George was an amazing man who made music that words cannot be described for its greatness. He has made such an impact on me and i'll always be a fan of him. R.I.P George, we miss you so much! <3
thats pete drake "bending the strings" on the pedal-steel. He played on this album and on Bob Dylans "Nashville Skyline" albums. He was an A-team session member in the 50s-80s in Nashville, playing for such singers as Tammy Wynette, The Statler Brothers, Conway and Loretta.....he was also pedal steel player on Ringo's "Beaucoups of Blues" album in 1970
The Beatles were prophets. To learn how to perceive the hidden messages in their songs, go to TruthContest (dot) com, open The Present, and read through the section about The Beatles. Every Beatles fan needs to see this.
Another hauntingly beautiful song from a lovely man...his 'Georgeness' will never be matched by another...Thank you George for opening my heart in so many ways.
This song is actually just a demo that is included on the remastered All Things Must Pass. But this song is so awesome, it's good enough to be a standalone song, not just a demo.
@Tuzotonic Yes, that was such a long album, and this pretty jewel wasn't even included. Have you heard the "extra horns and piccolos version" of "What is Life' on the anniversary album? I can see why those tracks weren't mixed in, sounds like something on Monty Python. It sorta makes me wanta dance and spin like a nut.
Haha, yes indeed the additonal version of What is Life on the anniversary album was way over the top even for a Phil Spector production. Your description was right on the money. It would have been more fitting for slapstick comedy hi jinx.
@bealtespip123 i know. i would have loved to meet him. he was such an inspirational individual. he was (in my opinion) the greatest guitarist/singer/songwriter of all time. he was a deep thinker and heis death was a huge loss to the world
When I've heard this song the first time, I had to listen it circa 30times "off the reel". This song is so beautiful! The guitar "bending" is so cool!
i too,,,can not believe this wasn't released on the 3 RECORD album when it came out. it's a beautiful song, sung only the way George could have done it. i remember how we all laughed at the fact that,,,shy little ole George, was the first X-Beatle to put out an album. it was recieved and honored with the reverence it most heartly desevered.
Rest in Peace, George... Thanks for all the wonderful soulful music! You made a difference in this dark world. God Bless you and know you won't be forgotten.

Thanks so much for sharing this, Missy. I hadn't heard it before, so this is a real treat! Yes, George had a good soul - bless him. But, contrary to poular belief, John did too. It may not have always shown b/c of his rough upbringing and his rough edge, but John was so misunderstood. John wrote some of the most poignant music around in the 70's.
What a great man...and a great song! Thanks for sharing!

I listen to him every night, all while I sleep.
He's slowly climbing up to being my favorite Beatle (Musically), slightly below John.
All his songs are great, too bad Him, and John didn't have enough time to make more, they had much much more left in them.
Although I'm only 14, their music even gets to me, its all I listen to.
George & John Forever.

All the great people seem to be going. George and John being two of them.
And what's been washed up on shore to replace them, eh folks?
Katy Perry, The Jonas Brothers and fucking Jedward.
