actually all big daddys have no sexuality they are often refered to as 'it' just because it is called rosie does not mean it is a she but the fact you are a man in bioshock 2 who is turned into a rosie (from what you see from gameplay) leads me to think that its all random.

Named after the Rosie the Riveter - because they carry a rivet gun. The other type of Big Daddy is the Bouncer - they are the ones with the drills.

Rosies and Bouncers are both Big Daddies.

There called "bouncers" because bouncers are huge guys outside of restaurants and nightclubs mostly, and they "keep the peace" the big and mean.. Like big daddy's.

Basically, the word bouncer basically means "big, strong, mean, protector"
