Coyotes are way harder to kill then deer. You sometimes can only kill them with soon shots/direct heart or lungs. I've shot a few with a 7mm and watched them run off dragging legs and could never track them. So a shot gun is not very accurate at all for this.

@failboats Yep, I will definitely second this. I have several stands that coyotes will come too close for most rifles so a shotgun works great.
