@ERICROJO156 yes its acquired but very quickly at that. it has structure to it if you really listen. its not just random violining. took me a few listens but i love it now.

The last two Fleet Foxes albums are the only two cd's I have bought in the last 5 years. There is a lot of great music out there to be had, even if you have to search a little. Yet, the Foxes are the only ones that I have listened to lately that make me feel that it is my duty to support in these hard times. They have that "something special" and I want more for many years to come.
I think Robin and the guys were just screwing around for the last bit. Does it really need to be artistry? What's the point of a band if you can't have fun?
I think it;s a saxophone, saw them play this live the other day (what type I'm not certain, although they may have tinkered with the sax - they have adapted a few instruments - guitarxophone!). The roof was almost blown off. It was an awesome moment and a beautiful concert.
Can't anyone take a bit of dissonance? It's perfect in my opinion. The only sense in which 6:25 'ruins' the song is that is changes the tone to something more sinister, which is exactly what it's supposed to do. Good on Fleet Foxes for being more than just pretty, I say.
Robert Pecknold is the kind of person that you can't just be happy listening to.. You have to see his face as he sings to really feel the aching emotion.<3 I would marry this man. Ugly, beautiful...poor, rich...naked, a nun. I would do it.
I disagree that it ruins the song, it adds a very interesting twist. Nice to see experimental-sounding stuff. Not all music is written to be popular. There was obviously something that they were trying to convey beyond the music
I would like everyone to know that I'm almost positive that the "Argument" is played at least one bass clarinet. maybe a clarinet, maybe multiple. but at least the bass clarinet.
love how no-one really knows what is making those noises. Elephants? Angry ducks? A sentient saxophone? Who knows, but it's still disturbing and awesome!

I like how the song transitions through its parts. It doesn't attempt to carry the rhythm and pitch of the beginning all the way through.
