Most of these men back in the day worked all their lives in the coal mines and all over the country too. They had friends, family and neighboors that worked int he coal mines all or most of their lives too. I don't think we had OSHA back then to knwo it was bad for the lungs but these men wern't afraid of hard work
Good observation. Sometimes when I meet people in show business, they shake my hand that way and I wonder if they are trying to determine if I am a Mason too.
