  • As impressive as his guitar abilities are.... it's not what impresses me the most about Andy. It's his damn memory. The man can remember the name, words, guitar part, probably all others as well, to damn near any song you could come up with. And play it off top of his head. I just don't get it......

  • Holy crap he is a great guitarist...

  • From which magazine is this???Where can i foun tab for this???thanks

  • Holy freakin cow.....

  • "...somthin like that"

  • How can i get the tab for this, or video it came from

    Please

  • This is so freaking tasty that i almost pissed my self! I love Andy sooo much! ^^

  • man you got a sore tooth on the left side of your jaw

  • Does anyone have tabs?.?.?.....of ACID! I always plaly better when I am trippin'. I am Andy Trippins

  • @MrTippingthevelvet this is from guitarone magazine july2006 issue with tony iommi on the cover best i can do but got the tabs though

  • 'Something like that' he said. I wish!

  • Give my Mesa...druuuuling with gas.

  • hurt your guitar not this video of masterpiece by pressing DISLIKE IT!

  • I saw Andy years ago at Thouroughbred Music in tampa. Never forgot that performance.

  • Very few musicians in the world have the improvisational skills of Andy Timmons. There's a very good reason why he is called upon to do studio work by so many big name artists.

    A true guitar virtuoso.....

  • What a tone!

  • perfect example of creativity and technicality

  • The 20 people who dislike this are for sure some of this idiots who are thinking "wuuh, more than 2 notes per second, shredder with no feeling"

  • 20 idiot people were dislikes..damn..

  • @samlempok yur kiddin me, there's computers where you reside?

  • Andy Timmons is a Cool Guy... Make it look Symple...

  • Fuck all yall nigaaz yalls ignant

  • i get to see him friday at my music store its gonna be awesome

  • only shit

  • already better than anything i will ever write, its almost funny

  • Andy is AWESOME!!!! I'm glad I got to meet him!!!!

  • -_- that's ridiculous. seriously. haha RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME :-D

  • so many amazing musicians out there, encouraging me to give up.

  • Holy butthole that improv was amazing!

  • tabs?

  • omg

    andy is amazing

  • im sorry..... wot......

    that was amazin !!!!

  • hey ttubeheadd you are truly a fuckin dipshit !

  • @mks5150 man.. cool down it was just a question , you can be glad i asked or i wouldnt know it now :D

  • Anybody have tab for this whole thing, or the description of each figure that must have been with video? I'd appreciate it a lot.

  • He´s so good, unreal! To play any better is impossible.

  • Bebop sorry ...

  • He said "Bebob B Chromatic"

  • who is B. Bobby ? he sayd that name at 0:42

  • "Bebop"y dude

  • bebop is a scale...sound more jazzy....andy timmons use a lot of bebop ideas.

  • thanks man... really helped

  • @ttubeheadd cmon man!!u dn knw wat bebop scale iz? go open guitar pro check scales fr a primary idea.

  • @ttubeheadd haha "bepop" is a type of scale that has 8 notes in it. jazz bass players from the twenties coined the use of them so they can play eight notes up and down a scale in 4/4 where you hit the chord tones on the beat as opposed to a traditional diatonic scale where you have 7 notes where you won't hit the chord tones always on the beat. so bepop scales are technically a rhythmic concept but we have grown used to the sound of them so andy uses them in his improvising

  • @ttubeheadd

    bebop, style of jazz

  • damn, it would be so cool if I knew 10% of Andy's licks, then I could go to music stores and wow the customers and workers

  • I'm amazed by the fact that that's just a drum patch, with no bass or other guitars on it. He makes his solo so musical that he doesn't need any other musical back-up.

  • can you actually buy this at100 ?

  • yes you can, just a few months ago ibanez reissued andys signature based on fans request...

  • Thats actually an AT300, which is no longer in production, but Timmonsec is right. Ibanez just re-released his first model again, this time around it being named "AT100CSBL". Mine is on order TODAY!

  • Yeah, i did some research there around and about, but very hard to get hold of, and usually around 2 grand so thanks dude

  • Or you can do what I did and take a strat and put Andy's pickups in it. Cruiser bridge models and an AT1. But it's still not the same. I still come very close to his tone. My videos don't show it though.

  • holy shit i nearly cried when i heard that solo! was CLASS

  • That Boogie sounds killer! Seems like he doesn't pick very hard, but he rocks. At least he managed to get out of the hair band thing!

  • Anybody know where those "figures" can be found? Some tabulature or something...

  • I love his chromatics and his phrasing is perfect

  • Andy IS THE MAN!

He has the perfect tone ever, magic fingers, magic feeling, magic touch, deep sens of melody, ,great technic, great style, it sounds so so good.

Damn, he deserves to be really really more famous, known and recognised as one of the really best.

  • i think ur in love...

