  • were changing this on my 99 silverado and what size or what would i ask for when buying a new blower be getting it a a junk yard so please answer

  • @SuperNutellaontoast We carry new ones with free shipping on our website 1aauto.com All you need to do is enter in your vehicle information, and the correct ones will come up for you. Hope this helps you out.

  • I have a 2001 Silverado, it blows cold air, however the 1 & 2 settings are very very low, and 3 and 4 are very similar, and 5 I would like it to blow out a lot more air. Would my problem be my fan? I feel like it should be blowing out more air than it is. I have changed the filter before several times, yet still no significant change.

  • @geddingtonfire It could be the blower motor resistor. You may also want to remove the blower motor to see if anything has ended up in the cage that could be slowing it down. Such as leaves or dirt. Hope this helps you out.

  • Great video. I have a 98 Chrysler concorde. The AC doesnt work in summer. But for winter the heating works great. I actually have to change actuator for heating to work again. Any guess on what is causing the AC not work. The air out of the fan is very hot in summer.

    Thanks in advance!!!

  • @crosstalk125 You may want to have someone check it for you to see if the refrigerant level is up and not empty. It may need to be charged.

  • i have a 1997 chevy blazer, and it used to blow good then the air started to go on and off while the vehicle was moving and now it doesnt blow at all, how does it sound like to you?

  • @reposado28 It could either be the blower motor resistor or maybe even a loose connection or wire somewhere. I would check to see if there's power to the blower motor and the resistor with a test light.

  • will this procedure work for a 98 Tahoe, because when i turn my a/c switch on in the front it doesn't blow at all on neither speed , but when i turn on my rear a/c switch it blows, but it doesn't put out heat or cool air it just blows. What could be my problem

  • @bjbenbj It could be the blower motor resistor, or possibly the switch.

  • will this procedure work for a 98 tahoe, because when i turn my a/c switch on in the front it doesn't blow at all on neither speed , but when i turn on my rear a/c switch it blows, but it doesn't put out heat or cool air it just blows. What could be my problem

  • @bjbenbj We haven't done a video on a 98 Tahoe blower motor, but the procedure may be very close.

  • I am replacing my 1975 mercedes 300D blower motor. In that car, Mercedes installed the blower motor first, and then built the car around it. The shop time to change that is about 12 hours. So I did the work myself and saved about $1500. Unfortunately, the motor is $500 and those blower motors were the bladed ones, not the squirrel cages and nobody makes those anymore so I can't use a generic motor from some American car. I'm so screwed. Got any ideas?

  • Great vidieo... thanks!

  • Great vid! Is it possible to change the bearing in the motor? Mine seems to be squealing on levels 1,2 and little on 3 but then stops. 99 silverado...

  • my truck doesent blow at all while im stoped, but it starts blowing when im driving? any ideas?

  • How do you remove the motor blower from a '98 Chevy Tahoe? It looks like it's a little more difficult than the '99+ year models....

  • @cmauldin245 it is confusing because in 1999 the tahoe and silverado were based on different platforms.98 and 99 tahoe same. 99 silverado different platform

  • where can I find my blower motor on my '04 Avalanche? Can it be easy to install a new blower motor because I would hate going to a service station and have it replace and pay for much? Would be nice if I get a reply from you. Thanks. :)

  • @jad467 Usually they are located on the passenger side under the dash. We carry them on our website. Here's a link to them.

  • My 99 Silverado fan motor was ROARING!. With the aid of this video I was able to remove it and clean out live oak leaves that were clogging the squirrel cage fan. When I put it all back together I left off the pia fan motor sound deadener cover and threw it away.

  • I have a 2005 Silverado. My AC stopped this past weekend. 2 years ago I lost function from setting 1,2,3 and 4 on the fan speed. 5 has been working fine but that stopped this weekend. It came back on a few times but shortly. Cold air is seeping out but no pressure. I called the Chevy dealership, they want $150 per hour for 3 hours to dianose this. I have read multiple reports of Chevys having this issue. Some say the wires are fried. Any thoughts? Its so hot out!!!! Thanks!

  • @traunt53 On your truck you have two resistors that control your fan speed. one is near your blower. the other is beind your 12345 speed control switch

  • my suburban doesnt blow cold air but doesnt have any leaks from the ac hoses and it has the cold air in the ac tank (i dont know what the air is called) but it was tested at a shop and its was good. could the problem be the ac blower motor?

  • @9632147miguel If it blows air it is not your blower motor. Sounds like your problem could be your air door actuator. As of right now I don't have a video for that.

  • Thanks for this video. Directions on filter box doesn't mention inner filter cover.

  • Do these things squeal? Because my father has a 03 2500 Silverado and when you turn the fan to a lower setting It squeals and It Is very annoying. But It does It for the heater and AC so I guess It wouldn't be AC Blower Fan Motor. Have any idea what It might be? and If It needs to be replaced or just lubricated?

  • @1ChevyGuy375 Yes they squeal when they are going or they get and obstruction.
