If you want to really enjoy a mine then I highly recomend the Clipper mine which lies across the Carbon River from this mine which is inside Mt Rainier Nat'l Park. Cross the Carbon River Bridge just before entering the Carbon River entrance to Mt Rainier Nat'l Park and drive 6.3 or 6.8 miles up and a large(ish) boulder/rock marks the trailhead on the left. You can't miss it, it lies between two small waterfalls. Wear waterproof boots. Watch the Clipper Mine video here on you tube.
The entrance is open! You can go in about 15 feet and then there is a mettal grate. But the slates are pretty wide so visibility is excellent (bring a flashlight!). It is a really cool trip- very short. The way is somewhat blocked now by downed trees. Very cool to see inside the mine.
I walked in there a couple times before they blocked the entrance. It only went back 100 feet or so, kinda disappointing.

Is it possible to enter? We've explored the Clipper Mine across the river from there near Cora Lake. You should consider it.

Sorry... the entrance is completely blocked. No way in... not even a gap large enough to put the camera.

Why didn't you peek into the entrance?
