Because these songs are built on one short little riff,(that you memorize) I try not to go right to the riff but tease a little bit,and make up filler parts to keep it from being boring. This vid is short because I could not come up with a filler for it. So I stretched 2 measures worth of riff (main melody) into a minute video. 4 beats= 1 bar , 4 bars= 1 measure. (This melody lasts 2 measures) I do not use sheets,it's all by ear sorry no sheets THX!

@seannopak25 : If you already have a midi controller keyboard then all you need is the rack and a midi cable to connect it. I already had the MM6 so when I got the rack,the MM6 became my midi controller since it has a midi out port. MM6(or any controller keyboard) MIDI out --->cable---->Motif Rack MIDI in.

@MaxedBlade The sounds are not from the keyboard. They are from the Motif-Rack (the box with the green screen above the keyboard). The keyboard (Yamaha MM6) is only a midi controller to play the sounds of the Motif-Rack.

@D0LCEZ : Thanks! I do not own a PSR but I imagine it would have the same or very similar sounds as my DGX-220 in my older videos. So you will find some decent synth sounds to use for techno/electro but it will be nothing like the top of the line equipment. (Motif, Tyros etc.).

It's a good keyboard for it's price though and it will provide many hours of fun like my DGX did for me!

@Blah00xx : The lead is called " PulseWith " then I also add " M-Trance" as a second layer. For bass I think I used "DarkJack" and for the kick drum sound it is one of the sounds of Dancekicks.

Yeah your keyboard has a better sound as the psr e413, but you played it too by ear and in your own style. I play the songs always like the original (I try it), and not in a individual style. That's amazing what you do! :)

The kick drum sound is one from "DanceKicks" ,the bass is " Dark Jack" ,the first lead sound is "PulseWith" and then I layer the second lead sound on top of that which is my favorite sound " M-Trance". I also spent a lot of time getting the portamento(?) time to be right. ( how long it takes the sound to bend from one note to the other ). All these effects make a big difference in how something sounds! : )

@Snowwie888 : Yeah man can multitask! I make mistakes in every one of my videos but I try not to leave an ugly mistake in there. So before I start recording I practice until fairly comfortable playing the piece and not so confused anymore : ) Sometimes it still takes a few takes to get a good one in there...this one took about six takes because my fingers are not exactly the typical pianist skinny fingers so I keep hitting multiple keys unintentionally : )
