WWII most scientists beleievd in Eugenics and there is plenty of proof today to show that it is a valid science. Also there a practical applications of eugenics that could be apllied to todays society without infringing on basic human rights.

I'm American and live in Germany for nearly 10 years. Through documentaries on German TV about the Nazis and their work I have learned that when they did sterilize or the person died /killed intentionally they sent a letter informing family of the death and requiring a burial fee! The families thought that the person was safe and didn't realize they were being tortured.
