@tradingpilot I agree with you, got to love the way they set it all to rock guitar music when anything goes well.
And how they make a meal out of a 0.5 degree misalignment when rolling it in. Oh and I don't know if you picked it up the 8 or 9 times it's mentioned, but apparantly Beluga can't fly in winds over 35 mph, I missed that the first 7 times :)
If it is such a danger to fly and has so many flaws why should it be cleared for flight, it's just a flight hazard. The Antonov has the same cargo size, and is way safer to fly than this "unique" plane.
@JaWayne5 It's not a danger to fly. Half the maneuvers they're describing as dangerous can be and are commonly performed by many aircraft - including the AN-225.
Flying is dangerous. I suppose nobody told that to these filmmakers.

6:29 Sorry narrator explain to me how one steers a plane into wind while on the ground. Impossible imo. Thx uploader for the videos. Don't think it's the most accurate video though. Very dramatic (just for tv offcourse)
@MrDantesmith .......you serious? you would point the nose of the airplane into the direction the wind is blowing from, pilots call it weather vaining
@hunterTS4 Yes am serious?I am a Pilot. It's impossible to steer an aircraft into wind while taking off, you will go off the runway, you can only do that in the air ( drift/sideslip) to maintain track. An aircraft has to maintain wings level and the pilot uses rudder to maintain runway centreline (not to drift into wind) and once in the air take up a heading to maintain runway heading or whatever track desired.Never heard of weather vaining. Google crosswing takeoff for details
they make cross wind landing sound unusual and that it require talent to do it , pilots who just start there training and who have 10 or 15 hours , they learn how to land the plane in cross wind , man i hate media
Besides, separate stearing for the wheels only enables easier taxiing, ie cornering on narrow taxiways and platforms, it does not enable one to land easier in crosswinds.
@MaxSafeheaD you dont know the faintest idea about airplanes so then say nothing about design if you even not know why the design of airplanes is like that
@MaxSafeheaD lol u no nothing about planes do you. in commercial airlines they have a wheel for steering, rudder for air turns and yoke for banking. nah i cant be fucked explaining to a dickhead like you.
Apart from Airbus Beluga being european you are absolutely right. The only problem is that only one airplane is able to steer the wheels in the back away from the longitudinal axis and that is the B-52. One may wonder why since it is absolutely ingenious.
Incredible!

It so stupid. "Its the captain job do get the plane into air bla bla"
Thats just "wrong" since the coPilot is the one who does 95% of the work.
Its true. Look it up.. Since the CoP needs to "learn".
You become a captain later on and let your little jedi do the job..

There is not alot of weight to carry. It's mostly air. That does not require 3 or 4 large engines.

Typical crappy American design.
why don't they have seperate stearing for the wheels - then they could land perfectly at all sorts of angles.

Have you ever seen the B-52 land in heavy crosswinds?
The user "scottishguy1969" has one movie clip with a B-52 that shows exactly that capability.