  • amen brother... one the most underrated guitar players ever... hes really an example in every way of how a guitar should be played and what real mussic essence should sound like...

  • i totally agree with you :)

  • I love how in the end he just says "something like that". That truly shows that he isn't even putting out much effort at all. I am gonna hang out with him next month. I can't wait.

  • Hey,

    HeilTheOperator

    I agree! Awesome musician.

  • Andy Timmons is perhaps the perfect blend of what a musician should be; creativity, feeling, soul and the will to share it.

  • Got that right... he plays his guitar because he means to have fun with it... and thats it... Andy Timmons is one of the finest american rock guitar player - quote STEVE VAI

  • @HeilTheOperator can't agree more

  • @HeilTheOperator I question that last part given the speeds he plays those chromatic licks ;)

  • @HeilTheOperator Indeed,i agree. Love his tone.

  • ok I will! :-) That was really great playing! Andy seems very good at being able to express him self. This is the second video I have watched and I am really enjoying his playing

  • why do people comment everything EXCEPT the video? his sound in this is so good! lol not just here all the time!

  • Anyone know the name of the video or the tabs for figure 5?

  • i know i pwned u

    cause im a way smarter

    thats why i studied chemistry

    and u music

thats why people like me dont flame other people for a language they dont master at 100% cause they were not born with it.

and thats why u say rhythm defines rhythm.

so i guess u know where u are....

mine is like that u know °!°

    yours is like that: .,.

    hehe tiny

  • "Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosphy. Music is the electrical soil in which the spirit lives, thinks and invents." - Ludwig van Beethoven

"Without music, life would be a mistake." -Friedrich Nietzsche

"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything." - Plato

I hope these quotes change your mind.

Its so sad that youre so ignorant and arrogant. Thats like a painter saying hes better than a dancer cause he paints

  • its so interesting

  • Its extremely interesting. And also entertaining, spiritual, and technical.

  • wow, what a pathetic piece of shit you are. if you got shot, i probably wouldn't care.

  • the time signature is given in the beginning. like the tempo of the beats. so u defined a constant pulse and a measure repeating all the time. and when u now place accents aka notes with defined lenghts related to a 4/4 measure (like eigths etc.) u have the pulsesequence for every mesaure and thats the rhythm dude. thats all. of course pauses are needed to specify if an accent sustains or not.

    what u said was.

"aint ...define as rhythm?" NO rhythm does! so rhythm defines rhythm. shoot yourself.

  • they have note lenghts... u actually read what i wrote? a quarter note is no note lenght? aint the sequence of note lenghts what people define as rhythm? lol dude. rofl. when there is a pause. then fucking listen to the music. when there is staccato. then play is how its played. as u can see there still is a note length notation in good tabs.

wow u have a diploma. man u must be super great. esp super smart. thats why u flame german guys for no proper english. ridiculous. what a sad person u are.

  • a good tab still has rhythm dude. i bet u just dont understand how to read it. on a normal tab there is a font used, where all signs use the same space. and when u define a group of 8 "-"s as a quarter note, then u can precisely add all other note lenghts between. faggot.

  • use guitarpro pls. and stop answering in english.

  • u fucking faggot are the worst shit ive seen in internet for a long time. seriosly. u correct my grammar. and u correct typing mistakes. go die pls. fuck yourself. ure so totally non funny. what a re u 5 years old?

LOL I JUST PISSED MY PANTIES WHAT A SUPER SMART COMMENT!

im from germany. OH SRY. I WAS NOT BORN WITH ENGLISH GRAMMAR LIKE U WERE!

LOL fucking retard. australien piece of shit. answer in perfect german then. fucking faggot how dumb are u? seriously.

  • im 5 years old, allrighty

pretty smart for a german 5 year old then to surf on youtube and writing english comments.

no its actually: ure the one reading tabs written by 5 years old. thats why u think tabs have no rhythm, cause u read the worst internet shit tabs that u can find.

  • well u probably read only crappy tas then

  • in normal tabs OF COURSE there is a note lenght given for every note.

cause without its fucked up. u normally have both ("normal" notes and tabs) at the same time.

tabs are notes for this instrument. without tabs u have no precise notes for a guitar. and guitar notes are tabs. when u play piano u can read "normal" notes, but there is one key to press for one note.

it has nothing to do with music theory, with the ability of reading notes or skill or whatever.

  • "....something like that" hahaha, jerk

  • Andy man! You rock! perfect tone!

  • nice tone!

  • well how do u think people transcribe solos?? they slow the tempo on the songs!!!! get yourself a transcriber software they are cheap

  • Have you even looked at the video, some of the licks are very fast and therefore very hard to work out, think before you say things. And yes, i do read music for your information

  • mainly because string instruments are unique in that you can play the same note in many many different places, so as a beginner it really tells you nothing about the best way to play it.

