  • What do you expect from a console arcade aimed at kids and early teens who think its a simulation. It has a very primitive physics sistem, and is no where near as realistic as PC simulators like iracing, lfs, netkar, rfactor...

  • @derbigpr500 Agreed, this bunch of kids dont have a clue about realistic physics, For example, I just take gt for a week and after a bunch of gold in licences, beating the shit out of the A.I. and the game itself, it took me a whole week to shave just a second in my very best hot lap in LFS, Off course, without trying differents setups, gran turdismo needs a slogan to wanna be a simulator (if it was a simulator, nobody would buy it, because a real sim is way way harder than this)

  • please can someone tell me how to change tyres in GT Life because its making me use comfort tyres which are crap even though ive already perchaced better tyres

  • @patato67 you have to change them on the driving options, for some reason only known to PD, it won't let you choose the tyres on the car set up page.

  • This problem was fixed in the full version of GT5. The cars now skid without you being able to change direction when the front wheels are locked, as it should be.

Surprisingly it turned out to be a great driving sim. Go get it.

  • @gek54 have they fixed the steering wheel turn speed? In prologue the steering wheel only moved at the speed of treacle no matter what you did with control input (was using g25 but it was the same with a pad)

If they have I might consider buying but that really did my swede

  • look at this sht, someone tryna make gt5 look all bad. watching this one and watching the forza lock steering video, what they did here was try to make the car slide left and right by holding the turn (watchin how you turn your wheels) but then when you watch the forza one its like they barely turn left and right. also turn the abs on i bet this wudnt happen

  • @LarkinPower Doesn't make any difference how much or how little the wheels are turned...the point is, once the wheels lock, the car is supposed to continue travelling in a straight path no matter how you steer the front wheels. Turning on the ABS would be pointless to show locked steering now wouldn't it?

  • prologue with gt4 old physics :s gt5 be good!

  • Oh and EVERY individual car has different tuning and specifications from the others. This is not a mediocre every day racing game. This is Gran Turismo. They don't pull short cuts when it comes to the specifications of the car...

  • 油門煞車一起採

  • lol

  • Obviously this guy didn't do it right.

But this guy in this video does.

    /watch?v=vUQQIv7A0eA&feature=related

  • @edgeofsins

sorry, its still happening there, its just at a far lower speed, so its less noticeable.

what that video is showing, is that the wheels can lock. steering while the front wheels are locked exists, but the effect is incredibly small.

as for your comment about the trucks/suvs, GT HAS THEM TOO!

and racing them cleanly, with other people is suprisingly rewarding.

  • @edgeofsins

anyway, this is off topic, and this poor guys video is getting full of junk. use the PM system instead of the comments.

  • isnt that MR?

  • Have you guys ever that maybe he didn't do it right? There are other videos where people got it...

  • well, that pretty much seals it.

any developer that claims realistic physics, and then puts this into any version of their game cant be trusted.

we shall see what happens nearer release, but based on this GT wont be worth the disc it will be pressed on.

  • @iwanthalo3 I am quite surprised at this. GT was never a racing game. It's always been a "driving simulator" and to have overlooked something like this, that's pathetic. I'm appalled. Oh and when I say it's never been a racing game, I mean that there is no challenge and no fun in racing in this game at all. Let the flame war begin.

  • @SoulVotik

its pretty much as ive said since i discovered forza. GT is no fun anymore. ever since 3, its been about level of content as opposed to quality of content.

i do agree with you, it is pathetic, and any company that does this cant be trusted to make a "simulator". at nest, you could use it as a tool to learn the tracks :)

  • @iwanthalo3 I feel vindicated. Thank you! I thought I was the only one who felt like this. Most people are saying "GT is the best racer ever made!" Well, it's the best driving simulator, I say. Thank you very much iwanthalo3!

  • @iwanthalo3

Really? Because GT offers far more cars and different varieties while Forza basically only offers racing cars and tuned cars. So don't go talking about "quality" of content.

  • @edgeofsins

i dont care hoe many cars it has, most of them are different versions of the same car. like both the regular, and v-spec versions of the R34. thats just a sample of its non-variety. and, most of the cars are so boring to drive, or are just plain boring.

like the Benz patent motor wagen. a 3 wheeled 1hp, wheelchair essentially.

and forza offers far more than "racing cars and tuned cars". there are classic muscle, modern muscle, exotics, hatches, and thats just a few.

  • @iwanthalo3

Yeah. Forza offers cars that aren't normal everyday cars. They offer cars that appeal to people who aren't true when it comes to a racing simulator. Gran Turismo offers FAR more variety while Forza doesn't. Basically Forza is for people who want a racing game that skips ahead of everything to get to the part you use awesome cars basically. Forza offers a lot of different versions of the same car too... Oh I am so sorry that a racing simulator isn't full of only awesome fun cars.

  • @edgeofsins

excuse me? have you even played forza?

there are hatch-backs like the chevy ave and renault twingo, larger hatches like the clio, and ford focus, then there are fast saloons, coupes, race cars, race versions, r1 cars, suvs, trucks, and then there is the customisation, which opens millions of possibilities. the only cars types that GT has and forza doesn't, are cars that nobody will ever want to use for racing. and you forget one important thing: THIS VIDEO!

