BTW...I have to give props to Dominique as well. He was definitely one of, if not the best dunkers of his time. What was special about him was how many spectacular dunks he make during games. That's why he got the nickname of the "human highlight film". But Jordan may have been the best dunker ever. It didn't matter if it was a game or the dunk contest he just had the combination of hops and that burst of speed that always seemed to put him in position for incredible dunks.

Jordan's gaceful style comes from the Dr J. The most graceful dunker of them all. But very powerful too. Dexler's graceful style was closer to Dr. J. Dominique to me was the best dunker of the era between him and Jordan. He had is own style and the power and acrobats was beautiful.

Mwh, DW was a better slammer than Jordan. Jordan had some nice dunks, but there were better dunks from other players. Julius Erving, Clyde had some nasty dunks and can't forget Koby. Koby has nastier dunks than Jordan. As DW, he too could do it both in games and contest.

I know I'm commenting late here but this WAS NOT the official dunk contest. The was an impromptu exhibition after the All-Star game had concluded. Spud had already beat Dominique in the official dunk contest the night before the game. I went to NC State while Spud was playing there an he was incredible to watch. Not just for his hops but for his quickness and his ability to penetrate the lane amongst the land of the giants. He could also step back and hit the 3 if the defense sagged on him.

You judge a dunk contest by who's the best dunker, not who is the best dunker for their height. Spud Webb can never do the type of dunks that someone 6'8" with hops can do, so because of the height advantage Dominique is a better dunker than Spud. Also Spud had a 42inch vertical, David Thompson had a 44 inch vertical, and Steve Francis had a 43 inch vertical.

Jordan is with the chicago bulls he was probly at his house,this was after a game I belive.Spud Webb was the symbol for us short people on dunking.He proved that even tho you may be short you can still accomplish anything a big person can.Nique can dunk with ease but being bigger he has less hang time as spud and not much flexability,ive never seen him do a 360 before.
