  • @starryflight88 it's not scary for me... because I have that kind of bird... <3 Guess people with no experience... yeah.

  • @suzyjonas

Your right i don't have any experience... I've had a budgie but never a lovebird. I'm going to get lovebird sometime...(I wish...)

  • @starryflight88 I've been a bird owner for 8yrs or so :)

  • How can you tell if there male or female. PLZ pst me back

  • nice song :)

  • Oh that is just wonderful! I still miss the baby robin I took in Memorial Day weekend back in 2007 who apparently fell out of his nest and wandered around till he go to my stairwell. I saw him on the lower stairs, was on my way to Church so I just walked on, and when I got back he'd worked his way almost up to my door. My heart went out to him instantly! He tried to get away when I captured him into a foot tub, but I gained his trust very quickly. I loved those 2 days together.

  • great videoo :)

my lovebirds just had a baby like 2 weeks ago the clutch hd only 2 eggs but only one bird was born:)

  • very nice video :-) i love birds :-) <3

  • I need this song!

  • I've been doing research online and I keep referring to your age progression as a reference. My lovebirds had an egg hatched and the baby has been growing. But, the strangest thing. He's not growing those soft, downy feathers like your birds are his wing and head feathers are coming in nicely, but he has no downy feathers. I know the mother will pluck the babies feathers occassionally because he has a few isolated red marks every so often.

  • He has the thicker ones growing in along his back, but he looks relatively bald on his back and underside. He's alert when I take him out, very energetic and all that, so I know the parents are still feeding him and whatnot (I hope!) The only thing i can think of is that the mother is very aggressive against people, and maybe she is rough with the baby (About 20 days old?) because I take him out everyday. Could temperature be the cause?

  • What beautiful birds!!!!

  • im trapped, i bought a cage for two birds to live perfectly in but they mated and now they are about to lay eggs and soon there will be no space, and im searching to buy a bigger cage but cant find one, and by the way, what should i put in their cage for them to build a nest, paper or coconut skin or something and how do the babies eat, will the parents chew nuts and give it to them, im so new to breeding, im not ready but i have no choice, its not like i can kill the babies. i need some help.

  • hihi... i have a Q: why doesnt my lovebird incubate/sit on the egg when its only the first few days until it reached the 4th or 5th eggs? among all the eggs only 1 survive?

Yesterday she laid an egg but she "ignore" it. wud you suggest i incubate it myself or let them handle it? im just afraid if it took them dat long to sit on it, it might not make it.

PLEASE HELP ME SO I HAVE A PEACE AT MIND. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION. =)

  • if the mother bird is agressive would that make the baby birds agressive as well?

ALSO we touched my birds babies, we found the baby bird dead, we still dont know but we think the mother did it, is it possible for a mother bird to kill her own babies if you touch them?

    ~Thanks

  • Nice birds!!

if you let the parents take care of the babies, can you also take the babies out of the nest every now and then? or does that disturb the parents?

    Daniel

  • @MrManedan Depends on how trusting they are and the relationship you have with them.

  • @MrManedan if you let the parents raise your baby lovebirds, they will be less friendly though.

  • @MrManedan hey that's also my name!

  • Very cool

  • o forgot to say dat d reason i left at my aunts cuz so she could have family me aunt has d same types n wen me cousin called me i ask her how did she died she said that me aunt found her dead inside a little bird cage i think she had made a nest already i was thinking dat maybe she was trying to lay her eggs n she couldnt cuz wen she was living with us she layed like 9 or more eggs she sufered so much y did she had to died *sniff*

  • @ImmaBudgieLover We love Dewey and Sierra so much also! They are so dear to us. It takes around 10 days.

  • @stargazrt4 , I really need your help! I have two "problems".

Problem #1: I would like to get into the bird breeding 'business', not for the money, for the love :3, What would be a good bird to start with. I was thinking Lovebirds... but i was also thinking Bourkes Parakeets? What do you think? And what do I need to know before I start?

Problem #2: Can you make a short list of the things I will need to buy and your feeding schedule and such..

You guys do it so well. You inspire me. Thank you.

  • This is amazing! When do they start seeing??

  • 25 is like a chocobo lol

  • awwww those are some really healthy looking chicks. You guys did a great job on taking care of them. one question though: was it hard?

  • my friend also has some babies from his pair of lovebirds. they allways ran into your hands because it was nice and warm. but when they got older and got the ability to fly, it was total chaos! XD

  • can lovebirds grow at different speeds because when i got mine the woman said i couldnt buy him till another week.he was full grown at 2 weeks she said=x he just didnt have much color

  • Is it true that their colours deepen as they get older? I just purchased a 3 month old peach-faced lovie, his face is currently a pale red, just wondering if it will go darker? :)

  • hi, anyone know what is the best age of lovebird I should buy, I want to buy one about 20 days old, is that too young, i do want to try weaning them.

  • Wow, first 10 days are very slow after that they growth very fast

  • Our love bird is 16 year now, old like me and looks the same at the pics wen he sits on my head.

do you know how old they can get??

  • They can live 20 years. A healthy bird can live a tiny bit longer. Good on you for keeping him so healthy for so long!

  • wow 16 years that means you take great care on your bird, the lifaspan of a love bird is up to 15 years idk if its on the wild or in captive... but one thing is for sure your making a great companion for your bird.. good luck to all of us and to our birds

  • how old were your babies when they were weaned? and at what age did you start introducing seed and other foods to formula?

  • 8 weeks, 3 weeks, and we don't introduce seed. Seed is bad.

  • You are totally right!

  • @disturbed388 I think there's something wrong with your eyes, they were cute even when they were babies.

  • so lovely!!

  • cute____*_*

  • Thanks Guys - That was great!

  • so is it not good for people to sell them to people as babies for hand rearing?

  • No it's not. It is very irresponsible on the breeder's part and frowned upon.

  • if i get a lovebird and hand rear it and then wait a couple of months and get another one of the opposite sex and hand rear that will they bond together and if they do will they still be tame to me?

  • The breeder should not be giving you a unweaned bird.

  • Aww my lovebird's baby is today 10 days old and he(she) is opening his(her) eyes! This is the first time my birdies have babies. :3

I made some videos when he was 1 day old and one week old. :)

I wish I could know the colours of him. His mom is red and light green and dad is red, yellow and green. Guess he will turn red and green aswell, right?

Anyway, whats the name of the song? I love it really much. :D

    ~ * Loverbird Lover! * ~

  • Cuteeee

  • I'd like to ask, where do you keep those babies when they 1st hatched, in the cage with the female bird? By the way, what & how do you hand-feed them?

When they're weaned, do they fly around your room or will they stay on the ground? Will it be safe to open my windows? Thanks =)