  • @iwanthalo3

You are going to race with trucks? Has it not occurred to you that Forza is trying to look badass by including so many powerful and good looking cars that are well known to attract idiots that only want that and not a true experience?

Why are you still debating on car variety? Gran Turismo still has it beat... There is a video with tire locked steering on Prologue... And it WORKS. Its on the right side of your screen with all the other videos and is at the top...

  • @edgeofsins laugh my mother fucking ass off, ill put money on it, if you ask the developers, for allll those 1000 cars, i bet there are only 200 sound files for the engines and maybe, MAYBE, 300 unique car profiles for physics and torque curves, ill put money on it, that a 350z will handle EXACTLY the same as the 370z, and most likely sound the same too, and i bet vtec doesnt engage in fucking honda's, and ITS JAPANESE

  • @Kyoru91

You are obviously an ignorant moron who doesn't keep up with the news... for one there is 200 premium models for cars which all will have more detail then the rest and definitely actual sound from the real thing and many other of the standard cars already have been recorded. Oh and if you talk about expenses... They can pay to rent or have someone else with the type of car to come in and let them record. They don't have to buy the car... Plus they have a HUGE budget any ways...

  • @edgeofsins i mentioned nothing of expenses, of course they fucking rented and borrowed cars, no way they afforded to buy, and lmao, 200?!?!? every one of forza's cars is an individual model

  • @Kyoru91

Lol. Forza does NOT have 400 INDIVIDUAL models. Many of them are the same car except tuned differently. Also... its FAR less variety... too many sports cars and tuned up cars... Gran Turismo has far more car models and it will have more seperate audio for different cars. I mentioned expenses because you assume that Gran Turismo, a bigger budget and longer project, is not going to have many audio tracks for the cars and you have no point to tell me to support your claims.

  • @edgeofsins haha, okay, that is true, but i dont really want to race a prius, oh, and just watch the video again....and again, i dont think you could tire lock steer in the first need for speed!!!

  • @Kyoru91

What the hell are you talking about? Need for Speed 1 is an arcade racer and this is a realistic racing simulator... Oh and you dont have to race a prius. Theres over 900 other cars to chose from...

  • @Kyoru91 - I agree. The sounds on this game suck, they are ok, but I've heard better. The graphics are the only thing that is awesome in GT5. The physics,,, um, yeah sorry but they suck and they are not realistic at all from what I can tell. With a wheel they are just sad. I feel GT5 is an ok game but until they get real with the physics of real cars, Console games will still be under real sim computer games. Shame on GT5 physics for sucking so much. All they care about is having the most cars.

  • @alphawav3 Everything you said just screams full of shit

  • even in a demo they shouldnt have had physics like this, and why do they even sell their demo?? and then release the final version 5 years later MASSIVE FAIL why they still have fans left I dont know

  • It's an NSX.... LOL

  • GT5 vs PGR 4

  • Forza 3's tire physics has tire sidewall deformation, ftw.

  • I believe this is the correct answer...

watch?v=hoI4SnqIT2g (I have both games and tried this on them both)

  • @philabian

    Correct answer!

  • @philabian

    1. He had less speed then the car in your video.

    2. He turned it and therefore even more resistance will be caused by the tires when they turn more sideways.

    3. Your car stayed straight and you didn't steer it much at all...

If you ask me this video is just bs...

  • @edgeofsins

im sorry? whatever the speed, and turning angle, this shouldnt happen. at all.

and that car swerved a great deal.

  • looking at the video, I can see that the rain physics are already in place :)

  • I got -2 from the GT fanboys, Aww thats cute, but then again i would be pissed off if my so called sim had such shitty poor physics.

  • This is on standard physics. It is the old physics engine which has been predominantly unchanged in GT5P since its development and release around 2 years ago. They have developed a new physics engine, sorting out problems like this. And you can talk, take a look at these physics: watch?v=5Y-9q25y4Eo And again... watch?v=fiSXyrikl24 And again... watch?v=pB2L5k9cbfI This one too... watch?v=ALzCAECiH6U And who could forget, the LOLmobile: watch?v=CUxVNENan6g
  • My bad, it was pro physics fine, but its still the old physics engine, they havn't put the new one in prologue.

  • Thats prologue so I;m good

  • Lol at all the GT fanboys putting a thumbs down on all the comments.

  • shitbin :checide

  • GT the real driving simulator, Eh NO!!!!!!!

    This video = win

    GT = failure

  • LMAO. YOU SIR, WIN!

  • Excellent game but Forza just has tire physics down. They always did.

  • what the fuck? i thought they would do better than that when we are paying 60 dollars

  • Pro physcis? Thats pretty poor then, I mean wheel lock steering does exist, but that was extensive.

  • I am much more of a Forza fan than a GT5 fan but I have to say, I suspect that would be on standard physcis, put it on professional physics I expect that will not happen, if it does happen on pro physics there is a problem with that game lol. Like I said, Forza fan but also have a PS3, getting GT5 when it comes out, will be nice to compare!

  • Diving Options Used when making this video:

    Transmission: MT

    Active Steering: Off

    Driving Physics: Professional

    ASM: Off

    Traction Control: Off

    Driving Line: Off

    Tires: Racing R3

    ABS: Off

  • I thought this game was suppose to be a simulator? failure.

  • That only happens when you use the standard physics.

  • Wrong, it was set on 'Professional'.

Feel free to try it yourself.
