dude it's sung tongue-in-cheek, like eyes rolling... how can 'you' (the subject of the song) really do anything original, or of your own choosing, when you're purely reacting to everyone else? That's the whole 'point' of this song - the subject isn't a product of their 'own' actions, they are reacting to others to fit in (whether the subject is at fault, or to blame, is another thing as the subject puts themselves in the situation in the first place)

it's so completly opposite of the video they put out .... it totally puts the song in a different frame of mine . I could see this kind of video maybe with the idea of when the lyrics were written but after they did that dance thing in the released video .......nothing matches with this song except that dance lol this vid is cool but it doesnt match the song

"Wonderful" got me into Everclear years ago but after years of liking them I just started listening to there old stuff like a year ago and have to say it's way better. Sparkle And Fade is an amazing album along with "So Much for The After Glow" (which is a little more listener friendly if you're just getting into them) World Of Noise is just pure brilliance

their first 2 albums are their best. and they might not be the most technical band in the world but their easy to listen to, and thats what makes a good band. even if their albums that followed were dissapointing.

I'm a hardcore fan, so I disagree. And I think by their first two albums, you mean Sparkle and Fade & So Much For The Afterglow, which were not their first two albums but their second and third. I think those who found their following albums disappointing, even Learning How To Smile with "Wonderful" on it, don't get what Everclear is about, which is not making hit singles.

They're still around and still making amazing music. There were always hit-worthy songs on their albums and still are.

ok yeh, seccond and third album, i know what everclear are and they maybe one of the most unconsistant bands around, after their seccond and third album, record sales dropped and their record company stoped promoting them as much. musically their not all that good, i studied music at college for 4 years, and been a musician for 10 years, but they still make a good sound and thats why i love them

Inconsistent? I'm not sure. I think they've evolved pretty normally. Art's always been heavily influenced by punk, country & pop & their albums just slowly developed into what Art enjoyed, which wasn't what Craig and Greg enjoyed. That's part of why the band imploded: musical disagreements. That shows through in the music a lot of times, like on Slow Motion Daydream from 2004.

Sparkle And Fade, their second album sold well because of "Santa Monica," So Much For the Afterglow sold well for several huge hits, & the following two Songs From An American Movie discs sold well, especially the first, which has arguably their biggest hit, "Wonderful".

I'm sure Art'd agree he'd not a very technically-trained musician, but I think they're an underrated band to begin with and past Songs From An American Movie Pt 1., everyone gave up on them. If you listen to their music, its a lot more complex than people think.

And I do think they're quite special.

Well there's something we definitely agree on, because I say Everclear could blow MCR away anyday. And I agree the beauty of music is that different music appeals to different people. Although it is hard to have respect for a band like MCR in my case :]

Yeah, I'd say its their mid-stuff, when they started to let all their pop-ness out [around So Much For The Afterglow, definitely their most popular album]. They are an easy band to listen to. Art's known for taking deep, dark lyrics and making them catchy and fun to listen to. But that doesn't mean the deep lyrics are any less there, and I think that's what I thought you were saying. But I get you now.
