Quick queston, what is a power forwards job and a dangler...i see a tugh guy is suppose to hit and fight, a sniper is suppose to score goals, and a playmaker is suppose to create plays and get assist...but what do power forwards and danglers do?
How do I use my pro player I created when playing Team Versus Online? I created the guy and when I play online I have my number and physical characteristics but the wrong name. The name changes depending on the team I'm on. I've tried deleting him and jhe won't go away either
I dont understand.... How can I come in and basically be "Wayne Gretzky", winning all of these awards including the Stanly cup scoring 230 points.... and then the next year have my number stolen by a teammate? WTF!!! Not only was i not named a captain but my number was taken from me and given to another teammate? There are still some major things that need to be worked out in this mode!
@karpy10 What is your Overall rating? I don't know how EA determines who changes their number, but if I had to guess it would either be the OV rating or the player's age, with the older player getting priority. I know for captaincy it seems that way, in my Be A GM mode, I have Dion Phaneuf as Captain but ever since getting the Sedins, the game always picks one of them instead when I seem a few months. It annoys me to no end.
@karpy10 something similar happened to me too.. i went to the prospects game and got first star so the team that picked me put me to the pros right away.. for the first 4 games i had a 3 point average per game and they sent me to minors saying i needed more seasoning

I suck at be a pro in NHL 10! And it's also very boring that you cannot play the hole match! I like when I can play the hole macth and not one faceoff and then I play under the next faceoff! -_- I really hate be a pro!
Personally the dolomite is garbage, had it for a month. went into a corner battling for the puck and the guy snapped it. and i was like aww you dick....
@greendayjr14 After 3 years, your contract will expire and your agent will tell you which teams are interested in your player. As for getting traded, it's a tough one. Sometimes doing bad will get you traded and others have said doing really good on a bad team can get you traded to a playoff team. The best way to switch teams is like I said, wait for your contract to end (you can sim games) and pick another team. With any luck the Caps will be one of the teams interested.
no u cant but after you spend the 3 yrs with the edmonton oilers and at the end of the year u will get a contract from another team do u can get a contract with the caps
its a great game but some things i think they could add is actual blood for double minors, post game interviews where u have the choice of what to say, team meetings and practices and the coach actually looking like the real coach but overall really good game
ok so for the 1st 5 games for the van canucks i totalled 13 assists and then my coach moved me to the second line telling me my stats need to improve why why does this happen?
@jamacianziggy1 What is your position and player type. A sniper needs to score goals, a playmaker needs assists, a tough guy needs to hit and so on.
Not playing to your player type will not make you a great player in your coaches eyes. A sniper that can't score is not doing what he is paid to do regardless if he is a plus 100 and has 200 assists. It's stupid yes, but that's how it works.
I had the same problem and I dont think the player type is important for this. In one season I scored like 30 goals in 12 games and the coach moved me to the second line for no reason. I'm a Sharpshooter so its my job to score goals. Weird Coach...
@jamacianziggy1 same happend to me, im Playmaker, Assist and Goalleader in the whole NHL... Moved to second line... But the second line is always starting, it's strange :)
I miss my nhl 10n be a pro, i got drafted in the new york rangers (first round, yes bragging, haha), either scored or got an assist all the time. and for my team before i got drafted i had 42 goals 83 assists something like that. then for being in the rangers now im the top scorer and hitter.
by the way i was a right wing sniper which is my favorite position. i cant belive for nhl 11 i have to start over.
its very awesome playing as be a pro and having equipment you use in real life like the CCM U, skates mine are V but they look like exactly the same and they had my stick in nhl10 and nhl09 it had the stick i had previously
@CsRNJ0511 If you had a clue you would realize I was playing as a Tough Guy. Tough Guys seldom (if ever) get drafted in the 1st round. To increase your rank as a Tough Guy you need to hit alot and fight. Goals are not your priority as this player type (I was first on my team in goals and points). If you want to easily get into the first round, just choose the sniper player type and score goals.
I have tried changing my dudes name to my real name... and put that play name on... or w.e... So the announcer says that name and not: "wow and number 92 scores again!" cuz thats annoying...
Cant change my name or my play by play name... Sucks but i may make a new guy... Dont want to tho cuz i just started my 3rd year on the NHL with 2 stanly cups behind me... And it wasnt easy... Won the stanly cup in OT game 7... I got the goal 2 :D
i was wondering has this ever happened to anyone. so i was in the ahl then they brought me up to the nhl, first game went alright second game i played i had to do something half way through so i quit. so the next day i replayed that game and all of sudden i basically had unlimited stamina and it pissed me off because i want it as real as possible

@verlaPS3 what i meant is that you have a chance to actually play with the team you want. so i picked Anaheim. i got 4 games to impress the coach so i can stay with the Ducks and i did.
@wazhockey It may change depending on which version you get. In Europe they use cm for height. I remember way back getting NHL 2005 and buying the game in Quebec. In the French version (practically the same game), the only difference was the height measurements.
So tho only thing I can think of is either you got a PAL version (Europe) or a French version (if they even exist). It could also be in the Game Settings somewhere. I may have to take a look :).
Just if anyone's interested in knowing be a pro has changed, when you pick your team i.e. LA Kings you play 4 pre-season games and can stay with the team.

@TheBashedBurrito thats sounds kinda strange. did you cancel at any time? cause if so thats messed up cause the game automatically sims till pre-season.
@SangamEquilibrium They do, the problem is play well enough in the tournament to warrant that. I haven't been able to do it although I got high 2nd round.
@SangamEquilibrium it depends on the type of player you are cause i was a tough guy and got 4 goals 3 assists and 2 goals 3 assists and the same for the other 3 games and i got picked 65th overall an when i was a sniper and only had 1 goal 1 assist per game and got 3rd overall
@SangamEquilibrium well i just got the game today and was messing around in the be a pro mode i played on pro for windsor as center afterr 4 games i was actually picked 1st round by the oilers. i was surprised and i also unlocked the achievement for it
@SangamEquilibrium they allow you to get picked # 1 because i got picked # 1 by oilers. I played every game and got over 1 point and im on the first line now
for stickes i use a Titan Retro, i was drafted 1st overall by Edmonton as a Two-way forward. I win the Memorial cup as the Vancouver Giants :)

a bigger radius makes you faster but tight turns are harder to do.
