@AngryJoeMan Yeah, everything is metric...except for the nut that holds the negative terminal on my battery. No metric socket would fit. I don't know why.
Thanks for the video. I recently installed an Umnitza predator chromium after watching your video. However, I'm interested in installing a remote control operation using the second trigger wire you didn't use. Do you or any other users know how to wire the second trigger wire to operate with my car remote?
@obehi26 I have a general idea on how to use the second wire as a remote, however I haven't really looked into is a whole lot as of yet. I'm actually in the process of getting the second trigger wire to work with the lock/unlock function on my car. It's just a real pain in the ass.
hey you know that extra trigger wire that u ignored? you can use that for the unlock and lock feature. your angel eye can go on when u unlock and lock your car...run it to the passenger cubby hole to the car light inside, splice it. if you wanted to know what the extra wire is for :]
@reinier1234 I knew what the extra wire is for and I still plan on using it. The issue with this harness is it was designed for the E46, not the E39. The DME is located on the passenger side on the E39 and there is no direct pass through to the passenger cabin. However, on the driver side I've found a way to route the wire through and into my drivers side door. I'm going to need to extend the trigger wire about 5 feet to do it though. I'm planning on doing it this summer when I have the time.
@foleygac yea you are right, that harness is for the e46. yea i noice the DME is on that passenger side. thats another way to do it though, throught the dooor. time consuming. but hey, this vid helpd me alot though, first time seeing it. thanks for the vid! :] oh btw is your angel eye LED?
@reinier1234 The E39 is just slightly more difficult to make this work on but I'm going to make this happen and when I get around to doing it I'll make sure to make another video.
Yes, the Angel Eyes are LED's. They are Umnitza Predator Orion V2's and they have 60 LED's per ring.
I see. I have a 2000 528i and I recently purchased a set of H7 HID's from ddm tuning and as soon as I insert my key in the ignition the headlights start to flicker and once I turn on the headlights their fine. I called ddm and they told me I need a wiring harness to hook up to the battery which I wasn't sure of.
It's possible the wiring in your car is not strong enough to provide the current needed to constantly power the HID ballast. I haven't had any problems with mine so IDK.
No, you shouldn't need a relay harness for HID's. I just simply plugged the existing 9006 connections into the HID ballast and haven't had a problem since.
hey bro i just bought some oem lights. i bought them because of the led lights around the bulb. i connected the lights but the ground and the red wire i dont know what to connect them to. if you know can you tell me please thank you. dommi011
I'm pretty sure the OE headlights angel eyes work slightly differently than mine. The main issue is you car probably did not come with DRL's so you won't have anything to tap them into.
If you wanted to, you could try to power them off your parking lights by tapping into the positive and negative wires. However, I did this for awhile and I found it to be annoying to turn on your parking lights to have AE's.
You can buy this harness and power your OE AE's with it instead.
Only one trigger wire is supposed to be used for the DRL function. The other trigger wire is supposed to be used for the unlock dimming function.
Because the E39's layout is reverse from the E46 (the harness is made for the E46) I don't have direct access to the glove compartment where I would be able to tap into the interior lights.
However, I think I figured out a way to make it work and once it gets warmer out I'll make a video demonstrating what I did to make it work.
Just wondering will these work on the pre-lci & lci halos on the E60? or do they have special ones for those?

Doubt its a 3/16th size - BMWs are German therefore it will be a metric measurement! (mm not inches!)

Why didn't you use the second trigger wire? My harness looks exactly like yours, but each trigger wire is for each pair of AEs.