  • why would beginners be trying to learn andy timmons stuff?

and guitar music normally has the position indicated

  • at least they're trying to learn Andy Timmons and challenging themselves rather than learning what everyone else at the beginner level is learning

  • if beginning guitarists use tabs or books for everything they learn theyl be worthless as a guitarist in the future.

  • reading music, and understanding music structure and componets are 2 different things. i CAN read music if i really wanted to, but i find if i want to learn something, tab is just easier. however i mainly write, and for this i have a full understanding of theory, timing, note groupings, major and minor intervals, relative scales, and chord compostion. all of that require knoledge of music and notes, but no ability to read it. reading music is as easy as a tab can be, just not as straight forward

  • actually reading music allows for you to translate things in whichever way you want, and in some conditions modify things aswell, you can change root chords into say a sus chord, thusfor altering the melody if you'd like. when learning tab people arne't looking for freedom they are looking to clone a song. in my case of interpritation i still dont read music, but go by ear and then can change from there, increase octives for more intensity, switch aeolian to dorian etc. etc.

  • Does any ne know were this is from were you can get the tabs .

  • Can't believe my ears .. fuckin rock ON!

  • Tabs of these examples????

  • God, he is god, that ´s the thing!

  • hah "something like that" i want his fingers

  • mesa amps definitely are my favorite amps, it just sounds so good

  • come suona la chitarra quest' uomo e' assurdo.. Veramente immenso! Il piu' grande !!!!11

  • he plays with such ease.

  • What a wonderful player - not excessive technique and great tone - reminds me of Satch but he seems more fluid - know what I mean... not that I don't love Satch of course!

  • "something like that". Yeah, Andy... "something like that" is the kind of stuff that will make girls in first row pregnant.

  • stunned

  • holy mother!!!wow!!!! so cool!!!

  • What an excellent teacher. He plays so well but understands teaching too! I'm impressed!

  • "Something like that" wtf ;) makes it looks so easy lol

  • the only man who appears as though he's going to fall out of his chair when he plays XD great emotion and feel in his playing.

  • haha.

    hes so good.

  • No. this tone is from the mans fingers.

  • anyone gt the tab/music for this

  • this guitar tone is from Lone Star??

  • ibanez actually his amp tho is a mesa boogie lonestar

  • wow i totally misread that yes the tone is from a lonestar amp

  • i met him at a guitar clinic he is so cool

  • hahaha .... so that's great Andy ... thanks for that ... .... helps a lot

  • chromatic scale is literaly every notes?

  • Chromatic means just half-stepwise intervals.

  • chromatic notes are literally "color notes" and they serve to generate tension to build up musical interest

  • How the fuck did that guy do that solo at the end, he wouldn't slow down, he knew where every note was lol

  • learn one example each of a few different techniques and put them together end to end.

  • cool guy

  • utilità di questo video???

  • Nice licks, it's ashame he didn't show them more slowly ;p

  • "Somethin' like that..."

  • figure 5 is epic!

  • figure 3...simply amazing.

  • where're exercices tabs?

  • there's something weird with andy, why is he always using the same clothes?????

  • al fin alguien se dio cuenta !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Because you touch yourself at night.

  • yeah that's true but i do that when i remember how i dig your mothers pussy!

probably u are my son dude!

  • tabs?

  • mesa boogie suonds like gods voices

  • Andy is by my meaning the coolest guitarist today....he has so much tone and feeling in his playing...i wish i had 1% of it..

  • Omfg, that was sick!

  • HOLY SHIT

  • Ummmm, yeah Andy, it's just that easy ... LOL ... you still rock buddy ... enjoyed your playing all along the way here in Dallas from Blue Cat Blues to where you've arrived now!!!

  • andy is just the master... can't say anything different!

  • somethink like that.....

  • that mesa amp sounds sweet

  • Ha! I sold him that Fawn Marshall in the background.

It was at a store I was working at . It was one of the best sounding 70's Marshall's ever.

    Too funny

  • really? =)

it's obvious, live he uses his mesa boogies, in the studio he plays old marshalls.

  • :43 yeah that's totally bebop

  • AWESOME!

  • i would make love with that lonestar behind him

  • I would love the lonestar AND the marshalls!!! =] jiji

  • owned

  • exactly what I was thinking. nice call

  • i have nver seen this dude before, he REALLY blew me away!;) great!=)

  • is he using just the Lone star ?

  • The subtle bend at 2:20 is the greatest thing ever!!!

  • this guy rules!

  • He is the man!!The best taste and has THE SOUND!!WOow I wanna sound like this

  • *drooool* That first note he plays with vibrato is lovely. That is when you know a good guitarist, when someone who can do a perect note like that. Some pople try and cram 20 notes in 2 seconds and sound shit. But that bend and vibrato sounds way better.

  • *perfect

  • jazz degree from the university of miami doesn't hurt either. :)

  • awesome playing!!!!!!
