I own a 997 S and Clarkson doesn't know what he is talking about. First, the memory seat buttons don't work unless you are completely stopped with your foot on the break. Second, the interior is completely different and looks nothing like the 996 interior. The 996, inside and out, is widely considered to be the ugliest 911 of all time. The 997 is widely considered a beautiful instant classic that returned the 911 to it's glory days. And finally, they did make a 4 wheel drive version...

An hour prior to writing this, I actually drove one of these. It was only a 15 min. drive on the freeway, but... WOW! What a car! I've never been a Porsche fan, but I sure am now.

Love this show. For the record, my 06 C4S Cab never lost it's gearshift knob. And I wouldn't say that the ride is "bone-crushing." A bit stiff in Sport Chrono, but you want it that way. It's a drivers car. Something you can take out of the garage go to work, and then straight to the track! Never loses it's appeal. Never out of place. Never out of style. My guess is that's why Porsche has kept with something that works.....well.

I wish Porsche would begin making cars like it did before the 911: build a model for several years and replace it with a brand new car. Now, they keep facelifting the same car every few years and build new ones to fill ever niche in the buyer's market (roadster, coupe, sportscar, supercar, SUV, saloon). Please make a new version of the 928, a front-engine V8 sportscar (faster than the 911) as well as the 944, a front-engine 4 cylinder entry level Porsche. Porsche, stop making ugly cars!!!!!!!

i love top gear, ive watch every show, more than once, so i know clarkson and his weird taste in some cases. Buut ud have to be half-blind to get confused over which one is which among those porsches. Plus its a stupid thing to try and get porsche to change its design. The main reason i love porsche isnt becus theyre fast, have good handling, and so on, but because they have their engine at the back and looks similar to the genesis models of the marque. + that their still kicking arse, and some!
