I remember seeing this film in the middle of war, in 1943, as 14 years old boy, discovering the world completly unknown to me..... I lived then in Wilno (Vilnius), the opressions of war around me - and suddenly the song of Maria Holst. Three or four times I went to cinema to look the film of Willi Forst., I really loved Maria.... And of course I began discovering Strauss melodies. Now I am 81 - but I remember, and I was happy to look the part of film. Thanks to Operalou !
