You guys did a really great job, I am working on trying to get more stuff like this in my yard. Please come check it out, and let me know what you think!. I don't think you will be disappointed, just put this in after .com /watch?v=vXCDd_QVBbo
How about some notches or holes in the propellers to get more of a screaming sound out of the contraption rather than the buzzing sound. It shouldn't take but half a dozen propellers to find a decent sound.
Or glue a small, flat piece of plastic to a prop to get a creepier sound. You could even dedicate one extra motor just for sound effects.
Right now it sounds too much like a model airplane to really terrorize the kids to where they lose control and soil themselves in fright.
@derkutube Mr. T flies the Power Tower/Osprey firmware. For information on how it's set up, please visit my blog link in the description above. If you have specific questions, let me know. Thanks!
@Dorisequador I'll try to answer all that in the space I have, here goes! BrushLESS motors have a fixed stator with rotating magnets, that means that the magnetic field through the coils needs to move. That's what the ESC is for, it creates a 3-phase AC sine wave to drive the field which pushes the magnets, thus turning the motor. Both Amps and Voltage give you speed (A*V = Watts). Low weight will extend battery life. A 1200Kv motor will run at 15k RPM when driven by a 3 Cell LiPo battery. Whew!
@Dorisequador The motors I used were Turnigy 2213 924kv 17A Outrunners (Try HobbyKing). They're less than 1200Kv so the max RPM was a little lower than 15k, but it worked great. When I said 3 Cell LiPo batteries, I meant a single LiPo with 3 cells inside. But how many cells doesn't by itself determine how much energy they store. The ones I use are about 4000-5000 mAh. On the Ghost that would be enough for 10-15 minutes of flight I think, maybe a little more.
@forsetifox That would be nice. It's actually not that loud in person, if I were to put a speaker on it and have it wail some ghoulish thing, it would probably drown out most of the motor noise.
Il bet someone a mile away is gonna think its an alien or something

I have found you..... Love the Laugh ...
I need a little help understadning how a brush motor works what gives you speed AMP's or Voltage?
What makes the Batterie last really long and will run at about 15,000 RPM?

@UtahAerials Thank you so much for the info if I have 3 lipo bateries would they last all day ?
1200Kv motor which one is a good one to choose?
Link would be great.
15,000rpm would be perfect!
